i was thinking if there's a way to use speed magics to make someone as fast as like, 150 foot per turn?
just thinking if this was possible. Is it?

Hey my friends and I are going through a rather difficult module and I need to draft up a lvl 8 Cleric as soon as I am able (in 1 weeks time perferably) and I'm still not sure what to do. The guide looks really awsome but i'm not sure how to approach this (this is my first cleric)

Glorica Fletcher
Human Female Cleric of Bahamuat
Cleric 8 (base cleric without looking towards prestige)
Primary Buffer and act as melee if needed

would you please help me out? I apologize for asking.

You should probably make a thread for this in the Min/Max forum. Also, remember to tell us what books you are alowed to use, what stats she has, and what feats your friend has chosen for her.

Also, why not prestige class? A vanilla cleric gains virtually nothing from staying base cleric for long, so why not PrC out and get some gravy?

I apologize for posting on this one i thought it would be the best place to post. All the books i possibly have in PDF format i just didn't want to offend anyone i'm still not sure if there is a stigma attached to having pdf books as opposed to the actual ones in my hands

side note i forgot to mention i haven't made my rolls yet

No worries, and quit apologizing. These boards exist for the purpose of discussing games, and that is what you are doing. Just post your thread in the Min/Max forums, and brilliant minds will usually swoop to your assistance. It is that easy, really.

Most of us use .pdf books, and to my knowledge, they are all legit. I, for instance, do own around 80% of all d&d books ever published, but I have scanned them for ease of use and transport. Also, some BGs have never felt the need for paper books in the first place, and have purchased their .pdfs legally as eBooks. There is no stigma here against .pdf books, just inform us what books you have access to in your game so we don't waste our time recommending you things that you can't use anyway.

I have an automatic book scanner available to use and slap it through OCR software to automate making PDFs.  I've managed to scan all the old books I've bargain binned over the years.  The rest I've bought as ebooks, or have available from my RPG club's library.  It's a pretty good system.

I hate to bump the thread past 666 replies, given that it's a cleric thread, but Divine Spell Power looks like it might be a tasty free CL boost if you're at a point where your turning check has a minimum of a +6 modifier. It's not great, but a feat for a 0 to +4 CL boost doesn't seem a bad trade if you're not feat-starved. Below that modifier, though, it's a trap since I don't think it's ever worth it to spend resources in order to risk taking a penalty to your CL.
So you end up stuck in an endless loop, unable to act, forever.

In retrospect, much like Keanu Reeves.

First of all i`m sorry if this isn`t the right section but i have a problem i can`t seem to solve  :banghead. I`m playing as a Cleric of Mystra with the Spell and Magic domains, planning on becoming a Dweomerkeeper, but the thing is i really want to be able to cast Wish as well but my DM won`t allow me to get the Envy Domain since i don`t  worship Erythnul nor have the right alignment for it so i can`t take it as a Contemplative.

Therefore i was thinking. Is it possible to use a miracle (as a supernatural ability) at level 17 so that i reproduce a Wish spell with no XP cost and be able to add it to my mantle of spells by level 18? and after that, since it says you need to sacrifice a spell of the same type (Arcane), is it possible to sacrifice Mordenkainen`s Disjunction (with domain spontaneity if necessary) to have many wishes in my 9th level slots? or is Mordenkainen`s Disjunction from the Spell Domain still considered a Divine Spell?

Hope you can understand the question and tell me if i`m doing it right or if there is an easier way to cast free wishes.

Thank you so much.  :)

Well, i figured that since Erythnul is the one with this domain and he is Chaotic Evil i sould at least be one of those alignment to be able to take it. If that`s not how it is then cool   :)

No. Miracle can only emulate arcane spells of 7th level or lower.

Is Envy the only domain with Wish in it? Hmm... Why do you want Wish so bad, when you can cast Miracle?

Well...that is why i want to cast miracle as a supernatural ability since asking my deity to recreate a level 9 spell is possible but would take some EXP which i won`t lose if it`s a SU. and i want wish cause then i won`t have my DM saying "Your deity ignores your plead" or something like that.

It's unlikely this has come up, so here goes.  Clerics get a minor boon through DMM to crafting thanks to page 40 of the 3.5 FAQ:

I'm sure this would have been already found, but you never know.

Is there any way to use the following things to create "shenanigans"?

1) Spontaneous Divine Casters variant UA pg. 64
2) Spontaneous Domain Casting PHB2 pg. 37
3) Substitute Domain spell Complete Champion pg. 128

It seems like the Substitute Domain spell goes out of its way to make sure you are not able to do anything like this, but, there's no harm in asking.

I guess it never uses the correct word "Know" or "Knows" to let you get spells from every domain (couple of different ways to do this I believe) and basically have all of the Domain spells added to your spells known list.  Is there some way to do this?

I noticed in the shield section that you should use a heavy shield in place of a light shield. Is there some easy way to cast while carrying a weapon and heavy shield when you need a hand free? I thought the draw of light shields was for casters to free-action swap their weapon to their shield hand, cast, and then swap back without having to blow extra actions to free up a hand.

Am I missing something?

Many DM's will handwave it off since they feel a Cleric is meant to be able to cast with a weapon and heavy shield.  If one's DM doesn't do this though, there are a couple options off the top of my head:

Shield Sheath (RoS 158): For 25 gp, allows the caster to sheath or draw one light weapon as a free action.  One could probably modify this further to allow certain 1h weapons to be sheathed on a heavy shield. Allowing a 1h sheath on a tower shield is very reasonable.
Shield Gauntlet (RoS 158): Basically this exotic heavy shield has special braces that leave the hand free to hold spell components or do the somatic parts of a spell, but not hold a weapon.  A character not proficient with it can still use it, but suffers the usual non-proficiency penalties.  Since the ACP for a Shield Gauntlet is only -2, making it with Mithril totally negates the non-proficiency issue and in effect saves a feat.

Only drawing. If you could sheath a weapon as a free action w/ it too, I'm sure I'd saw alot more IF builds around.. /eh

Glove of Storing?
It may be a bit expensive, but does have other uses.

Besides, divine spells usually don't have somatic components and you could easily put your Holy Symbol on your Shield(somewhere read about this, Complete Champion maybe?)
Mithral Gauntlet Shield with Holy Symbol emblazoned on it = stylish and useful, besides it won't cost too much.
