@ Da Craw -- Would prefer not having different suggestions, unless it's upgrades. Like I said, you guys (not you personally obviously) were the ones who built them so there must have been a reason. It's on the Min/Max board somewhere. Don't know whereabouts it is exactly. Not only that, these PCs are going to be meant specifically for people who are playing D&D 3.5 simply because they have no other choice, and are looking for a beginner friendly game, and would leave if things were too difficult. I've seen it many times before. They've only dabbled in 4th Ed, played a little Pathfinder, and left 5 minutes later because the character sucks due to him not being able to use any Daily Powers, and that 4th Ed is the greatest, and anyone who doesn't like that system fails at life.
@ Mixster -- The force bow enhancement would be fine. Don't forget that if a cleric uses Greater Magic Weapon, it can still be dispelled.
I already linked to them... did you not see or am I misreading your post?
Misreading my post.
Is this core only?
Because a changeling dual-focused-specialist 3/war weaver 5/shadowcraft mage 10/archmage 2 would be killer here.
Pretty much Core only. That character probably would be killer, but they're not allowed. Well, the war weaver 5/shadowcraft mage 10 part definitely isn't.
Limitations:
1) No Pun-Pun, venerable dragonwrought kobolds, Infinite loops, typical dirty trick idiocy, or other combinations which breaks a game and are considered "broken". Seriously.
2) Stats will be built with the 32-point system* as per the DMG, and all characters have 190,001 XP (20th level), with 760,000 gold. If your character has a companion (animal companion, mount, familiar), add another 16,000 gold that's to be spent specifically on them.
*NOTE: For those who want as few LA as possible, you may take the E6/E8 variant. +0 32, +1 25, +2 18, +3 10, +4 00. If it's got more LA than +4, you'll have to take what's left.
3) Choose any alignment necessary for the classes. Favored classes for racial XP penalties is a factor. Beware when multi-classing.
4) Hit Points will be over half die progression (ie d4=3; d6=4; d8=5.5; d10=6.5; d12=8), rounded up.
5) All characters will have a death threshold of CON score+HD instead of -9. This makes Diehard that much more important/valuable a feat. If you are reduced to 1 point beyond that, you still die.
6) Books that are allowed are: all the "Complete" books, the core books (including all monster manuals), Cityscape, Dragon Magic, Draconomicon, Dungeonscape, the "Races" books (minus Eberron), Libris Mortis, Magic Item Compendium, Miniatures Handbook, Spell Compendium, Unearthed Arcana (exceptions), Expanded Psionics Handbook, Savage Species, and Tome of Battle (see rule #11 on class changes). The Slayer prestige class from the SRD will be used over the Expanded Psionics book version.
7) No Thrallherd class or Leadership feat. If you're a summoner, only a max of five (medium-sized) can go with you to the location (as per the rules of teleport).
8) No building your character based around the idea of joining a team. As far as you know you're the only one being contacted. You may join a few survivors, including the aristocrat who's summoning you, but that's not a guarantee. This means no taking group feats, or group based buffing spells. Group healing spells are fine.
9) a) All races available in the books in Rule 3 are allowed. Unearthed Arcana Bloodlines and paragon classes are also allowed. They do not count towards the E6 buy-off, however.
b) Like the races, you are allowed any template (eg. winged creature, half elemental, half-dragon, etc) from the allowed books. These can be added to the total E6 LA buy-off should you choose that route. The Feral template is LA +2 (paragon classes count towards racial HD).
c) Racial substitutions are allowed (eg. Goliath Barbarian, Warforged Paladin, Half-Elf Urban Ranger, Gnome Illusionist, Elf Generalist Wizard, etc).
Note: Half-Shadow Dragons now do 1d2 negative levels (instead of 1) with a Reflex save for half (instead of Fort negating). If the Half-Shadow Dragon is also Half-Drow they grow wings at medium size.
10) Dead Levels are allowed for available classes.
http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/cwc/20061013ahttp://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/cwc/20070227x11) Tome of Battle classes and the Complete Warrior class, Hexblade, will be as per the suggested blog revisions as per creators Mike Mearls and Richard Baker. Note: ToB classes can't recharge their maneuvres during battle (they can after combat is completed), Warblades are d10 instead of d12, and Crusaders no longer have random manuevres given to them each round (they get them normally). Hexblades have a new class level progression. (I've provided the link here
http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p8/cybervid/Hexbladefix.jpg)
12) Variant classes and class features are allowed, just name the source (ie Paladin of Freedom, Aspect of Nature Druid, Savage Bard, etc).
13) No generic classes (eg. warrior, expert, or adept) from Unearthed Arcana. Standard base classes only. Prestige classes of base classes are also not allowed (eg. PrC Paladin, Ranger, Bard) as the standard base classes are present.
14) The Dodge feat variant will be used. This means that it gives a continuous +1 to AC so long as you're not flat-footed.
15) Original druid wildshape ability, sorcerer/wizard polymorph spell, and psion's metamorphosis power are not allowed. Use their variants, if any.
16) Characters are allowed up to 2 flaws, and 1 character trait, from Unearthed Arcana. You do not have to take any if you do not wish to.
17) Spells can be done with either the original progression, magic spell point progression, or divine spontaneous progression, as per the SRD.
http://www.d20srd.org/ There are no recharges on spells short of using a pearl of power wondrous item, or praying and sleeping.
18) Instant death effects are done in one of two ways, depending on the situation. When first affected, the character will be reduced to -20 HP. If they are hit a second time, while they're still below half hit points, it does 20d6+1d6 per caster level. A vorpal weapon, brain extraction, and a coup-de-grace, still do an instant kill.
19) Don't worry about using the spell, Greater Teleport. The standard Teleport is sufficient. Also, be wary of taking Plane Shift. If you do take it, remember that tuning fork. If you use Miracle or Wish, you'll need to pay the XP costs (which could result in level loss).
