Stepping back Navigatrix Omiss nodded, Sir... Dropping out of warp into realspace on a certain vector is one thing... dropping out in such a specific place though, I can't promise it will be possible, coming out that close to something, we might end up impacting one of the raiders on re-entry.

While all this is happening Sola is buisily checking and rechecking her cogitators concerning the void shields and the weapons batteries.... and the engines just in case

Shifting uncomfortably with a potential battle so close at hand Navigatrix Omiss says So what are your orders Captain, am I bringing the ship in close range?

Sighs dejectedly, yes Captain, if I get there first I'll give the Emperor your regards.

Omiss retreats back to her quarters, eyeing the Navis Throne distastefully.

Alright then... Lets see if this will work...

Dultrada sits herself down on the throne, placing the binding crown on her head allowing it to cover her third eye, linking with the Machine Spirit of The Tiamat. Opening a vox channel to engineering she calls down the Enginseer.

Hey Cogs! See if you can give me some more juice from the Warp engine, the Captain wants me to do something crazy again and I'm gonna need all the power I can get.

Sola hears and obeys... with a little grumbling she starts entering codes and reciting prayers to the machine god while some of her subordonates burn incense.

"Oh Sure I CAN do it, Probably quite safely too but do try not to burn out the engines. They take a long time to repair."

Dultrada focuses, extending her sight out into the void of space, targeting the Raiders as she keys in the rites of activation to pull the ship back into realspace.

Alright then... Emperor preserve us but here goes nothing...
Difficulty(Arduous -50) score 40 + 10 (skill) + 10 (littha's power boost) = score of 60 vs difficult of -50, net 10
Navigation (Warp) for re-entry: 1d100=4
Success no degrees
With a rocking blast of energy the warp folds open, dropping The Tiamat roughly into the correct position, the first target, a meritech raider called Vulture placed directly in front of The Tiamat 9 VU's away, their weapons are not charged and their engines are droning in a silent run, they've been caught by surprise thanks to the deft and risky maneuver the crew of The Tiamat pulled off. Vulture's ally, another meritech called Ignominious Flight.

Switching though different vox channels to give orders to different stations, "Hard to port helmsman. Starboard batteries open fire. Etherics, I want a focused scan of that ship. Mr. Knutta, launch your assault boats."

The Tiamat opens fire on the Raider designated Vulture, a truly apt name given it's occupation, they react remarkably quickly, the wounded ship limping away under it's own power, the worst was yet to come, from a fortuitous beginning there is a flash of light as the priate ship Ignominious Flight also lives up to its name, hurtling through space like a violent spear of the dark gods.

The helmsman's face turns stark white as he reads the targeting exchange, "CAPTAIN! They've intiated ramming speed! We can't get clear!". Over the vox he shouts through to all channels, "ALL HANDS BRACE FOR IMMEDIATE IMPACT! Emperor preserve you on the starboard side..." The cuts out as the viewscreen is suddenly filled by the massive ceramite and adamantine bulk of Ignominious Flight.

The Flight plows directly into the side of The Tiamat, howls come over the vox as pirates begin flooding into the now-exposed corridors. Screams pour over the vox as they begin murdering the non-combatant members of the crew.

Knutta """" & #1 Gretchin Skivva """"

The orders being mega-yelled at the security unit by Knutta is cut short by the helmsman on the vox, "ALL HANDS BRACE FOR IMMEDIATE IMPACT! Emperor preserve you on the starboard side..." as the howls of the innocent crew on the Tiamat fills the vox and corridors Knutta begins to shake violently. His normally green skin is a turning a dark shade of red, viens start to buldge and bloodvessels start to burst under the extreme pressure. Knuttas right eye turns completely red and his knose starts to gush blood. He jumps to his feet shouting orders at a earpiercingly loud level. Knutta completely drowns out any sound except for his own voice and the squelching of his poor quality loud speaka'.
"SHAPE UP BOYZ!! BRING 'EM ALL UP! DA RESERVES 'N DA 'OLE LOT! I WANT DAT ZOGGIN' RAMMA' FING A SMOKIN' HEAP BEFOR DA GORKIN' CAP'N GETS DOWN 'ERE." Knutta turns towards Skivva "OY! RUNNA DOWN TO DA CHANTA! GET'M TO DA FIGHT OR IMA PEEL Y'SKIN WHILE Y'LIVE AN WRIGGLIN'!!!" Skivva knows better then to try and get a word in. He nods and quickly dissapears into the security crowd.
" ITZ GO TIME!" Knutta rallies his "'ard boyz" and starts storming through the corridors yelling " FOR DA CAP'N!!! FOR DA TIAMAT!!!  FOR DA WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHH!! Chants from his 'ard boyz and Knutta can be heard like a storm sweeping through the Tiamats ancient halls.
Knutta storms the corridors a full 20 meters infront of his troops hoping to draw all the glory for him self. He activates his blur shield and holo suit as he runs.
As he aproaches the first scenes of battle it only increases the intense desire to crush these intruders. Knutta screams his war cry as he decends upon the enemy.

Knutta """" & #1 Gretchin Skivva """"

Meanwhile #1 Gretchin Skivva scurries through the corridors of the Tiamat frantically searching for the "chanter" Malachias. He knows that failure means death.. and he doesnt like that idea. He must be lucky today. He happens to hear Malachias from down a corridor. Quickly Skivva runs over to where he hears the sounds. He can see humans but they all look the same to him mostly. "CHANTA CHANTA! Da boss Knutta sayz 'e might need some big wordy guyz in da battle..." he nervously rubs his hands, trying not to think of what will happen if Malachias should say no.
Skivva cautiously stands near the door to the corridor looking somewhat pathetic and scared. "E's dis way... He waits to accompany Malachias.

I switch on the vox to all channels and say, "Crew of the Tiamat, we are being boarded. All security initiate emergency response code B7. Noncombat personnel are to evacuate, E level decks are as yet secure. Repeat, security emergency response code B7, noncombatants to E level decks. Defend your ship, men of the Tiamat! Fight for your home, for your livelihood, for your shipmates, for your families! We will drive these pirate scum into the void, and let their frozen corpses bear eternal testament to our will!"

Finishing equiping his wargear, Malachias feels the impact on the ship, and then hears the screams of the Tiamat crew. His flock. They would need his guidance more than ever. Turning his vox to all channels, the missionary gives a short but rousing speech.

Loyal people of the Imperium, you now face the blasphemer and heretic that turned away from the light of the emperor. Do not falter, and face them head on! Do not fear, and push them back to their vile den! Do not hide, and do whatever you can to help! Do not abandon your duty, or you'll answer to ME! I'll now join you personally in repealing the scum trying to crawl inside our blessed ship!

MEN UNITED IN THE PURPOSE OF THE EMEROR ARE BLESSED IN HIS SIGHT AND ShALL LIVE FOREVER IN HIS MEMORY! TO ARMS, TO ARMS, THE EMPEROR CALLS ON ALL OF YOU!

Then as the missionary starts running trough the corridors brandishing his flamer and thunder hammer, he notices Skivva.

You, gretchin! Take me to where your boss is! I believe he'll already be at the tickest of fighting, and that's where I'm needed now!

Sola opens a vox to the bridge:

"Engines are at full power, hopefully you can do something with the added manuverability and say... not let them ram us again."
she begins muttering to herself forgetting the vox was open
"... you have no idea how much of a pain it is to repair damage to the hull..."
Snapping back to reality a moment
"Anyway, do try and keep us in one piece. I would probably survive in the void for a time but the rest of you might not be so lucky."
and finally closes the vox with a flick.

The helmsman is doing all he can as he compiles reports for his Lord-Captain, he glances at the augur array and the dataslate falls to the floor. The smoking bulk of Vulture boosts into range of The Tiamat. "Captain! the Vulture is coming about and it's... oh Emperor it's sending its own forces, we're being boarded from the fore!"

Boarding vessels pour from the ship as it sweeps The Tiamat, vox transmissions come in moments later of more pirates assaulting the ship.

With the vermin fleeing once their leaders had been killed, Malachias takes a time to analyze the situation. Knutta had died whitout need of his intervention after all, his half-incinerated body now laying on the ground, one of his arms having been completely reduced to ash. Still, the ork deserved a measure of respect. Even as his body melted, he had found the strenght of will to reduce the enemy leader to a pile of gore with swift decisive blows from its massive claw and only acepted death when his enemy was clearly defeated.

"twitch"

Wait, it couldn't be possible...

"twitch"

The greenskin was still alive after that??? Malachias had heard plenty of stories of greenskins being able to whitstand deadly amounts of punishment and survive, but he had never witnessed it first-hand! Yet, the stories also told that even orks demanded some measure of medic care after extreme injuries, their "painboyz". An ork head could suposedly survive for minutes on its own, but if not properly stiched to a new body, it would die.

"twitch"

Time slowed down. Malachias could easily finish the ork. But was that his duty? Wasn't Knutta a fellow crew member? Hadn't the emperor just smiled upon the greenskin by leting him survive in return for having done his job defending the Tiamat? And he still needed more material to do his research... Orks were suposed to have some measure of militaristic honor. If Malachias saved him, the ork would surely feel in debt to him right?

"Damnit, greenskin, you better be worth all this effort!"

Attaching his flamer to the belt, Malachias bends over and carefully picks up the uncoscious ork on his back thanks to his mechanically enanched strenght, carrying him to the nearest medical quarters. He had never studied ork anatomy but surely it couldn't be that diferent from an human one. Worst came to worst, Malachias could still get a valuable vivissection out of the deal.
Carry Knutta to the medic bay and perform some Medicae on him. I got a bonus of +80 (+40 from Int stat, +20 trained skill, +20 kit)

"Fight on my crewmen, my brothers! Even now the enemy is being driven from our hallowed decks. We have been battered, but are not beaten, not by any means! So fight on! We will not be defeated by pirate scum! They come to kill us, to steal our livelihood and enslave our families, but it shall not be so! Fight on, my comrades, fight on!"
After voxing my message to inspire the crew, I activate the ship's vox to hail the bridge of the Vulture.
"This is Lord Captain Antonias Dragmar of the Rogue Trader vessel the Tiamat to whoever leads this pirate rabble. Your ship is badly damaged and a third of your crew is slain. Your boarding party has made no headway, and it only a matter of time before they are crushed like the roaches they are. Conversely, we have taken only minor damage and few losses. Even with your ally, you cannot win this fight. Even if, by some miracle, you were to survive and escape, what would you be but easy prey for the next opponent to run across you, perhaps even the Ignominious Flight. It is said, after all, that there is no honor among thieves. Food for thought, pirate."
What characteristic should I use for the intimidate skill in this situation, because the book says that you use intelligence or fellowship in place of the basic strength when you are coercing your target in some other way than via physical intimidation. I'm not trying to scare them by being bigger and stronger, I'm pointing out that my ship is bigger and stronger, so what do you want me to roll against?

((Fellowship, you're coercing them by force of personality rather than by superior wit.))

The crew reports the pirates retreating to their assault boats though it appears that The Vulture is preparing to already retreating. Too far from the massing craft to pick them up, your navigatrix notifies you that a warp field is opening around them, they're retreating. The Ignominious Flight is likewise falling back at full thrust to nurse it's own wounds. You could give chase but the Flight is significantly faster than you thanks to it's smaller and lighter Hull.
