Souldrinking Weapon from BoVD is another source of negative levels. It bestows these on critical hits, though. I'm not sure at the moment wether creatures which are not subject to critical hits, like undead, are also immune to secondary effects of critical hits.

What happens if a Wight holds more Holy Arrows than it has hit dice? Let us assume it holds them in a locked gauntlet so that they remain in its hand even after it dies (and rises again). Infinite loop of pain, I think?

Edit:
You could make a case for a Sharn Wizard 11 being worse than a Human Wizard 20 because, while the sharn has two casting progressions, neither of them gets seventh- through ninth-level spells and the human does.

Three spell progressions, actually. Sorcerer, Favored Soul and Wizard.

Although the poor Sharn can't use the Polymorph into Garbler Trick, so he has a significant disadvantage there.

We just get Ao to do the sharn like a $2 prostitute, then turn them out aftewards.  Ruined.

Negative levels, while fatal, isn't exactly deoptimizing the race. Just killing it. Plenty of things can kill a Sharn.

I think the better aim would be to try to generate a Sharn that is reliably worse in game (i.e. less utility, combat prowess, skill, etc.) than, lets say, Human CW Samurai 20. That's a serious challenge.

Armor of Arrow Attraction(+3 Full Plate) to not be able to fly and lower base speed and reduce Dex to AC to 0. The Slow flaw is also taken to be a sitting duck (-15 AC vs ranged attacks including ranged touch attacks). He also has a Lodestone to half his speed yet again.
-2 dagger (cursed)
-Helm of Opposite Alignment (for the lulz...he's an HONORABLE Dread Pirate, and a Good-aligned Sharn.)
-Ring of Climsiness (-4 Dexterity)
-permanently purple from a rod of wonder

All other money is spent on pimping out his ship to make it as lucrative a target as possible. It will be loaded up to it's maximum capacity so that a single person boarding it beyond the crew will cause it to start sinking. As much of the ship itself will be solid gold as possible until this weight is met.

Try this ... build the Sharn halfway decent to ecl 11.
Then go on a PHB2 Racial Rebuilding quest, and win it.
Rebuild 3 racial levels of Sharn into Humanoid (or similar).
Repeat until just the first racial level of Sharn is left.

Effectively now Sharn 1 / wimpy Racial X / Class(-es) Y that might not even work anymore.
Furthermore, you can Rebuild classes in the same way , that they don't work anymore too.
Normally you wouldn't even dream of doing this.
Problem ... you might reach a point of sucking so much, you can't do this anymore at all.
Not quite the Sandwich.

Wow... I nearly pissed myself laughing at the imagery there: a purple multi tentacled being groaning under the weight of armor, desperately covering his head as he sucks arrows toward him, tripping and falling, causing his solid gold boat to sink... but he's a good guy. :P

I'm pretty sure they can; aberrations can take the ghost template, so. Pretty huge LA, although since you're already curbstomping the game as a Sharn I don't know how it'll work out in play.
