Q 176: Is there anyway to make a Lance a light weapon while mounted?
Use one sized for a creature smaller than yourself?
Trying to create a halfling out rider dual wielding lances, and weapon size rules don't work like that, they'd effectively become short spears.
A player once asked me if there was any way to make a Tarrasque more evil... 3 sessions later he was stoned with D20s as the PC led an exidus out of the path of a Dire Tarrasque of Legendary Wonder.

Q 278 Can anyone think of a 1st level spell (from any class) that deals poison damage?  If not 1st, what's the lowest level spell that can?   Thanks!

What about using Oversized Two-Weapon Fighting?

What about psionics? Psionic Minor Creation can make plant-based poisons.

Q275: What's the easiest and simplest way (without spending a crapton of class levels) for a Balor to pick up Animate Objects? Preferably as an SLA, but if that's not possible...

Thanks,
~Bowen
A custom item?
Anything that isn't as dependant on DM fiat?
That'd probably be spellstitched, but I don't think it fills all necessary criteria.
Well, it could work with a Lichfiend Balor, but Spellstitched only gives Conjuration, Evocation and Necromancy as options, not Transmutation...

Q277

Damage Reduction/Evil is generally overcome by evil weapons (unholy, etc), not by evil creatures, correct.

So if I pick up an evil Halfling or Gnome and use it an improved weapon, does it automatically overcome DR? I mean it IS an evil weapon!  :D
Being a creature with the evil subtype works as well. Like a demon or devil. Being of evil alignment doesn't get through. That's what you're looking for. Anything that states that causes it to count as evil will get through.

Ok so does a neutral creature wielding an evil halfling work?

No. A neutral creature wielding an evil halfing wearing a demon fiendhelm (MIC) would though.

I'm hoping to use fey-craft to add dex to damage, since str is my dump stat for this charger build.

Feycraft does NOT add DEX to damage.  It just gives you weapon finesse for free on certain weapons.

Q279What's the name of the spell that allows you to know the highest level spell currently available to be cast by the target you are looking at, or spell-like ability, etc?

They don't/haven't, was the point. 3.5 is as dead as people not liking nice tits.

Sometimes, their tits (3.5) get enhancements (houserules), but that doesn't mean people don't like nice tits.

Though sometimes, the surgeon (DM) botches them pretty bad...

A279: Arcane Sight, PHB.

"...and the
strength of the most powerful spell or
spell-like ability the creature currently has
available for use."
If I say something about real world physics, and someone disagrees, assume I am right 90% of the time. This number goes up to 100% if I am late night posting - trust me, my star dust sibs.

There is a feat in PHB II that lets you do that I believe.  Vatic Gaze or something.

No.

Can you explain why?  Technically I WOULD be using an evil weapon.

What about if I used a small demon/devil as an improvised weapon?

Creatures only overcome DR with their body/natural weapons if they possess the same DR.

So are you saying that my "weapon" needs to be able to overcome the DR with its body in order to overcome the DR when used AS a weapon?  You know, that makes a lot of sense.  Not 100% convinced that's RAW though

The SRD says
Quote
Some monsters are vulnerable to chaotic-, evil-, good-, or lawful-aligned weapons. When a cleric casts align weapon, affected weapons might gain one or more of these properties, and certain magic weapons have these properties as well. A creature with an alignment subtype (chaotic, evil, good, or lawful) can overcome this type of damage reduction with its natural weapons  and weapons it wields as if the weapons or natural weapons had an alignment (or alignments) that match the subtype(s) of the creature.

So why isn't an evil halfling an evil aligned weapon?  I mean it IS evil.  It IS a weapon in that context....

For the same reason a sword made by an evil mage or usin dark sacrifice xp doesn't auto-overcome unless the appropriate buff spell is placed on it (Like ablackguard's curse weapon) or it has the proper weapon ehnacement property on it (holy/unholy/axiomatic/anarchic)

Alignment, subtypes, and weapon qualities are all unrelated in the game.

Edit: clearerexplanation - alignment, and alignment aligned are not the same. If I am lawfulgood, I am not lawful and good aligned, I am just lawful and good. It's why a monkdoesn't autobypass alignment DR it matches wih it's alignment.

Also, on my phone, so apologies for horrendous typing.
