Even with the delay of the pirate attack and subsequent repairs The Tiamat makes good time through the warp, the tides being somewhat more favorable as they are wont to do on occasion. The journey which was originally projected at approximately 25 solar standard days in fact took only two weeks, the good omen of such a voyage being regarded quite well by the crew ((+2 morale)).

"Captain, this is Navigatrix Omiss, we're in line with the projected vector, no threats detected, permission to begin translation back into realspace."

"Permission granted Navigatrix."
On all vox channels, "We have arrived at our destination. Standby to renter realspace."
To Jarvis, "I wish to speak to you regarding Renudo's local populace."
To cargo bays, "Begin preparing the landers to transport our cargo planet-side."

The dull grey planet of Renuto comes into view on the holo, it's a rather dead looking planet which is part of what makes it such a useful retreat for the less-than-reputable members of certain noble families. There is absolutely no reason for anything, human or xenos, to live here. As you enter orbit your helmsman delivers the command codes that guarantee passage and alert the exiled nobles that the ship in orbit is a friendly.

Captain Dragmar: You proceed to the lower holds where Jarvis is readying the containers for transport. There are several hundred of the massive plasteel containers to move and delivering them will be, although uncomplicated, very tedious.

"Aye Cap'n, wot can ah do for ya sah?" Jarvis snaps a quick salute before returning to one of his interminable checklist.

Prime Enginseer Sola: The Transport is rather old even by imperial standards, it's a noble beast of a shuttle and has always done good work, though it requires more-than-usual coaxing, it refuses to work properly for any of the younger tech-priests which is why you are currently huddled under the main console doing the primary diagnostic. ((tech-use test))

+Honored Enginseer+ one of the tech-priests interrupts, his speech the whirring and clicking of the sacred Techna Lingua of the Mechanicus +We have discovered an anomaly in the shuttles guidance system, what are your wishes?+

Missionary Thalrissian: You are nearly done preparing for the journey, the nobles of the planet Renudo are far from the light of Him on Earth, it would do them some good to hear a full sermon for a few days before The Tiamat's departure. Your place in the medbay is well founded, there are many who would've fallen in the last battle were it not for your skill, the Ork even now lays sedated on one of the medical slabs. You suppose it's time to awaken him and inform him of the current status of the ship. ((Medicae test))

Knutta: You wake up with a pounding headache, the last thing you remember is burning pain and hitting the ground, also the pirate you were charging coming apart in your power klaw, that was satisfying. Malachai is leaning over you, apparently checking your vitals, you twitch your right arm and hear the whirring of micro-servos, you look over to see a powerful metal arm where your original one once was.
((Since you haven't been able to go anywhere to 'acquire' a better one the cybork replacement functions as a normal quality arm with no bonuses or penalties.))

and count myself king of infinite space

Knutta and #1 Gretching Skivva

Knutta was laying on the table snoring loudly. He suddenly stops snoring and begins to slightly twitch. His muscles flex and his power klaw starts snapping and moving.
Quietly as if sleep talking to him self Knutta says Stomp 'em inta jam an jelly 'ack 'em t'guts an gristle an gore! rip off dey 'eads an empty da rest... HAHA Da best fings d'noise dey makes when dey gets squished. Knuttas eyes start to slowly open, still unaware of his surroundings he continues on but this time at his normal loudness Yeah crush dat blud bag BWAHAHA HAHHH HAHAHHHH  HARRRGGHH

Skivva jumps up from the corner he was standing in and starts poking Knutta in the face with a long thing piece of scrap metal he must of found some where. BOSS BOSS!!! I wuz finkin' da 'ole time youd be ok :D. An look boss!! Skivva stops poking the Nob in the face and starts clanking the scrap metal up and down Knuttas new metal arm. *tink clank tink tink tink tink scrrraaaaaatch*
Knutta starts to sit up and focus his eyes. He was about to slap the zogg out of Skivva but then he noticed what Skivva was clanking on, a new shiney metalic arm. Mysteriously right where his usuall very Orky arm would be. Knutta nearly chokes with surprise.
GLARKKKK! WOS DAT DEN?? DAT FINGS FER 'UMANS YEW ZOGGIN NURK! NOW DA 'ARD BOYZ IZ GONNA FINK IM A BLEEDIN 'UMAN!!!!! Knutta looks to Malachias and Skivva in disbelief
Skivva starts stammering, trying to calm down his war boss.   no no no boss! dats not true! dat dont make you 'uman too...  Knutta starts ripping all the wires and things off of him, he jumps up out of the hospital bed. His loud speakka automatically kicks on as he starts screaming down onto Skivva
YEW SURE? I GOT AN 'EAD AN TWO ARMS AN LEGS LIKE A 'UMAN NOW!!! DIS AINT BLEEDIN' ORKY!!!  YOU STINKY 'ORRID LITTLE GROTT! I CANT FINK OF NUTTIN' WIV YEW
Skivva overcome with fear starts poking Knuttas metal arm again with the piece of scrap hes carrying and interrupts Knutta by saying oy! i can fink of sumthin.. He however didnt get to finish that thought. Knutta picks up Skivva with his power klaw and crushes him into a pulpy mess. He throws whats left of the corpse down by Malachias' feet and starts to storm out of the room cursing and muttering about 'Orkifying' the new arm.

To Jarvis "While our cargo is being unloaded, I'd like you to put out some feelers in regard to acquiring some items of interest. While this barren rock may have no manufacturing capability, I refuse to believe that three noble households retain no artificers, and it strikes me that such a backwater would be an ideal place to have some work done quietly."

Malachias watches with cold eyes as the ork gets up in a rage and kills its own lieutenant and then throws it at his feet. Fascinating, that orks and humans shared the same treatment for insubordination. Then before the ork can exit the room the missionary hands him a massivee dossier full of scribed parchments.

Here, Knuta the casualities, wounded and recovered reports, plus the current medbay supplies. As you're the ship's top medic I expected you'll want to have a look at this. You've been out for quite some time but I managed to take care of the crew's health while you were recovering. I understand that arm may not be to your standards of "orkyness", but it was the best that was available at the time. Now if you excuse me I have to attend back to my missionary duties. This isolated planet will surely have a lot of souls that thirst for the emperor's light, and I must provide them with proper nourishment.

Not caring much if the ork acepts the dossier is acepted or not (he had made a couple of copies for the ship's archives and his personal recordings of course), Malachias returns to his quarters, taking some of his old chant collections togheter with some new parchments, preparing righteous sermons to captivate the planet's masses with the emperor's holy word!

Sola begins the startup sequence for the shuttle, reciting the holy litanies of the ordo mechanus and the divine incantations of the machine god.
Lights flash across the consoles as the pre flight checks begin.

Turning to the tech prist, whilst still operating some incredibly complex machines without looking.
"Do we have any details on this anomaly? Is it likley to threaten the shuttle or are you in the mood for a quick trip out of an airlock for disturbing me?"

The tech-priest bows low to the Enginseer Prime.

+I apologize for disturbing your litanies honoured Enginseer, the anomaly lays in the Augur Array, it could cause problems with correctly landing.+

"In that case is there anything we can do about it in the immediate future?" she asks the tech priest.
Mumbling to herself: "If its only a simple defect we should be able to repair it in relatively good time, if we have to replace the whole array we might be in trouble"

With this she gets up and gestures for her new least favorite subordinate to take her to lead her on.

The tech-priest leads you to a nearby console containing a multitude of read-outs.

+If you will note the variations in the augur patterns it looks as though there are certain dead zones within it's array field+ He states mechanically, ((roll common lore: tech))

+We found them while running the routine pre-flight diagnostic, we attempted to reconfigure but the anomaly remains persistent.+

"Let me have a look at that." Sola approaches the console and begins trawling through the readouts.

"A decent gunsmith would be appreciated, but what I'm really interested in is someone who works in specialized cybernetics. I doubt these nobles would stay here without someone who could patch them up after a duel or a drunken accident."
I'll smile at Jarvis, then continue, "Well, I won't keep you from your duties any longer, Mr. Stelle. I'm sure that the inhabitants of this Throne forsaken rock will be wanting to speak with me soon. Take care of yourself, Mr. Stelle, I rely on you a great deal." :thumb

At this time the Lord-Captain recieves a missive from the planet below in response to the command code broadcast.

"........*static*....incations... ...ailing... ....roblem with ....m tower... *static for a minute*....ost conta.... ....avern.... ...am... ...ve.... es...... we are.... ed.... ....peror....-"

After which the comm line fails completely, the broadcast is frequency is filled with static, probably a severe issue with the comm tower, it wouldn't be the first time, unfortunately due to the weak nature of the crust rockfalls and avalanches commonly take out bits of machinery, they may have been unlucky and had their comm amplifier damaged or it could be a routine technical issue that their tech-priests haven't been able to sort out.

Your helmsman finds the docking codes within the transmission however, they're probably on auto-cycle so they came through automatically with the transmission, garbled though it was.

To the vox crew, "Try again to contact the surface. If you can't connect with the control tower, then try some other frequencies and see if we can link to any other channels. I don't care what it takes, but get me in contact with that planet!"
To the auspex crew,"Scan the planet and find out what's going on. We didn't come all this way to drop into the middle of a cult uprising or a plague or some such nonsense."
To Knutta and Malachai, "Confessor Thalrissian, Mr. Knutta, I'd like to speak to the two of you in regard to planet-side conditions, if you would be so kind."

In the Hangar Bay:

The read-out from the display seems innocuous enough, your practiced eye catches several disparities though, your newest irritation is correct, the layout of these readings suggest a moderately severe error in the augur array's machine spirit. Enough so that that landing safely would've been problematic at best and impossible at worst. However your position as Prime Enginseer was not idly bestowed, this is no anomaly, it's intentional, a subroutine has been inserted that is causing minute errors in the code index, small at first glance but each index blooms into other calculations. Using the flawed data that means each of these hundreds of thousands of calculations are each wrong by a small factor. This code is insidious, it is not the idle work of a foolish lay-priest, it's elegant in it's own horrific way, and a heresy of vile corruption.

((Tech-Use at -30 to extract the code and cleanse the system))

((Waiting on Knutta and padre to post))

Knutta """" & #1 Gretchin Skivva """"

Knutta tromps into the bridge and salutes the Captain. " Cap'n. Yew wish da 'ave a word? " He stands at in the saluted position still, awaiting word from the Captain. Skivva meanwhile sits atop Knutta's back fumbling with a stack of papers. After a moment of frustration he puts the medical report into Knutta's back pack and crawls up onto his mounted chair and sits quietly.
