Compiling an Adaptations Handbook
« on: November 04, 2010, 09:49:58 PM »
I'd like to compile a list of those various adaptations listed for classes and PrCs. Those are the variants that are rarely fleshed out in the Adaptation section of classes. Some are described well enough, like the Unarmed Swordsage or the Dead God Ur-Priest, others are simple ideas that need some tweaking to make work, like the Arcane Swordsage and the Stonestorm Striker, and still others are just design ideas with few or no mechanical details, like the Non-Dwarf Deepstone Sentinel. I'd like to not only compile a list of them, like the Alternative Class Features handbook, but also a list of suggested fixes to make them work properly. I don't think it's quite enough to warrant becoming a handbook of its own (most of it could be put in the existing ACFs handbook), but I would like to get the information from the various splatbooks into one place.

Does this sound like a good idea?

Here are the adaptations from Tome of Battle. I've only included the ones with actual mechanical changes described or suggested.

Swordsage (ToB 15-20)
Unarmed Swordsage
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: No change
Gains: Unarmed Strike ability (as Monk)
Loses: Light Armor Proficiency
Suggested Changes: If you use RAI that the Swordsage's AC Bonus ability works when unarmored in addition to while in light armor, then no changes are needed. Otherwise, you should make it work while unarmored.

Arcane Swordsage
Status: Needs tweaking and/or clarification
Requirements: No change
Gains: Ability to learn and use arcane spells from the abjuration, evocation, and transmutation schools as maneuvers.
Loses: Light Armor Proficiency, Hit Die reduced to 1d6
Suggested Changes: As a basic idea, this looks like it works out of the box. However, this should have some clarification done to it. Do the maneuver-spells count as extraordinary abilities (the default for maneuvers), spells, or supernatural abilities (the standard for most magical maneuvers). Does the Arcane Swordsage still have access to the normal Swordsage disciplines in addition to the spells? Do they count as having a spell list or as being able to cast spells for the purposes of prestige classes and the like?
Bloodclaw Master (ToB 97-99)
Shifter Bloodclaw Master
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Shifter race
Gains: +1 daily use of Shifting at 1st and 5th level, +1 round of Shifting per class level, Razorclaw Shifter trait for the purpose of meeting prerequisites
Loses: Normal Bloodclaw Master Shifting ability
Suggested Changes: Clarify whether or not you get the Razorclaw Shifter trait benefits (the Shifting benefits that the class normally grants) while shifting if you don't have that trait already.
Bloodstorm Blade (ToB 100-104)
Stonestorm Striker
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Halfling race
Gains: Quickdraw as a bonus feat, ability to load slings as a free action, Bloodstorm Blade class features apply to slings instead of thrown weapons
Loses: Throw Anything as a bonus feat, Bloodstorm Blade class features do not apply to thrown weapons
Suggested Changes: None
Deepstone Sentinel (ToB 105-108)
Forest Sentinel
Status: Concept only
The book suggests changing the class to that of a druidic warrior or a Wild Elf forest sentinel. The basic stance of the class (originally Mountain Fortress Stance) would cause an Entangle effect instead of difficult terrain and the remaining class abilities would be changed to fit the new theme.
Jade Phoenix Mage (ToB 113-118)
Ebon Phoenix Mage
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Any evil alignment instead of any nonevil alignment
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: Change the damage reduction granted by Mystic Phoenix Stance to DR/Good instead of DR/Evil.
Ruby Knight Vindicator (ToB 122-125)
Alternate Deity Vindicator
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Any specific deity that could support a secret Vindicator organization (including Hextor, Vecna, and St. Cuthbert) instead of Wee Jas
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: None

Alternative School Vindicator
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: One stance known and one maneuver known from a specific discipline instead of from Devoted Spirit (such as Iron Heart or Tiger Claw)
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: School access to Devoted Spirit should be changed to the alternative school.
Races of Destiny adaptations:

Chameleon (RoD 111-116)
Eberron Chameleon
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Can be Changeling race in addition to Human or Doppelganger. The Able Learner feat should be available to Changelings as well.
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: This adaptation should be available to Changelings in all settings, not just Eberron.
Loredelver (RoD 117-122)
Non-Illumian Loredelver
Status: Needs tweaking and/or clarification
Requirements: Can be a non-Illumian, must be a member of a secret society or other group interested in ancient lore
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: This adaptation doesn't actually specify that it allows non-Illumians, only that the class can be adapted for other groups. I think the non-Illumian bit is implied, similar to several other similarly race-specific prestige classes (like Shadowcraft Mage).
Menacing Brute (RoD 123-126)
Non-Half-Orc Menacing Brute
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Persuasive feat instead of Half-Orc race
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: This adaptation specifies requiring a feat that reflects a frightening demeanor instead of the half-orc race. Persuasive is the one example given in the book, but others should work as well (such as Skill Focus (Initmidate), Imperious Command, Dreadful Wrath, and others).
Shadow Sentinel (RoD 137-141)
Non-Illumian Shadow Sentinel
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Any race or group with ties to the Plane of Shadow instead of Illumian
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: None.
Note that this allows for groups with ties to the Plane of Shadow in addition to races.
Urban Soul (RoD 141-146)
Non-Human Urban Soul
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Member of a race with cities instead of Human
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: The requirement of a blessing from a temple of Urbanus should be changed to a blessing from a temple of a deity appropriate to the character's race, preferably one that has significant ties to city life, community, or civilization.
Races of the Wild adaptations:

Champion of Corellon (RotW 113-117)
Champion of Pelor
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Human race instead of Elf, must worship Pelor instead of Corellon Larethian
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: You may also want to change the thinblade/courtblade requirements in the PrC requirements and the Elegant Strike ability to weapons more suited to the race using the class. They don't necessarily have to be weapons that can benefit from the Weapon Finesse feat (such as the longsword and scimitar, both weapons that can benefit from Elegant Strike).
Note that this adaptation also allows for other deities and/or races for which a Dexterity-based fighter with some divine powers makes sense to take the class. Human worshippers of Pelor was just the only example of such.
Luckstealer (RotW 118-122)
Non-Halfling Luckstealer
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Does not require Halfling race
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: None.
The book specifically states that "it would be a balanced prestige class for any race."
Ruathar (RotW 122-126)
Drow-Favored Ruathar
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: No change
Gains: Darkvision at 2nd level, +1 profane bonus on attacks and saves when underground at 3rd level
Loses: Low-light vision, Star Blessing
Suggested Changes: Darkvision should be specified to be to 60 feet, the standard distance granted for most forms of darkvision. Requirements should specify that the service to be done is for a Drow community. The book also suggests that nonevil player characters would not want to meet the dark elves, implying that this should also have a requirement of an evil alignment.
Skypledged (RotW 126-131)
Non-Air Skypledged
Status: Concept only
Whether this class should be available for non-Raptorans is not addressed. If you make this into a prestige class focused on an element other than air, you should probably look for another, more appropriate race. Don't forget to modify the Flight ability requirement and the Instant Supplicatication, Servant Supplication, Assumptive Supplication, and Skypledge abilities, too.
Quote from: Races of the Wild, page 130
Adaptation
As written, the prestige class reflects an important event in raptoran history: the Pact with the air elementals. It can also serve as a model for any spellcasting prestige class that has pledged itself to an extraplanar power. If you alter the class in this way, you can leave the spellpool class feature intact and develop new abilities to replace the beckon and cyclonic doom class features.
Stormtalon (RotW 131-134)
Non-Raptoran Stormtalon
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Requires any flying race instead of Raptoran (such as Gargoyles, Half-Celestials, Half-Fiends, and Aarakocras).
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: None.
Whisperknife (RotW 135-139)
Non-Halfling Whisperknife
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Requires any Small-sized race instead of Halfling race
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: None.

Medium-Sized Whisperknife
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Requires any Medium-sized race instead of Halfling race
Gains: Crowd Defense (as Close Defense, except applies when adjacent to two or more foes instead of a Medium or larger foe)
Loses: Close Defense
Suggested Changes: None.
Wildrunner (RotW 140-144)
Non-Elf Wildrunner
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Does not have a racial requirement
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: None.
The book specifically states that "The Wildrunner class is suitable for characters of any race, and you could adapt accordingly by simply dropping the racial requirement."
Races of Stone adaptations:

Battlesmith (RoS 97-99)
Non-Dwarf Battlesmith
Status: Needs tweaking and/or clarification
Requirements: Has a cultural requirement similar to the Dwarf's love of weapon- and armor-smithing instead of requiring the Dwarf race
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: What that cultural requirement is needs to be addressed. The class is intended to represent more than just a master weaponsmith.
Blade Bravo (RoS 99-100)
Non-Gnome Blade Bravo
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Can be of the Halfling race or a Fey of size Small or smaller in addition to being a Gnome
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: None.
Cragtop Archer (RoS 101-102)
Elven Non-Mountainous Archer
Status: Concept only
For this adaptation, race of Elf is required, the Climb and Mountain Warrior requirements are to be replaced with other skill and/or feat requirements, and the Adept Climber and Strike From Above class features should be replaced. Note that this is separate from the Elven Treetop Archer adaptation.

Elven Treetop Archer
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Requires Elf race, does not require the Mountain Warrior feat
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: None.
Note that this adaptation is distinct from the Elven Non-Mountainous Archer adaptation.
Dawncaller (RoS 103-104)
Non-Goliath Dawncaller
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Does not require Goliath race
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: The adaptation suggests some revision for non-Goliath Dawncallers. It's reasonable to assume that only fluff would need changing as none of the abilities are race-specific, but you may want to change some of it anyways. Consult your DM.
Note that this class actually works better as written for a non-Goliath Bard than for a Goliath Bard. The 10th level class feature, Song of the Mountain, only affects humanoids and the Dawncaller himself. Goliaths are Monstrous Humanoids.
Divine Prankster (RoS 107-109)
Non-Gnome Divine Prankster
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Requires worshipping a deity of trickery or humor instead of Garl Glittergold, does not require the Gnome race
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: None.
Earth Dreamer (RoS 110-111)
Elemental Dreamer
Status: Concept only
The book suggests similar Prestige Classes to exist for the other three elements. Such PrCs would replace the Earth Glide and Tremorsense abilities with others more appropriate to their element.
Iron Mind (RoS 114-115)
Drow Shielded Mind
Status: Concept only
Replace the Heavy Armor Proficiency feat requirement with the requirement of the Drow race. Replace the Damage Reduction and Lend Resolve class features with "abilities more evocative of the drow, such as better spell resistance or new spell-like abilities."
Runesmith (RoS 119-120)
Non-Dwarf Runesmith
Status: Needs tweaking and/or clarification
Requirements: Dwarf race requirement should be replaced by something else to make the entry requirement somewhat tougher
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: What the extra requirement is to make entry "somewhat tougher" is not given. I would suggest some sort of shield proficiency given the picture of the Runesmith inscribing a rune on his shield.
Shadowcraft Mage (RoS 121-122)
Non-Gnome Shadowcraft Mage
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Requires being a member of a cabal of illusionists instead of requiring the Gnome race
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: None.
Stonedeath Assassin (RoS 125-126)
Poison Thorn Assassin
Status: Concept only
This adaptation is for Elves only instead of Goblinoids.
Quote from: Races of the Wild, page 125
You could create a similar "poison thorn assassin" class, for example, that was designed for elves, not goblinoids. You would replace meld into stone, stoneskulk, and corrupt stone with forestskulk, tree shape, and perhaps tree stride or blight. Rather than stonedeath strike as a 5th-level ability, perhaps a poison thorn assassin can exude its own poison periodically for a particularly deadly attack.
Stonespeaker Guardian (RoS 127-128)
Magmaspeaker Guardian and Oceanspeaker Guardian
Status: Concept only
These adaptations change the focus on stone and mountains to one of fire, magma and volcanoes or one of water and oceans. The class features would need to be redone and the Stone Form feat requirement would need to be replaced with a new feat appropriate to the new element and environment. Thus the Magmaspeaker Guardian would be able to take on a fiery form or one made of magma, and the Oceanspeaker Guardian would take on a watery form with a swim speed and eventually the Vortex ability of Water Elementals.
Races of the Dragon

Disciple of the Eye (RotD 78)
Non-Draconic Disciple of the Eye
Status: Works out of the book
Remove (Dragonblood) subtype requirement, replace it with Knowledge (arcana) 2 ranks, focusing on some other big scary creature. Change the Shape of the Wandering Eye sensor to look like the new creature being emulated. Found on Page 78.
Dragonheart Mage (RotD 90)
Heritage Mage
Status: Needs tweaking and/or clarification
Change to appropriate racial requirements (Skum as an example), gradually confer some innate abilities of an ancestral creature type (example, Skum would gradually acquire mind-affecting abilities, gain aquatic subtype, and develop aboleth slime). Another example is Aasimar that could eventually acquire the Half-Celestial template.
Singer of Concordance (RotD 95)
Non-Draconic Singer of Concordance
Status: Works out of the book
Singer of Concordance. Remove (Dragonblood) subtype, add similar Organization that has an intimate connection with dragons. Troglodytes and Lizardfolks a possibility. Found on page 95.
Heroes of Battle adaptations:

Dread Commando (HoB 106)
Dread Commando (p.106) - remove armored ease, gain concealment progression (cumulative 5% miss chance each level) when in natural terrain
Legendary Leader (HoB 111)
Legendary Leader (p.111) - remove quick rally/greater command/to hell and back, gain bardic music effects (as written, you arguably get ALL of the bardic music effects as long as your leadership score is equal to or greater than the Perform skill requirement)
War Weaver (HoB 114)
War Weaver (p.114) - it's actually written as a "caution" that it would be imbalanced to replace arcane with divine... but it's there
Other adaptations

Anima Mage (ToM)
Anima Mage has some nic adaptations: either divine casting or psionic versions are listed, and none really require any adaptation.
Jaunter (Expedition to the Demonweb Pits)
The Jaunter prestige class from the Expedition to the Demonweb Pits module has an adaptation for allowing it to advance spellcasting 5/5.
Basically you give up the Travel Power(su) (daily uses of benign transposition, baleful transposition, teleport, and plane shift)  in exchange for:
With a bit of work, this prestige class could be adapted to appeal to spellcasters.
Use the standard Base Attack Bonus for the spellcaster in question (that is, average for clerics or poor for wizards).
This version of the prestige class should have one good save (either Reflex or Will), and the others should be poor.
The prestige class can grant a full spellcasting progression if you simply remove the travel power ability (and all its subordinate powers) and add the spells on the following table to the jaunter’s spell list.
The class should, however, also retain the fast movement, dimension door, and freedom of movement abilities.

Jaunter Level                       Spell Level                     Spell                     Source
              1st                               1st                    benign transposition          SC 27
              2nd                               2nd                   baleful transposition          SC 23
              3rd                               4th                    dimension door                 PH 221
              3rd                               4th                    freedom of movement        PH 233
              4th                               5th                    teleport                          PH 292
              4th                               6th                    plane shift                       PH 262

Nightmare Spinner (CM)
Also there is an awesome adaptation of Nightmare Spinner (CM) focused on enchantments instead of illusions.
Adaptations from all the online classes, excerpts, and previews.

Cragtop Archer does not require Goliath Race.  I suggest you change that mention.
I am constantly amazed by how many DM's ban Tomb of Battle.  The book doesn't even exist!

From all the online classes, excerpts, and previews:

Child of Khyber (Web)
Varied Dragonmark Abilities
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: No change
Gains: Ability to chose abilities from other equivalent aberrant dragonmarks to gain instead of additional daily uses with the Improved Aberrant Dragonmark and Improved Lesser Aberrant Dragonmark abilities
Loses: Additional daily uses of existing aberrant marks with the Improved Aberrant Dragonmark and Improved Lesser Aberrant Dragonmark abilities
Cyran Avenger
Kalashtar Avenger
Status: Needs tweaking and/or clarification
Requirements: Kalashtar race (probably in place of Region of Origin: Cyre)
Gains: Advancement of manifesting abilities, psionic attack or soulblade attack deals extra damage to the Inspired, their agents, and quori.
Loses: Advancement of spellcasting abilities, Avenging Strike
Suggested Changes: Mostly just clarification that the Kalashtar race replaces the Cyre region requirement instead of just adding to it, and the details of the soulblade/psionic attack (whether the requirement that affected creatures must have attacked an ally is replaced by the limitation to Inspired and their allies or just added to).
Demonbinder (Drow of the Underdark)
Transformative Demonbinder
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Non-good alignment instead of chaotic evil
Gains: Damnation points return at a rate of 1 every 5 rounds, but non-evil Demonbinders must make a DC 20 Will save when spending any damnation points or gain a negative level for 1 minute.
Loses: Ability to regain all Damnation points with 5 minutes rest.
Fochlucan Lyrist (Complete Adventurer)
Fochlucan Ranger
Status: Concept only
Adapt to merge Ranger/Druid instead of Bard/Druid.
Hellfire Warlock (Fiendish Coden II)
Hellfire Evoker
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Ability to cast Fireball instead of the normal invocations required
Gains: Advances arcane spellcasting by one per class level. Instead of gaining hellfire
blast, the character can deal an extra 1d6 points of damage per class level with evocation spells that deal
damage. This ability costs the character 1 point of Constitution just like the hellfire blast class feature
Loses: Advancement of invocations, Hellfire Blast class feature
Knight Phantom (Five Nations)
Expanded Knight Organizations
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Member of an appropriate order within any of the Five Nations, within House Deneith, or of the Valenar Elves instead of a member of the Knights Arcane and a citizen of Aundair
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Merchant Prince (Power of Faerun)
Enclave Master
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Add member of Red Wizards and any item creation feat
Gains: +1 level of existing spellcasting class at each level
Loses: PrC-specific spellcasting, BaB reduced to poor (as Wizard)
Noctumancer (Tome of Magic)
Non-Shadow Noctumancer
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: Remove 2nd-level mysteries requirement
Gains: Nothing
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: Should probably also lose the advancement of mystery-using classes.
Pyrokineticist (XPH, Web)
Variant Pyrokineticists
Status: Works out of the book
See The Mind's Eye (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20040625e) for details
Basically, your damage types and resistances/protection change to acid/cold/electricity/sonic (chosen when you enter). Also, non-fire damage types do less damage but have other effects:
Quote from: The Mind's Eye (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20040625e)
Cold -1 damage per die* Saving throws use Fort instead of Reflex
Sonic Reduced damage dice** Ignores hardness on unattended objects
Electricity -1 damage per die* --
Acid -1 damage per die* --
* Minimum of 1 point per die of damage.
** Damage dice are reduced one die type, d6 becomes d4, d8 becomes d6.
Storm Sentry (Tome of Magic)
Non-Eberron Storm Sentry
Status: Needs tweaking and/or clarification
Requirements: Add another feat prerequisite instead of Least Dragonmark
Gains: Ability to use gust of wind as a spell-like ability a number of times per day equal to class level.
Loses: Nothing
Suggested Changes: Abilities that rely on expending dragonmark uses should instead use uses of the class-granted gust of wind.

Special Operative
Status: Works out of the book
Requirements: No changes
Gains: Hide and Move Silently as class skills
Loses: Bluff and Intimidate as class skills
Subverted Psion (Web)
Non-Horror Subverted Psion
Status: Concept only

If you are not going to use a horror campaign, you will have to make adjustments for the lack of the taint mechanic. The feat requirement for entry will have to be changed. Either select a different feat or possibly add a skill requirement, such as a particular Knowledge skill. You will also have to develop a new mechanic for the bonus power points. The simplest solution would be a set bonus amount per subverted psion level. Use this total for the DC check for Lust for Power.
Non-Psionic Subverted Psion

If you don't want to use psionics, this can switch to a magic-based prestige class with a little work. Probably the hardest part will be converting taint points to bonus spells. A possible solution would be to allow the player to trade taint points for spell slots using the standard psionic power point conversion (in other words, 1st-level costs 1 point, 2nd-level costs 3 points, up to a 9th-level cost of 17 points). Limit the player to no more than three bonus spells per level and they can select up to their maximum castable level. Once the taint points have been converted to bonus spells, they cannot go back and switch them around. The shrouds will use an appropriate spell slot to cast. The two psionic monsters will have to be replaced as well. An 8-HD shadow and a dread wraith are possible candidates.

Ultimate Magus (Complete Mage)

Spontaneous Magus
Status: Needs clarification and/or tweaking
Quote from: Complete Mage
Another variant might be one that melds two spontaneous casting arcane characters, such as a sorcerer and a warmage, allowing the two to blend their spell lists in a manner similar to the benefit of the expanded spell knowledge class feature.
Suggested Changes: Change spellcasting requirement to "Able to spontaneously cast 1st-level arcane spells, able to spontaneously cast 2nd-level arcane spells from a different class."
Change Spellcasting advancement to advance two different spontaneous arcane classes instead of one spontaneous and one prepared.
Change Expanded Spell Knowledge to let you add a spell known from another spontaneous arcane spellcasting class's spell's known list instead of from a spellbook.

The Jaunter prestige class from the Expedition to the Demonweb Pits module has an adaptation for allowing it to advance spellcasting 5/5.

Which is a VERY good adaptation, as it gives you some really good spells known for free, as well as some life-saving Class Features, such as Freedom of Movement.

What's the Jaunter give up for this full casting advancement? Any particular requirements?

Heroes of Battle

Dread Commando (p.106) - remove armored ease, gain concealment progression (cumulative 5% miss chance each level) when in natural terrain

Legendary Leader (p.111) - remove quick rally/greater command/to hell and back, gain bardic music effects (as written, you arguably get ALL of the bardic music effects as long as your leadership score is equal to or greater than the Perform skill requirement)

War Weaver (p.114) - it's actually written as a "caution" that it would be imbalanced to replace arcane with divine... but it's there

First, the aforementioned PrC from RoD is Loredelver not Loremaster. Also there is an awesome adaptation of Nightmare Spinner (CM) focused on enchantments instead of illusions.

Are some of these homebrew? Or all out of the book?

Are some of these homebrew? Or all out of the book?

These are all written in the actual books. Many classes have an "Adaptations" section (usually towards the end near "This Class in the World" and sample NPCs) that list ways to adapt the class to different character concepts or campaign settings. This is just a list of the adaptations that are more fleshed out and alter actual game mechanics. Some of the better known ones are often bandied about like actual ACFs and proper variants, like the Unarmed Swordsage and non-arcane Anima Mage.

Many of the adaptations miss certain aspects of the class that would probably be changed alongside the specified changes (like the non-Shadowcasting Noctumancer not removing Shadowcasting progression), or that list some specific alternatives from among many in a reasonably defined category (such as the non-Half-Orc Menacing Brute requiring Persuasive or a similar intimidation-related feat). For those, I tried to include a suggested changes entry explaining what was probably missing, or trying to elaborate on the generalities espoused. If you want to go strictly by the book, just ignore the suggested changes. All other entries for those classes and adaptations are based solely on the actual text.
