The oil only knocks them unconscious. :P

Still, it's fine. We'll drop invis and approach cautiously.

We came to that plan before. I had almost forgotten that we came here, apparently, to just talk to a guy (why he lives 5 hours out of town is beyond me, though).

Huh, guess I missed that, or forgot about it. Sorry.

He's a hunter/trapper, and a loner, according to the adventure book.

The whole knock-out jerky plan was so I could make use of my racial Poison Use and my Darkstalker feat. :P

You'll get plenty of opportunities for that ;)

By the way, where you planning on buying some poison or not? Like I mentioned before, you can still do that (retroactively).

I'll still buy some oil of taggit. Never know when it might still come in handy. The druid's check allows me to get 3 doses of it. Almost 4, but I don't have craft (poisonmaking) right now, so I can't help. 3 Should be fine for now.

Let's see if I've got this right. According to Jorr, the hobbos are in Vrath Keep, and they come into Alsir Vale to plunder and pillage using either the Skull Gorge or this Old Forest Road. Where's the forest road? I see only an Old North Road on the map.

Also, somehow the Snake Chili reminds me of this and this. :D
Sounds good, though. I kind of want to try it. :P

Poison sure would come in handy when trying to screw up an army... but there's no way Kalal would suggest that... being an aspiring paladin and all that. :P You know... poison the food/water supply, etc. They say an army walks on its stomach, or something like that. Right? Although D&D isn't usually the greatest when it comes to logistics. Hell... they could probably just have clerics create enough food and water for them every day...

A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

And then there's the issue of Purify Food and Drink. It might be good for a one-shot surprise to mop up a camp, though. Heck, if we play our cards right and they don't eat cleric-created foot, we might be able to eliminate their presence in the valley camp by camp with this tactic. Still, I wouldn't count on it. All it takes is one cleric to stay conscious through the poison.

Correct.

As for the Old Forest Road, unfortunately I haven't been able to find a map that doesn't betray the location of several important events/sites to you guys, and editing it would still make it blatantly obvious, so I'm going with a (crummy) description for now:

Old Forest Road is a road that, as the name implies, cuts right through the Witchwood (which, as you can see on the map, is pretty big) from (north)east to west, pretty much leading from  the Giantshield mountains in the east to the Wyrmsmoke mountains in the west. It basically follows the Witchstream river.
On the east side it leads to the town of Witchcross on the map, from where there's a major trade route heading north.
On the west side Vraath Keep is almost directly next to the road after which it heads into the Wyrmsmoke mountains. It has a reputation as a somewhat rough trail, and it's probably a lot worse in the mountains, seeing as the goblins probably didn't maintain the road all that well.

I hope that gives you a basic idea.

Okay. Now I'd like to know what all the letters represent, or at least those that wouldn't spoil anything. :P Most importantly, where is Jorr's house on the map?

So we're hypothesizing (in character) that an army is going to come from somewhere off the map, and try to get to Vraath Keep, and that they'll likely come from SKull Gorge or the Old Forest Road? So the goblins in Vraath Keep are just a first wave?

Do we have any reason in character to actually think this is true? (OOC... yeah... but... I'm trying not to metagame here).

I guess we could try and take out the Skull Gorge bridge (The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly style... I like it :D ), but that's also going to screw up trade along the Dawn Way, isn't it?

Then we could just try sabotaging the Old Forest road, maybe even trying to destroy it somewhere in a place where it is already bad.

Well, you've been told some stuff by the townsfolk already, and now by Jorr as well.

In character you know that gobbo activity has increased a lot lately, so who's to say it won't get even worse. You also know that if the ones already present in the area have some sort of base of operations, it's most likely located in the Witchwood, and Vraath Keep seems the most suitable location. According to Jorr the Skull Gorge Bridge is probably the best bet for what route the gobbos will be taking, seeing as it's in a lot better quality than the part of the Old Forest Road heading into the mountains, and heading out of the mountains and going over a bridge is easier than keeping going through the mountains over a trail that is likely quite small and crappy at certain locations when moving large amounts of troops (this is assuming more gobbos are on the way ofcourse).

As for screwing up trade, due to the gobbo menace it's already pretty much come to a stand still, so as far as the townsfolk are concerned they'd rather have you put a stop to the menace and worry about rebuilding/resuming trade after that ;)
