Wasn't it 2d4 for a bastard sword in second edition?
Also IIRC the Longsword was better against large opponents, dealing d12 damage where the bastard sword dealt only 1d10. And the greatsword dealt 2d6/3d6.

Very confusing but so very rewarding when you slice up two gnolls as a level 1 halfling, who has his highest stat as a 13 in dex.
No, it was something different, but you're probably close. It did one kind of damage if you used it one-handed (1d8?), but it did more damage if you used it two-handed (and not the 1.5 we use now). I can't remember the exact details.

Q 242 Besides the Energy Substitution metamagic feat, is there a feat that mimics Snowcasting for spells to gain electricity, fire, water, and/or acid subtype?

It requires Energy Substitution though. No good.

Elven Spell Lore lets you do it with 1 Spell chosen at the time you pick the feat.

But that requires Int 17 or being an elf. Hmm.

Q245: In theory, if a psicrystal takes leadership, would it count as having a familiar/animal companion/special mount?

A 245

No. It would count as having a cohort. However, a cohort is not a familiar, animal companion, or special mount.

Ah, I meant for the purposes of leadership score for gaining a cohort.  :)

Ah. In that case, still no, since... well, it doesn't have one. A DM might decide that it has a master, which turns off potential cohorts all the same, but it isn't mentioned within the rules. Technically, a Psion with a psicrystal wouldn't count as having one either.

Q221 Repost
I'm a Psion5 with a psicrystal.  Let's assume my psicrystal took Hidden Talent: astral construct.  Can it then take Practiced Manifester and have ML5?

How else can I get my psicrystal's ML to 5?
Actually, that would only get the manifester level to 4.  Hidden Talent doesn't give a manifester level.

Would it even up its manifester level though? Hidden Talent doesn't give a manifesting class which is needed to benifit from Practiced Manifester, unless I don't read this right.

Q221 B I guess.

Yeah, the armor is the reason  need acid resistant barding anyway.

It occurs to me that hardness 8 prevents any damage from Acidic armor, right?

So, hardness infusion at level 12 brings the hardness of leather up to 8. 720 gp.
Alternatively, make it from Green/Black/Copper dragon hide.  Draconomicon states that items made from dragonhide have the same enermy immunities as their parent dragon.

Are there price guidelines for that?
Eh, the wizard have more money than them combined, he could in theory just use all his money on a fleet of trained attack mules, but then we aren't playing 3.5 but zergling rushing in Starcraft instead.

Q247 Would a multi-class character with two spell lists that enters into the Sand Shaper prestige class, gain the desert insight spells to both spell known list or just one of the classes spells known. What if one side was a divine caster(ie. Favored Soul)?

A235: At a glance that looks correct if you're using the partial save progression right out of UA. I don't like that one, and advocate only adding the +2 for the first class level that has a "good" save. That way, your saving throws can never be above a single-classed character with a "good" save. I know a few other people seem to be doing it that way on here (and maybe elsewhere), also.

A235: It looks good, I think the reason it wasn't answered earlier is your formatting though. >.<

@ Phaedrus: Thats the proper way to do it, if you dont add the 2.5 for a new class or prestige class then multiclassing becomes less efficient, for example a Rogue 1/Barbarian 1 would have 5/6 Fort 2/3 Will and +2 Ref.

No, that's not what I'm saying. You add either 0.5 or 1/3rd for every class level. You also add +2 for the first level that you take of a class that has a "good" save (it doesn't have to be at 1st character level. It just has to be the first time you take a level that has that save as a "good" save). You also get the 0.5 at that level.

So a fighter 1/rogue 1/barbarian 1 (not gestalt) would have 3.33 (0.5x2+2+0.33) for Fort, 1 (0.33x3) for Will, and 2.83 (0.5+2+0.33x2) for Reflex.
