I, like many, have done some Iron Man stuff with clockwork armor. Making it an item familiar is a step to the right direction.
Would it be a valid target to Awaken Construct, then?

Would there be a benefit from dwarvencraft githcraft feycraft? By that stoneblessed wild soul gith artificier? :P

Armor does not resize to fit the wearer, as stated in MiC it, weapons and I think shields, do not resize. I know weapons and armor do not for sure.

Sizing is Weapons only.

Alternate armor sizes, etc is before enchanting cost. But you do multiply the material costs. (Adamantine, Mithral, etc)

Thus, large Mithral fullplate is 21,000. And for +5, 46k.

What happens if you add Armor spikes of sizing +1? Do just the spikes size?

The spikes get bigger. And you take penalties for using a weapon to big for you :P (If used as a weapon!)

1) Make it an intelligent item (maybe by being an item familiar)
2) Give it a psionic item that lets it use the Expansion/Compression power(s). (Tattoos work, as do dorjes if it has UPD ranks, or a custom item)
3) ?
4) Profit

I had no idea the topic would be this popular :p
"Can I make it absolutely clear, here, now, that I'm only here because the producers said I had to be. I don't like snow, I hate being cold, I hate outdoor pursuits, I hate the idea that I've got to "push my body to find the limit," I can't stand this stupid clothing that makes this rustling noise when you move all the time, and I hate the zips, and the toggles, and all the pockets, and that and I hate your stupid truck."

"Listen. If we make it, look at it this way: you will be the first person ever to go to the North Pole who didn't want to be there."

you'd need one big ass needle to tattoo metal.

If you could find away to give it class levels, with levels in shaper...

You'd have your own escaflowne.

It's legal. All it says is that the creature must have a surface to put the tattoo on (so no incorporeals, etc). You can also transfer the tattoo from one creature to another after its creation. So yeah... in a world where guys can make giant fireballs from bat guano and sulfur... it's not even hard to believe.

I made an arena build that had a few tricks the other day, and one of them was having a psionic "emitter" tattoo on his psicrystal for a psicrystal torpedo.

@JaronK
Hardening isn't instantaneous. The original version in the Dragonlance Campaign Setting was, but the Spell Compendium and the Eberron Campaign Setting versions are permanent.
By clicking this link, you open a pop-up, but I get a eurocent for my current wish, the 5th book of the Wheel of Time series. Please note that this only works if you leave the pop-up opened till it has finished loading. Thank you!

Matter Manipulation still works, although it is expensive.  It does have the nice side-effect of also boosting the hit points, though.

I am constantly amazed by how many DM's ban Tomb of Battle.  The book doesn't even exist!

Why not make the armour out of riverine?
by RAW, even if you could, it would still freeze up.
Stops people from attacking it and paralysing you though.

Tier 5: An expert cartographer or a decent marksman.
Tier 4: An expert marksman.
Tier 3: An expert marksman, cartographer and chef who can tie strong knots and is trained in hostage negotiation or a marksman so good he can shoot down every bullet fired by a minigun while armed with a rusted single-shot pistol that veers to the left.
Tier 2: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything, or the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.
Tier 1: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything and the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.[/spoiler]
