Slight derail into RL but I have found that I can read in dreams. It just takes me "physically" taking the text and hitting it against something to make it stop swirling then stretching it so it doesn't have a chance to move again.

Back to game. It seems like it would be a good place to practice skills though, if anything. Or with GMs like mine who will allow certain things "for free" that are player made if enough time and percentile roles are pass (Such as my psionic character learning to meditate like an elf) it would be a great place to keep practicing combat training.

I broke the Expert vs Monk debate by making a VoP Lucid Dreaming Diplomancer.  Just solve all your problems by going into the dreams of everyone and making them into your fanatical followers, and use this to usher in a new age of peace.  When a BBEG shows up... just pop into his dreams and convince him to be nicer.

Take over the world while having a nap!

Kalashtar are worse.  They don't dream at all.
I am constantly amazed by how many DM's ban Tomb of Battle.  The book doesn't even exist!

Problem with this - you can't read in a dream. The words shift around all weirdly.

That may be true in real dreams, but since scrolls still work according to the rules its possible that normal books would as well. Of course since its not spelled out that would be a DM's call.

i've never had that problem in real dreams....

I'd think the Dream version of a book would contain what you think is inside, rather than what is actually inside, but thats just me.

I wish I could read your mind,
I can barely read mine.

"Just what do you think the moon up in the sky is? Everyone sees that big, round shiny thing and thinks there must be something round up there, right? That's just silly. The truth is much more awesome than that. You can almost never see the real Moon, and its appearance is death to humans. You can only see the Moon when it's reflected in things. And the things it reflects in, like water or glass, can all be broken, right? Since the moon you see in the sky is just being reflected in the heavens, if you tear open the heavens it's easy to break it~"

it depends on how well you've trained your memory, connections with other people, or if you happen to have a precognitive or psychometric or clairvoyant gift.

Well if you have precognition or psychometry you could presumably read the thing anyway without sleeping. I suppose theres a niche application for photographic memory(via autohypnosis) then reading the 'saved' book in a dream.

some people can only access gifts in a dream environment due to conscious or subconscious resistance, belief issues, dissonance issues, and so forth.

I was thinking of using Autohypnosis to have a dream library, but are there any ways to read faster? A way to be left alone in the Library of Congress for an hour and devour it all.

Scholar's touch (races of destiny) lets you read one book a round.

Sweet. At that point just need to get Autohypnosis up to auto succeed level. Then keep a library in your head.

there's a spell that lets you do a take 10 search check in a single round. would help in knowing what to do first.
