But I have a friend who is thinking about playing one. I'm going to try and showcase some things to him. He will be LEVEL ELEVEN (ECL13) with his race being Githzerai.

Things that I need help highlighting:

-Getting UA damage dice up.
-Getting Stunning Fist save up and tweaking stunning fist (I know you can make it ranged somehow).
-Disabling; tripping, grappling, disarming.
-Miscellaneous tips and tricks.

If you're willing to help, please cite source material. If you just want to throw down a link to a build, that's fine, too. I can usually dismantle them and figure out what information is there. Thanks, guys!

also to answer your question further:

"-Getting UA damage dice up."
Superior Unarmed Strike .... boosts progression
Imp Natural Attack(Unarmed Strike) ... boosts Die size
boosting your Physical Size with Magic or Psionics increases Die size further ... as well as reach and Str

Wisdom based .... Boost Wisdom+Ability Focus there are some Magic items that also boost it ...a Marshal Cohort with Motivate Wisdom... also for Ranged:

Ki BlastDenying Stance variant can help
Tripping is Strength based ... and also Size influenced ...avoid if Possible, but Hand and Foot, Overwhelming Attack, and Passive Way

Is everyone here seriously that stupid? I asked for help building an 11th level Monk, not X Monk X PrC, not for advice on how to play 3.5, not for a Wizard grappling build, not to for your thoughts and feelings on Monk as a class. How about that feat that makes you have Truespeak as a class skill and go for Word Given Form? You just need 12 ranks in truespeak and tumble, and Combat Expertise

Ki straps, from MIC +stunning DC. Carnivore got the rest. Given how weak the group is, even spring attack tripper should get a passing grade as battlefield control.

Ki blast takes a standard action and only deals 3d6+Wis...so it's terrible, right? Mostly. What it does give is: 1. force damage. 2. ranged damage. 3. a really nice readied action against spellcasting.

That and carnivore's stuff is more than enough options to make a character that can play on par with that group.
