You've all been playing your PCs for quite some time now, certainly you've gotten a better feel for them. I have a couple of questions that I'd like to ask you:

1) Has your PC changed at all from your original concept? Explain.

2) Name 3 traits that really describe your PC's personality.

Too be honest, my original concept wasn't much more than 'U.S. Army grunt, deadpan snarker when faced with strange/normally traumatizing things, professional in the line of duty.'...

I never really have an overtly written out background for my characters, just some basic ideas. I like to work things like that out during the actual game, see where it leads and all that.
John did turn out to be a bit less deadpan and slightly more social/considerate than I thought, but I still don't have a real grasp on his personality. I've got some additional background and personality traits I'm working on, but I don't want to introduce too much of that until I'm pretty sure it's something that helps me get inside his head, so to speak.

As for the 3 traits...
1) Loyal to his teammates. They all have the same mission, and even though their motivation may vary, they've all got the same goal in mind and seem to realize they need each other to realize that goal.
2) Professional. He might crack a joke every now and then, but when he needs to get down to business he's dead serious.
3) Stubborn. If something doesn't work the first time, he'll give it another go. He won't accept defeat and keep trying when he's doing something he believes is worth doing, something that serves a higher goal so to speak.

I always envisioned Dr. Loder as someone who could get his hands dirty, but was in no way prepared for military conflict.  I kind of patterned him after Daniel Jackson from Stargate/SG-1.  Thus far he's been true to form, but I think he'll start to evolve further as things progress.

3 Traits:
1 - Bookish.  Loder was the kind of guy who would have been chosen last for sports teams in school, but aced the exams.  Particularly in the sciences.
2 - Curious.  Despite his apparent inexperience in matters of combat, Dr. Loder isn't afraid to go anywhere as long as there's the chance to discover some long lost bauble of pre-columbian Mayan culture.
3 - Good natured.  Loder's happy-go-lucky attitude is hard to suppress, even in the most dire circumstances.

Daniel Jackson from Stargate/SG-1.

I thought I noticed a couple of those traits, especially of the earlier Daniel Jackson in the first 3 or so seasons :)

Awesome :D

never really got into stargate, it was on all the time on sky anyway so I used to just watch an episode when I had nothing else to do.

so far Russo seems to be how I originally planned him, he derailed a bit when girl-Tarot took over but he got better  :p I originally intended him to be a little more suave and annoying but thats mostly my RP skills rather than his fault (bless him!) I also meant him to be a little cooler but as Jace said there's nothing funnier than empty bravado. also he was meant to be a little more womanizey but since there is nobody really to womanize it makes this trait a little pointless

1. cowardly. though he has his moments he would much rather run from a fight where he has the obvious disadvantage
2. snide. isn't easily impressed and if he is he certainly doesn't show it, making inappropriate comments and sarcastic remarks... except when he's pissed off or can't be bothered (i.e currently)
3. curious. Though he tries to show that he's above this sort of thing, whenever something ancient and/or unexplained comes along he loves to make his little knowledge: history checks

Okay gentlemen, here you have an explosive device. But it isn't going to be as easy as a single Demolitions check to defeat it.

If your character's were really here, they would no doubt want to know as much as possible about the bomb, and how it is rigged. So think carefully about your actions, and I offer the following skills as a reminder of your various options; search, spot, disable device, knowledge: technology.

When you THINK that you are ready to us Demolitions, let me know!  ;) Just remember. You CAN get blown to bits if you aren't careful!

so no pressure or anything  :D

I'm taking bets!
who is going to win? the Halcon Bomb or the inexperienced Demolition Duo!?
place your bets now people

Haha, I bet it's the "inexperienced Demolition Duo" who are the two bomb votes.

That being said, my original idea was really flexible; he might be a bit cold seeming or anti-social only because he's spent the last long while behind enemy lines doing saboteur work against the nazi's in their own motherloving country. So, I suppose I was going to develop him based on what the group brings out in him, which are such lovely traits as cynicism, humor, a few other minor things. He's getting to be more open around the group, but he's still the German stereotype professional.

Aaaand that brings us to todays traits!
1) German: Very mechanically professional, he does everything by a patterned order, and prefers organization to improv.
2) I'll come up with another two later... he's kinda... simple to describe, which makes it difficult, y'know?
