all whips were ranged weapons in 3.0, invalid concern.

If you are going to use Unupdated 3.0 stuff then RAW your stuck with the worlds crappiest ranged weapon unfortunately.

Q 37 Looking for a helm of true seeing. I think it's worth 75k and is in one of the FR books. Anyone know which item I'm talking about?

The hathran mask of true seeing is in Unapproachable East.

Found it, thanks. Also found the helm. It's in the 3.0 DotF book, and it's over 91k, but it also gives you a +1 insight armor bonus.

Q 38: I there a Practised Spellcaster/ Practised Manifester type feat for Wildshaping? That makes up for lost Wildshape levels?

Q 39:any feat for which you
qualify, as long as Two-Weapon Fighting is a prerequisite
for your choice. For example, you could choose Improved
Two-Weapon Fighting or Two-Weapon Defense as your
bonus feat."

If you already have Two Weapon Fighting, can you take, say, Perfect Two Weapon Fighting?

Q34:  I'm looking for ways to add Delay Death to a couple of non-cleric characters I am working on.  I know about the Destiny domain.  Are there any other ways to get it as...

34a.  ...a druid?
34b.  ...a wizard?
34c.  ...an SLA or item?
A34: Planar Touchstone (Catalogues of Enlightenment) should do it, if there is a domain that has it as a spell. I'm pretty sure there is. Let me go check my wizard with it...

Edit: 3rd level, Destiny Domain
Note that CoE only gives the domain granted power and a couple of spells/recharge.

A38: There's an Amulet that raises your effective WS level by 3 or 4 (?), in MoF. I could be wrong about the book, I'm AFB.

A39: Notice the "any feat FOR WHICH YOU QUALIFY" part. So no. If that wasn't in there, sure, but it is.

So...I don't think so unless you qualify for Perfect Two Weapon Fighting.

A38 Sadly, no.

edit:  ah, that's right - Wild Shape Amulet in MoF lets you Wild Shape as if you were 4 levels higher (up to a max effective level of 20).  So, no feat, but for 40,000gp, yes^^

The only problem with the Destiny domain is that, while the domain itself is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for, this is a religious character and none of the deities that grant the Destiny domain fit with the story.  If there was a way to gain the domain while worshiping a deity that doesn't actually grant it, it could work, but otherwise no dice.

Any similar abilities out there?  I know of the Frenzied Berserker's ability.  Anything else that will keep me from dying at -10?

For the druid, you can gain a domain from a prestige class, then take the heratic of the faith feat (Power of Faerun 46) to change it to the destiny domain, no matter what domains your deity normally offers.

For wizard, recaster (Races of Eberron) and wyrm wizard (Dragon Magic) can do it with some loss of spellcasting ability.

You could activate a wand of delay death with use magic device.

Also could do it with Master Specialist as a Necromancer... or find one who had done that and get them to write you an arcane scroll.

1) You're explicitly not required to worship the deity to gain the domain/abilities from this combo.

2) The feat/location says you can "cast the spell normally", or something like that (I forget the wording). Anyway, IIRC, it is worded in such a way that you could argue that you could use the knowledge of the spell to write it down into your spellbook, since you can explicitly scribe a spell you have prepared into your spellbook.

I forget where that is spelled out, but it had to do with preparing from another wizard's spellbook, and then copying the spell into your own spellbook from memory.

So do you contend that if your DM allows you to use Deepwood Sniper, that your Survival skill is screwed because, well, you have to use it unaltered, and they only get Wilderness Lore...  :rollseyes

If your DM is going to allow 3.0 material, he's going to make the common sense accommodations related to using 3.0 stuff in 3.5

A whip dagger is a whip with a blade on the end that deals lethal damage.  It uses the same attack rules as a whip.
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

Q 40 This is a question for DMs. If you're running a game, and the PCs aren't taking the proper amount of money as per the WBL that they should be because they're "heroes", do you increase the CR of a creature by 1 to compensate for their lack of gear? Because that's what my players are doing, even if they're not entirely conscious of it, and the stuff they're starting to come across is getting to be a bit much for them, even with my already lowering the CR.

A40: As a DM, I provide treasure in additional ways.  Ie, rewards from grateful people, etc.  Wealth by Level is a really important balancing factor, so if they bypass treasure, I provide treasure in other ways.  Magical locations, maybe the effects of a slotless item as some sort of reward, or else they get offerred plenty of money up front for their next mission, or I tack extra treasure somewhere where there are no objections to looting it.

Q 41:  Is there a version of 4es inherent bonuses anywhere, for someone who wants to play a game without 'the plus' magic items, like stat, save and AC boosters?  At the moment, I'm considering working from VoP.  Ideally, however, someone will have done some of this work for me already.  I don't necessarily want a no magic item game, but one in which magic items are more for nifty tricks and flavor, than simple stat bonuses.

Hmm, I looked through that before I posted, and didn't find it; and now I'm looking through it again and I still don't see it.  Can I get a page number?

I think the better solution is going to be to get creative about giving them stuff^^  Why and how are they refusing to take stuff?  Are they looting and then giving it to the poor?  Or is it a "looting dead bodies is evil" type of thing?

The Rageclaws soulmeld from Magic of Incarnum lets you keep fighting until -10, and extends the range down for invested essentia. A druid with a splash of incarnum can be pretty neat if you are focusing on the being a bear side more than the summoning side. It scales pretty poorly, though (-20, sure, but if you take 100 points of damage in a round it is unlikely to help). Knight's get to say "screw you physics and biology" with their challenge ability, but not until 20th level.

Q42: What's a good way to cheaply (and quickly) craft alchemical items? Do spells like fabricate work fine for this?
Shh. My common sense is tingling. . .
