Classes Relevent to a Dualcasters
« on: October 22, 2010, 07:33:35 PM »
I'm looking at making a handbook for dualcasting, it's a fun build archetype and feat requirements may stop you form doing a lot of more 'standard' shenanigans while being a dualcaster, so I think it'll be fun to try and pull something useful together.

I have some notes from when I was thinking of doing this awhile back, along with a list of relevant prestige classes. I was wondering if I missed any dualcasting classes from more obscure books. What I have now:

Arcane Hierophant (RotW)
Cerebramancer (XPH)
Fochlucan Lyrist (CA)
Jade Phoenix Mage (ToB)
Mystic Theurge (DMG)
Psychic Theurge (MET)
Ruby Knight Vindicator (ToB)
Santified Mind (LoM)
True Necromancer (LM)
Ultimate Magus (CM)
Anima Mage (ToM)
Eldritch Disciple (CM) Divine 9/ Invocation 10
Eldritch Theurge (CM) Arcane 10/ Invocation 10
Noctumancer (ToM) Arcane 10/ Shadowcasting 10
Sapphire Hierarch (MoI) Divine 10/ Soulmeld 10
Soul caster (MoI) Arcane 10/ Soulmeld 10
Tenebrous Apostate (ToM) Divine 4/ Binding 4

That's it for dualcasting classes. In addition I have the following marked as noteworthy for various reasons, in the case of Blighter and geomancer simply because they are TRAPS:

Apostle of Peace (BoED)
Beholder Mage (LoM)
Blighter (CD)
Chameleon (RoD)
Demonologist (BoVD)
Divine Crusader (CD)
Sublime Chord (CA)
Ur Priest (BoVD)
Geomancer (CD)
Nar Demon binder (UE)

So I was just wondering if there is anything I may have overlooked before I get to serious writing.

Minor detail, but shouldn't Ur-priest be referred to as from Complete Divine, since that version is later then the 3.0 BoVD?

Eh, I've been having fun with a Geomancer in an Epic game.  Outside of Epic, it's not worth it.

You missed the Soul Manifester (Psionics/Meldshaping).  It's only online IIRC.
I am constantly amazed by how many DM's ban Tomb of Battle.  The book doesn't even exist!

Why would you even do this? It hurts my eyes and looks like you ate your keyboard before suffering an attack of explosive diarrhea.

If using Genesis to hide your phylactry, set it at -300 degrees farenheit.  See how do-gooders fare with a liquid atmosphere.

I think Geomancer in Gestalt is actually worthwhile to eliminate MAD via Spell Versatility.

Geomancer is worth it with PrC Pally tech and/or a fast progression class to tack on with it.  Also, Rainbow Servant + Arcane casting class = Mystic Theurge without the suckage.  Throw on a tattoo of PsyRef usable 1/day and you get a sorc with basically all Sor/Wiz, Sorc only, and Cleric spells known.  Also, if the DM allows said tattoo combo-ed with a Generic Spellcaster from UA/SRD, you basically have access at all times to all the pertinent spell lists (Sor/Wiz, Sor only, Cleric, and Druid).  Sexy :)

I've been using it to DMM all of my spells.  It's also been extraordinarily helpful in areas/encounters where one type of magic is restricted or ineffective.  Some of the Drift abilities aren't too bad either and Ley Lines (Forest) + Acorn of Far Travel means a handy +3 caster level boost for all your spells.

Mind Mage - from Dragon # ?? - popped up in Carnivore's psion guide.
Arcane 8 / Psi 8 with typical psi-weirdness going on.

Monastic Servant of Auppenser 10 is really a dual class but ...
http://www.candlekeep.com/library/articles/leof_msoa.htm
it advances one discipline 10 ML. Combined with Ardent that works.

Ardent combined with Bloodlines or Psiotheurgist feat(s) or MSoA above, is an early entry class,
or a quicker advancement class.
