Jarvis remains largely unperturbed as the massive ork barges into the room booming about his 'bomma squigs'.

Squigs'r over in those crates

He gestures over to a disused corner where a large cargo container sits, occasionally a muffled banging sound comes from within.
"Oh God, I could be bounded in a nutshell
and count myself king of infinite space
were it not that I have bad dreams..."

Meanwhile in the Navigators room...

Dultrada settles into the cushioned throne as she finalizes the coordinates, forwarding them to the captains chair and eventually to the helmsman who would be managing the routine of The Tiamats systems, it's ancient machine spirit grumbling pleasantly rides the tides of the warp with practiced ease.

This is Navigatrix Omiss, Warp vectors stabilized, settle in people, we're at the mercy of the tides for the next five days.

"Thank you Navigatrix. We're counting on you to keep us informed of any further developments in the immaterium."
Switching vox channels, "This is Captain Dragmar to Enginseer Orthesian, a status report if you would be so kind. How fares The Tiamat?"

"She fares fine, captain. Transition complete with no problems."
Sola's voice is a strange multitone, as though several people were speaking at once.
"I will keep you informed of any changes to our status"

echo turns to regard the ork " no i am not getting explosives" echo says sighing as the peace and quiet has been interupted once again buy the brutish blundering buffoon of an ork (points for aliterations?)

Five days pass largely without incident, though the strange sightings that have become more or less common though no less unnerving on the ship have seemed to increase with frequency....

Captains Quarters: Antonias
You're sleeping relatively soundly, the dull hum of the engines mixed with the thrum of the warp engines do little to spoil your rest after so long in the void. Your sleep is interrupted by a sudden single bleat of the alarm klaxon alerting you to an emergency vox to your private channel.

Captain! This is Navigatrix Omiss, there's an issue with our Warp re-entry, respond ASAP.
Missionarium: Malachai
The hour is late (or early, it's difficult to tell in the void and more so in the warp) and you have been studying your Holy texts, preparing for the 'morning' sermon when a message comes over the vox.

Preacher, it's Dultrada, you might want to get your litanies, your flock is going to need you in a few hours time one way or the other.
Enginarium: Sola
Time has no meaning here in the sacred depths of The Tiamat. The Gellar Field is humming contentedly, by the Omnissiah's blessings it is safely repelling the horrors of the warp. A a blip of static crosses your eyes, an incoming message from the Nav Quarters.

Cog-lady, you should ready the machine spirit, things are gonna get messy in one sense or another
Helm: Echo
You've been maneuvering the small anomalies with the practiced hand of an old void sailor for the past several hours, it should be time to drop back into the Real soon though, it's into the fifth day of the warp without incident, you're setting the parameters to ready for disengagement from the warp when a Vox to your private line interrupts you.

Hold fast voidsman, this is Navigatrix Omiss, theres an issue, wait for orders to disengage from the warp, the captain will be along shortly.
Da' Barraks: Knutta & Skivva
It's been nearly five days in the warp and you're spoiling for a decent pitch. You've sharpened your Choppa a dozen times since then, gotten bored, then tried to sharpen the squigs which proved more enjoyable, or at least more difficult and distracting. You just finished the last one when the private vox breaks through.

Hey, stink-skin, it's the three-eye, get up to the bridge, we may need you soon enough.
"Message received, I will be there shortly."
I rise, dress quickly - no fancy shit today - and rush to the bridge. On the way I'll vox all the key crew members and make sure everyone's coming.

P.S. - It was implied, as it was one of the "for the ship" acquisitions, but I don't think I ever stated it specifically, so here it is: my best quality navis prima is for use on behalf of the ship as a whole, and Dultrada or any other navigator we may get later may access it freely for the duration of their service on the Tiamat, provided that they don't try to make copies of the charts.

Knutta" " & #1 Gretchin Skivva " "

Roars of laughter, chanting, "oww's and ahhhh's" can be heard from inside the barracks. Knutta is runnin his 'ard boyz through 'da grinda'. A intense training regiment so orky and devious it will make even the most seasoned storm trooper vomit into his helmet. At this moment he has 2 squads of 40 stomping around the barracks playing 'stinkin bommaz'. Basically dodge ball, capture the flag, and full contact MMA, used with squigs that have stinkbombs attached to them via det-tape. The det-tape isnt strong enough to kill but it does pack a punch, the addition of the stink bomb is most devious though. The barracks floor is known to be quite disgusting when this game is over. Then the losing team has to clean the floor. This incentive is enough to have the crew playing like there life depends on it..
Surrounding the two teams is the rest of the security detail including Knutta and Skivva. The howls of the crowd can be heard almost through the entire deck. This is known to happen about once a month, and its not uncommon for passing crew to hear the commotion and join in the viewing.
When the announcement comes over the vox into the barracks Knutta screams in excitement and charges out of the room. He is so excited he even forgot to grab Skivva!
" Bwhahahahaaaaaa ITS GO TIME!!! "
"Boss wait fer' me!!" he turns to the troops " You lot keep up! We be back soon nuff' ifn you aint pukin' da boss gonna be maaaaaaaad" his voice trails off as speeds down the hall after Knutta.

Knutta and Skivva quickly charge through the ship, entering the room first before the other "key" crew members.

"Message Received but unnecessary. The flock always needs the holy word of the emperor to be properly guided."

Neverthless, they may need them more in the following "morning" than in the previous days. Malachai dresses his ecclesiarchial robes, straps his personal littanies compilation to his belt where it can be easily reached, then contemplates the situation for a moment. The message said that he would only be needed in a few hours, but then that meant they already knew something was going badly and would get worse. Malachias wouldn't idle while problem brewed. He would join the ship's main personnel and see how he could be of assistance, or at least record what was to happen.

Steping out from his chambers, Malachias heads out to the Tiamat's bridge with swift and decided steps, while reciting to himself.

"I tread the path of Righteousness. Though it be paved with broken glass, I will walk it barefoot; though it cross rivers of fire, I will pass over them; though it wanders wide, the light of the Emperor guides my step."

Knutta """" & #1 Gretchin Skivva """"

Knutta stands near the entrance to the bridge hovering near the doors waiting anxiously on the Captains arrival. Skivva sits atop his shoulders in a tiny chair thats mounted onto the back of Knuttas 'eavy armor.
The door to the bridge slides open and in excitement Knutta's loud speaker kicks on and in a ear piercing squelch he bellows
"CAP'N ON DEHHHHHK!!" he looks dissapointed for a moment. Then perks right back up. "Oy! Itz da preacha man." "'E sayin one of 'es poems.. 'E a good chanta eh boss? 'E should be da chanta wiv us when we gonna smasha" Knutta gives Malachias a friendly slap on the back while he shouts at Skivva. "Shut y'neck Skivva an leave da finkin da me." now addressing Malachias directly "Oy lad dat's da stuff Im lookin for. Bring da chants to da boardin party. You'z gonna go far if ya stick wiv us"

While Knutta is talking, Skivva waves anxiously to Malachias and gives him a toothy grin. Its hard to tell if its friendly or not because of the extreme uglyness of his face. His demeaner is friendly though. He reaches into a tiny pocked and produces what looks like an old bone from a squig leg. He uses it like a pencil to scribble something onto the should of Knuttas armor, after he moves you see a very crude drawing of what appears to be a stick figure human standing on a pile of sad faces. The person has some sort of tiny ruins coming out of his mouth area. Skivva continues to grin while pointing back forth to Malachias and the drawing. He happily nods his head up and down repeatidly and returns to his seat. Pocketing his home made chalk.
((Knutta will continue to stand by the door waiting on the Captains entrance. When he does arrive Knutta will announce his arrival on deck in orky fasion))

Sola recieves her transmission and sets about her last minute checks to ensure the Enginarium was fully ready for anything.

Everything looks good here, try not to get any new holes in the ship.

With the crew present Navigatrix Omiss began with a nod to the informally-dressed captain.

We're very fortunate I peered out when I did to double-check our warp vector for re-entering realspace... there are two ships, they're pirate vessels sir, raiders if I'm not mistaken... if we come out of the Warp here they'll detect our re-entry within moments and be on us just as fast... the only other option is taking our luck with the Warp turbulence ahead, but once we enter it won't be safe to go back into realspace until we're clear of it.

"Well spotted, Navigatrix. Now, we need more information regarding the enemy vessels. What is their class? What are their armaments? Do they know we're here? How close to them can we reenter realspace? I want focused augerys of those ships immediately."
I turn to the other officers.
"Based on our current information, I feel that fighting our way through is a preferable option to braving the warp turbulence. If any of you feel differently, however, now is the time to speak."

Dultrada's eyes glazed over into that tired expression she got when she knew she was going to have to explain something annoying to another... Captain you know as well as I we won't be able to get an ounce of information out of an Augury on those ships until we hit realspace where I daresay it will be rather late to make a decision. As for the hull types, I'm not sure but they didn't look military, more like Meritech Shrikes if I had to guess. As for weapons I couldn't get a good look, a lance at the very least but you'd need  cog-boy to give you make and model.

She shifts her feet slightly before adding And they looked old, quite old unless I miss my guess...

Knutta """" & #1 Gretchin Skivva """"

"Cap'n I say we smash da boyz hard 'en fast." He takes Skivva off of the chair on his back and tosses him over to the bridge doors. "Go tell me 'ard boyz to get gear'd up Skivva snickers with delight and charges out of the room back towards the barracks.
Knutta turns his attention back to the Captain. "Ready Cap'n. Lets drop in on'm and show'm our zoggin 'Squiggas' AHAHAHAHHAAAA" He slaps Malachias on the back again and leans down close to his face. With only inches between them he eagerly whispers to Malachias We gonna bust in dey ship'n stomp some in dere hidey 'oles an we gonna turn'm all squirty. BWHAHAHAA what kinda fight you fink dey gonna makes?"
Knutta straightens back up and waits for the Captain to continue, quivering with delight and eagerness he waits anxiously.

In other times Malachias would have burned the ork first and asked questions later, but the captain always insisted he was trustworthy, and so far the green beast seemed indeed to be on their side and eager to do his job, and that deserved respect. Even tough xenos alliances were considered heresy, there were plenty of records of orks mercenaries used to great effect for the glory of the emperor, altough the details were always hazy. Malachias had decided soon after joining the Tiamat that this was an unique oportunity of carefully recording such kind of alliance first-hand. It would lead to a manuscrpit of great value in the future, even if Malachias was deemed a radical on the process.  Now if at least he could find a way to teach the ork some proper manners...

"Yes you could say I'm the "chanta" of this ship, but I prefer the term "Chief Confessor" or "Ministorum Priest". And I'll fight at your side if it means cleansing the enemy of the immortal emperor, but I seek no glory for myself, only for the emperium of men. "

Then the missionary turns  to the captain with an hard face.

"My liege, I completely support facing the enemy head on instead of atempting to evade combat, specially when it means risking warp turbulence. The emperor offers us an oportunity of smiting faithless scum, and we should feel grateful for that, for in destroying those pirates we'll save countless lesser-armed vessels that could fall prey to them in the future.  Not to mention if they're ancient models, the bigger the chance we find something "interesting" inside them. Let Knutta ready the men physically, and I'll make sure their spirits are ready for the combat."

Then back to Knutta to his second comment.

"I don't know how they will fight, as raiders are a chaotic enemy that relies in dirty tricks, but I know as long as we hold our faith strong we will prevail over those honorless vermin."

Omiss glares at Echo for a moment, briefly considering letting him get a good glimpse of her Third Eye before concluding that executing the ships Void Master wouldn't be the best plan long-term.

Huffing up she crosses her arms. I'm sorry, I was unaware you had the ability to peer into the illimitable tides of the sea of souls or indeed the power to pierce the veil of dimensions to glimpse what lies beyond in realspace. Do enlighten me.

Stepping in to diffuse a fight between our void master and our navigator, I say, "It seems we are in agreement to fight then. That being the case, I would like to reenter realspace with one of the enemy ships in the line of fire between us and the other, so that we can take the initiative to destroy one with minimal interference from the other. Have all assault boat squadrons prepare for launch. Mr. Knutta, get your 'ard boyz outfitted and loaded onto the assault boats. Ships that small should be unable to carry assault craft, so there should be no need for an interceptor escort. At the same time as Mr. Knutta's hit and run attack, Mr. Echo will unload with our plasma broadside in a massed salvo. If all goes well, a second attack, coordinated between another broadside salvo and our bomber squadrons may finish the first enemy ship, at which point we will evaluate the situation. While this takes place, Enginseer Orthesian will standby to perform any emergency repairs that we may need, and Confessor Thalrissian will prepare the crew to repel boarders. Now, does anyone see any flaws in this plan, or have any other tactical input to add?"
