There was also the possibility of killing little baby pun-pun  :pie

(sigh) which then obviously would also be hacked by pun-pun, to keep from happening.

Does: stalemale = win

At this point, basically.  Even being outside the time stream, which a MORTAL ARDENT can do, is sufficient to stalemate anything, as they have effective infinite actions, and can never be a valid target for anything.  It's turtling up, but it ensures survival.

hmm ... well, I like that anyway.

I always wondered how a legit hash-out of the Mirror Plane would work?
Either pp can't go there, or he did and neutralized himself.
Even if he didn't go there, something else could recreate parts of him,
and send that into the Mirror-verse, thus gaining the goods.
Still doesn't stop the stalemate condition. (shrug)

If Pun Pun uses the Omnificer trick he is no longer Pun Pun. He is both Pun Pun and the Omnificer.
If the Omnificer picks up Hivemind and shit, he is both the Omnificier and HIVE.

They aren't real characters. They are optimized theoretical concepts. HIVE means gaining infinity everything by means of Hivemind. Pun Pun means gaining anything by means of Manipulate Form. Omnificer means surviving infinite damage loops and masochism.

Exactly.  The scary part is that to my knowledge with just a little bit of TO (to snag all powers and spells known, which isn't really even TO anymore...) and the Dark Speech feat, an StP or Mantled Erudite can do ALL of this.  As in all the top builds combined.  And still only ever stalemate them.

HIVE requires what, Darkspeech and a means to produce swarms? Pun Pun needs the ability to assume Supernatural abilities. Omnificer can be done with a couple spells and items I'm pretty sure. All of it is doable with a classic Wizard 20 I believe. Or a rogue with UMD.

I've never been fully convinced that the HIVE works.

I guess then it only depends on what kind of "adjustment" it uses.

What specifically about H.I.V.E is 3.0 and how would one convert it to 3.5?

You only adjust where new rules overwrite old, like with the changes to DR or reprinted feats. Class features and anything else that hasn't been reprinted is used as is.

3.5 was a "we're tweaking and updating things. Use whatever we've written most recently if rules text conflicts" change. 3.0 is a subset of 3.5, but they're the same edition.

I think the debate over the HIVE was that the BoVD refers to individual creatures as the constituent components of the swarm. The problem is that this predates the swarm subtype, and the issue goes that a creature with the swarm subtype, while composed of hundreds of individuals, counts as a single creature for all mechanical purposes. Thus, a swarm of rats doesn't count as hundreds of individuals for the purposes of creating a hivemind, it counts as one.

Quotes I Found Entertaining:

Huge amounts of people are fuckwits. That doesn't mean that fuckwit is a valid lifestyle.

As a general rule, murdering people and taking their stuff is pretty much superior to breaking their stuff, murdering them, then not having any stuff to take.

Also, they redefined the Hive Mind quality in LM.

Actually, it makes perfect sense using the LM hivemind special quality.
