« on: September 07, 2010, 08:59:46 AM »
How does Arcane Disciple work in the following cases:

1) Vancian, Spellbook (Wizard)
2) Spontaneous, Known Spells (Sorcerer, Bard, Duskblade)
3) Spontaneous, Spell List (Warmage, Beguiler)

Should have gone in Ask a Simple Question, but...

1. You can write those spells into your spellbook, wether by getting them as your 2 free from levelling up or from copying other sources (say scrolls).

2. You can select them as a spell known.

3. You know the spell and can cast it.

I believe they all have a 1/day/spell restriction, though.
I am constantly amazed by how many DM's ban Tomb of Battle.  The book doesn't even exist!

Why would you even do this? It hurts my eyes and looks like you ate your keyboard before suffering an attack of explosive diarrhea.

If using Genesis to hide your phylactry, set it at -300 degrees farenheit.  See how do-gooders fare with a liquid atmosphere.

You can get around the 1/day restriction by taking levels of archmage and taking the spell-like ability arcana.

Not to mention if it's in your spellbook, it's no longer needed as a feat ;)  Planar Touchstone : Stopping time and adding spells since Complete Mage :D

Or, if you don't mind burning a bunch of feats (some of which you might take anyway), the Innate Spell feat does essentially the same thing.

If you lose the feat it isn't a on your class list anymore.  It may be scribbled into your book, but your bling ain't working anymore.  It's like you can't be all, hey man I forbid necromancy, pass me your tome with all the reanimation stuff, man.
