I do believe Boz actually okayed retraining both, I never really looked into the details myself.
Or I could just throw out the DCFS out there like you said, I'm sure I can do it as an Artificer (too tired right now to check it all)...

Really? Hmm... I'll see if I can make it work with the fluff, in that case.
Of course, we could just ignore the feat's there and say we simply had a bit of extra money. :D

Hey I've honestly got some feats to burn. I could spend two on Leadership and Might Makes Right (That is a feat, right?) and get the cohort. I'd have a leadership score of 16, which would be more than enough to pick up an 8th level artificer (improved cohort). Issue: I have bought back a level adjustment, and if I took improved cohort, we'd have to wait for 3,000 experience for the guy to qualify for landlord.

What I COULD do, and have done in the past to great effect, is buy the cohort, with improved cohort and everything blah blah blah, and play him until we get the requisite 3000 experience needed for me to level up and the cohort to take Landlord, THEN we have our ship. We'd need to fight two battles or so, immediately, for this to happen in a timely fashion, and this might set me back a bit featwise. I've only got so many feats and I want Shock Trooper eventually.

Thoughts?

My feats now are Adaptive Style, Blind Fight, Improved Initiative, Landlord, Power Attack, Dodge, Improved Unarmed Strike, Improved Bull Rush. If I take Fighter for the next two levels, I'll be behind by one feat, which means that at level 11 my feats will be  Adaptive Style, Blind Fight, Improved Initiative, Landlord, Power Attack, Dodge, Improved Unarmed Strike, Leadership, Improved Cohort, Might Makes Right, since I had to lose 3 of my feats to pick up those. At level 12, I'll get Improved Bull Rush back, meaning that I'll get shock trooper at level 15, when I begin taking levels in Master of Nine. It all fits together at higher levels, but how does it work out right now?

Okay, I've set up a document for the spreadsheet containing the map of the airship. It's the size of a floating mansion. Just shoot my an email and I'll invite you guys as collaborators.

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=p8333rsSQvd6sszwSyTBPDA&hl=en#

EDIT: Features we will need:
Fancy Tavern. Upgrade this to Luxury tavern in future. Normal tavern saves 3.1k.
Fancy Smithy, for bonuses on Craft Checks (not necessary, but with some downtime it'll pay for itself). Normal smithy saves 1.5k
Basic Library(Full of Sheet Music and Guitar Tab).
Fancy Auditorium x 4 spaces(Upgrade to a Luxury Auditorium, perhaps in the future?) Normal auditorium saves... huh, there is no normal auditorium.
Quarters (we COULD function with servant quarters, but do we want to? Alternately: sleep in a commons. Or in the auditorium :D)

Total approximated cost of this monster: (14k900 for special rooms, + (15 x 6k) Outer Walls(Iron) + 15x inner walls(Wood) ) x 70% + 13k Lyre of Building = 97k for this bad boy. Mithral walls would up the cost by 210k, and Obdurium would up it by 630k. Making it entirely out of wood would reduce the cost by 75k, but that'd probably be a poor idea, and not be metal at all. At level 12 or so, Obdurium is totally doable with a 6 people paying in + double WBL contributions + tripling of the WBL when you craft things (just add downtime).

EDIT: Oh shit, I didn't allow for what SPEED we need. How fast should we go? I vote for Incredible speed, because the speed scales well relative to cost. With speed factored in, it costs us... 377k. Crap.

Well, once everyone's level 10, we'll have 300k, meaning that every person needs to contribute 7k from their WBL to have it at 10th level. This assumes that 6 people put in. I know Bowen, me, and my Cohort are confirmed, who else is paying in?

Adding larger bedrooms takes up mansion space. We also need to buy some spell turrets, I'll go calculate those costs now.

EDIT: Okay, the large area at the bottom is the basic map of the airship. The Stronghold Spaces are separated fairly well, and the big purple thing in the center is obviously our auditorium. We fly around in this thing playing loud metal music. We profit.

If you see a room you like, tell the group what you'd like that room to be dedicated to. Dedicated rooms:

Big Purple Room: Auditorium(Fancy), seats 120.

Suggestions:

I suggest the lime green and forrest green rooms become areas for craftin' shit.

I'll get me a gmail account later today.
I'll start looking through the Stronghold Builders Guide and my old Airship notes as well :)

By the way, remember that we can get all magic enhancements for 15% of the market price (so 30% of their regular cost to craft) ;)

Can't see the thing. Requested access.
A normal Airship costs about 92,000 gp. I wonder what that has. Maybe we should just build from there?
EDIT 2: Heck, the Airship in ECS has 20 miles/hour by itself, which is double the speed of a fortress with Incredible fly speed.
EDIT: Shouldn't there be a kitchen or something?

Also sent you a mail, woodenbandman.

And yeah, we should just start with a normal airship and enhance that further :)

Another thought: Let's get walls of force. Nearly indestructible, and we get a cool view since they're invisible.
Just don't wear skirts. ;)

Meh, just go with a normal airship hull, maybe reinforced, and have the Walls of Force cover the hull. That way it won't look as suspicous :)

Also, Wall of Force covered Ramming Prow :D

Next idea: Make all walls Spiderwalk, so we can essentially have 6 rooms in one. Also allows for funny stuff with doors and stairs.

I've no idea.

So I got Boz to okay my plan, I've got a Cohort Artificer 8, and I'm sorely tempted to make him Warforged and his theme song Iron Man, but that's too easy. I will stat him up later. The point is: He'll have Landlord and pay into it. Also, my character, Alexi, will pay into it.

So that's two right there. Then I think Bowen's got it.

I think I can spare a feat on Lightbearer for Landlord.

Though I doubt he can perform anything with a Cha of 8 and zero ranks in any perform skill.

Just use Intimidate. That's what I do.

Yes, I'm the lead singer.
No, I don't have ranks in Perform(Sing), why?

EDIT: And I'd just like to say that Bowen's character is cheesy as fuck. And I like it.

How much do all those magical locations that grant crafting feats cost? I'm buying those on MY artificer!

Hadn't thought about Intimidate. Heh. I was just going to use Perform (Pyrotechnics), which I have no ranks in either. I do have a +10 on it anyway. Intimidate is much better, of course. (Yay +27)
