Panting slightly, and feeling a touch desperate, Roy places his shield hand on the haft of his club before sweeping it under the legs of the undamaged orc, who manages to fend off the attack to remain standing.

Shaedof launches bolt at one of the boodied orcs, but his bolt skips off their leather armour, leaving a scratch but nothing more.

Guthfrith delays, as his obvious worthlessness is a waste of energy. "Oh, woe...".

Both orcs strike, weapons at the ready. One misses completely, swinging at nothing but open air, distracted by the bolt skipping off his shoulder. The other strikes at Roy, but is caught and deflected.

[spoiler]Players, Round #3:
Roy: Trip counter: 1d20+3=15, Trip Fails.
Mini: Arrow: Miss.
Guthfrith: Affliction: Miss.

Damage: Orc #2 4 damage from round #1.

Order for Round #4:
Orcs: 1d20+4=14, 1d20+4=5

Right before launching another bolt at the remaining orc, he realises he has a far better attack to take down the orc. above all it will only incapacitate the orc, not kill it, so it can become fuel for his ritual.

The grievously wounded orc, seeing his friend captive in the wrappings of hostile magic, drops his weapon and flees, sprinting away as fast as possible.

Roy: Trip Fails. You'd have killed them if you'd just tried to hit them by now

Mini: Grasp the Lifeblood - 1d20-2=10. Orc fails and is paralyzed.

Damage: Orc #2 4 damage from round #1. Orc #3 paralysed.

Shaedof shouts against him party members: Do not kill the orc! I shall use it as fuel for my ritual! I just need someone to help me later to tie him up

Shaedof performs his ritual while the orc lays unconscious on the ground and gradually the little kobolt seems to grow muscles and at the end of the ritual, the Kobolt looks more like a bodybuilder than the fragile kobolt it used to be.

There, now we can go kick some ass!

[spoiler]I used Minor Shroud Self to leech the Orc's strength for one day and increase my BAB to 1. Ritual takes 1 minute [/spoiler]

The fight over, the heroes gather themselves, dusting their wounds and picking over the bodies. There is little to be found aside from some coin and the weapons that the orcs carried.

Clubbing the paralyzed orc in the head, Roy and Guthfrith watched as Shaedof went about his ritual, preparing the ground around the orc before stabbing it in the heart. Gradually the little kobold seems to grow muscles and at the end of the ritual, the kobold looks more like a bodybuilder than the fragile kobold it used to be.

[spoiler]Do you follow the fleeing orc, or head off in another direction?

Roy scoops up the gold into an empty pouch on his belt. "We can divide this later. But now I suggest we follow that orc. He should lead us to more." Roy starts out in the direction the orc ran off in, club in hand.

Vorgon stays in the back, evaluating their they have formidable skill; he did not have to intervene at all. Perhaps it would be possible to save the people of this town after all ...

Renewed from their fight, they jog after the fleeing orc. The trail through the woods is clear, the orc having battered the trees and brush in his headlong rush to be free of them. After marching for some ten minutes through the bracken, they hear the noise of guttural orcish coming from the trees ahead. A quick glance tells them it is not the main camp, but rather a set of outliers, an advance camp.

The heroes quickly gather, conferring over their next course of action.

Need a scout... Roy looks around at his companions. Vargon and Guthfrith would surely trip over their own feet and alert the whole camp. I would be little better. The kobold, however... Shaedof, we need to know about this encampment before we strike. Could you make an attempt to get close to them and estimate their numbers and the general layout of their camp?
Roy looks at the gash across his shoulders. Vargon, would you happen to know any of the spells of the Flonha?
