EDIT: Also, 6 levels of Monk and it's only 1/day.
Quote
Shadow Blend (Su): In any conditions other than full daylight, a 7th-level Dark Moon Disciple can disappear into the shadows, gaining total concealment. Artificial light does not negate this ability, though a daylight spell does.
This benefit replaces the wholeness of body class feature that the standard monk gains at 7th level.
I don't see anything about it only being 1x day, either. Total concealment all the time is crazy. All you need is someone to cast Deeper Darkness every few days for you, and you're basically invisible 24/7.

Q222
Bahamut is the only platinum dragon.  His stats are outlined in Deities and Demigods.

What energy type is his breath weapon?  To what energy types is he vulnerable, resistant, or immune?

A222:  Bahamut possesses three breath weapons:
  • an 80-foot cone of cold that deals 36d10, Ref 60 for half.
  • an 80-foot cone of mist that stuns and turns creatures into gas as by gaseous form for 32 rounds, Fort 60 negates
  • a 160-foot line that disintegrates, Fort 60 to take 18d10 instead
Bahamut is immune to fire, but has no other resistances or immunities.

While Bahamut is the only example of his kind, Dragon Magic does have an entry for platinum dragons on its table for Draconic Heritage, Dragonwrought, and Dragon Legacy Options (p103).  The descriptor listed is "Any one energy type."

Q232
Simple question, but ... does the Wilder's Wild Surge ability automatically pay for the next level of augmentation to a power, regardless of base manifester level?  For example, a first-level Wilder manifesting Astral Construct: if he Wild Surges for +1, bringing his manifester level to 2 and paying for an augment, does it still augment the Astral Construct to the next level, despite it requiring 3 power points normally (more than a level 2 manifester can spend)?

Q234 Hello all you learned sages out there, I have a rather difficult conundrum I could use some help with. I'm currently in a kind of neutral evil spy vs spy campaign. I'm the mage who's good at dealing a fair bit of damage and being the party's face-man to the public (Sorc6/Eldritch Master2[DragMag 280]). I have a couple of characters in my party who are very stealthy and could easily steal from me and I've already been stolen from twice. Are there any practical ant-theft measures I can take? I could use spells like Shadow Cache and Leomund's Secret Chest to safeguard my stuff overnight but I need to have it on me and ready for use during the day and at least one of the characters is skilled-enough to get away with pick-pocketing. As a temporary solution I've coated the contents of my wallet with a contact poison and I've got a magic item that can cast neutralize poison but this doesn't seem to me to be a very cost-effective or insurmountable safeguard. I'm up for all ideas, both short-term and long-term solutions. Thanks for all the help!

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO what a ride!

Kill them both and find better teammates.  If you need them, bring them back as zombies or skeletons afterward.  If you need their skills, bring them back as something that isn't mindless -- for example, kill them with enervation so they rise 24 hours later missing 1 level and with 1 level of the Wight racial class -- and then use Command Undead to keep them in line.

If you're evil, and they're more hindrance than help, not much reason not to kill them.  If they've got Evasion and all of your killing power involves Reflex saves for half damage, you deserve what you get.

If they're PCs, and afterward they complain about your mistreatment, point out that they initiated the PvP with their thieving, and see if you can work out some sort of arrangement where in the future you don't kill them and they don't steal from you.

No. Wild Surge +1 is only good for one manifester level and one power point. If used on Astral Construct when your own ML is 1, it's wasted (except for the extended duration).

Take 3 levels of Binder and the Improved Binding feat, then bind Andromalius. You automatically know when someone takes something from you using Slight of Hand. You can use Locate Object to find what they took, and Tasha's Hideous Laughter to disable the thief while you get your stuff back. Bind Naberius in the meantime to help with faceyness.

Then go into Anima Mage, since you've already sunk so many levels into Binding.

A234b:A much more efficient method of the above:

Take 1 level of Binder and the Improved Binding feat (to get 2nd level vestiges, which is the worst prerequisite of Anima Mage) THEN go into Anima Mage for 2 levels to advance both binding and spellcasting, THEN bind Andromalius for anti-rogue powers. No need to lose more caster levels than necessary if you're looking to acquire a 3rd level vestige. My way only loses 1 caster level. The above would lose 3.

A super sweet addition to Anima Mage:

Add in a level of Metaphysical Spellshaper (Book of Erotic Fantasy) and use its special ability to trade metamagic costs into ability score damage, and use Naberius to heal up that ability score damage, and declare yourself a limitless metamagic mage.

Silent spell applied to every spell is pretty cool. Quicken is even better when applied to every other spell.
If I say something about real world physics, and someone disagrees, assume I am right 90% of the time. This number goes up to 100% if I am late night posting - trust me, my star dust sibs.

If it was a 2nd level wilder surging for +1, and also paying 1 power point to augment, he would manifest a 2nd level Astral Construct, though.

as such, would I be out of line for changing the bonus from Draconic Polymorph to an enhancement bonus?  (which is my instinctual inclination) (and yes, it's about to cause problems)

I see that you want to solve problems. Not problems like, "What is beauty?," because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of 'philosophy'. You want to solve practical problems. F'r instance, how are you gonna stop some big, mean Mother Hubbard from tearing you a structurally superfluous new behind? The answer: Use a gun. And if that don't work? Use more gun.
And if that fails try this

Adapt Rage Mage to psionics.

Now, if you wanted a USABLE way, just cast Schism.

Q 235 The bluewood special material in Unapproachable East. Can a druid wear that?

Q 236 Regarding the Swiftblade on the WotC site (haste personified). What's the best class and race to be one, and with regards to the 10th level ability, why would you/how can you put haste (3rd level) into a 6th or higher level slot, without a metamagic feat, and why would you short of getting time stop (which technically you might even have at this point).

Q 237 Is Beguiler a worthwhile class?

Q 237 Is Beguiler a worthwhile class?

A 236: You can simply stick Haste in a higher slot without doing anything at all. Note that you probably wouldn't have Time Stop by the time you get the 10th level class feature since Swiftblade loses 4 caster levels over its 10 levels. As for what classes and races work well with it, look at the Gish handbook and the Swiftblade handbook.

Quote from: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicOverview/arcaneSpells.htm#wizardSpellSlots
A spellcaster always has the option to fill a higher-level spell slot with a lower-level spell.

A 237: Beguiler is indeed a worthwhile class. It's a solid Tier 3 class (or is it T2? I can't remember) with a fairly versatile spell list, full spontaneous casting, and decent class features. Immunity to mind-affecting spells and True Seeing shut down a lot of its abilities, but the Beguiler spell list is wide enough that you will still be able to contribute.
