Depending on the poison type, the town Druid can probably help you with that (retroactively).

Consider him to be able to reliably get a Craft result of 23, or 25 if one of you guys has ranks in Craft (Poisonmaking) and wants to aid him (DC10; Craft (Alchemy) against DC10 can also be used to aid, assuming you have ranks in it, but at a -4 penalty on the roll; no more than 1 person can attempt to aid on this task).
Use the Craft DCs that are (IIRC) either in Complete Adventurer or Complete Scoundrel to determine what he can craft and try not to go for Black Lotus Extract or anything more exotic (stuff with names containing the names of critters like Purple Worms, Liches etc. :P) right away :P

Well, the idea was to have some oil of taggit and smear it on some jerky or other rations, sneak over near the dogs, and have them hopefully eat it. But they'd only need to roll an 11 to make the fort save. :/
