Q 253 What's a good limitation on archivist's access to divine spell lists? Do you think Cleric, Druid, and Shugenja spell lists are good enough?

These seem to be the only 3 to get to lvl 9 spells as base classes. I think the rest either don't reach 9th or are prestige class spell lists, which probably ought to be restricted. Personally, I feel that Shugenja is pushing it, as they have a ton of wizard/sorc spells.

If you were an archivist player, would you agree that those 3 spell lists are plenty good enough? [as in still Tier 1, but not "completely broken at lvl 1 since I can cast Haste off Trapsmith and abuse Battle Blessing" Tier 1]

Q 248 Is it possible to qualify for this dweomerkeeper PrC without actually taking a level in both an arcane and divine class? I'm thinking of a Divine Magician type of thing. Su spell is so abusable!
The Southern Magician feat will do it. I forget where that's from, though. I think Dragon mag.
Races of Faerun or Shining South. I think it's the former.
I found it in Races of Faerun, but it requires you to be a human from a certain region.
Is that such a bad thing? Humans are one of the best races for pretty much everything... and home region is just basically background fluff. Or does your DM run a non-FR game and not allow regional feats because he's a silly literalist?
It wouldn't be the first time such a DM existed.

I agree with Kevin, though no DM I have ever met was anything like the joy he experiences.

I think you're looking for Magical Training from PGTF, and if you need to qualify with a non-regional race you take 2 Ranks in Knowledge(local) (Races of Faerun, pg5). That should make it all legit.

they removed that 2 ranks local thing in 3.5

They don't/haven't, was the point. 3.5 is as dead as people not liking nice tits.

Sometimes, their tits (3.5) get enhancements (houserules), but that doesn't mean people don't like nice tits.

Though sometimes, the surgeon (DM) botches them pretty bad...

Ehh, Magical Affinity still works.  Prereqs are int 13+; and Raised in Cosdol or Pel Brolenon; or Gray Elf, High Elf, Rock Gnome.  You know and can cast a cantrip once per day for each point of intelligence bonus.  That is, with int 14 you can pick light and detect magic and cast each of them once/day, but not pick light twice.

I personally think that running a campaign to answer that very question would be an interesting campaign. I even wrote up the basics of that campaign!

http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=9215448

Personally, I would give them easy access to purchase Adept, Paladin, all the good aligned paladin variants, Cloistered Cleric, Mystic Ranger, Common Cleric Domains for the big good aligned churches in your setting, Druid, maybe ONE of the Shugenja paths, and Divine Bard (because Divine Bard is a Preacher or Cantor, totally...), but they have to go to a church or shrine and buy them.

I would be wary about allowing the obscure prestige path divine spells.

I'd just limit it to base classes. The real abuse comes from things like Prestige Classes giving you Greater Dispel as a second level spell.

Q 254 Is there a race of elves that can move through earth/stone as part of their racial ability, either per day, or at will?

Q255

Why do people think you can combine subraces such as the Fire Elf and the Gray Elf?
So you end up stuck in an endless loop, unable to act, forever.

In retrospect, much like Keanu Reeves.

Logical homebrew that's not very harmful.

Q226

Can prestidigitation do the following things? Create enough ink and write what you command on a preexisting parchment, then the ink remains with the writing?

It removes dirt but does it act as a full shower with soap and also wash clothing so they are perfectly clean?

They're called mineral warriors. It's a template in the Underdark book. For +1, you get a bunch of awesome abilities, one of which is a burrow speed.

You can do this stuff.  You might be able to argue that you can dirty up the paper in a specific pattern, but it wouldn't really be true writing as such.

Where are they getting the "change" bit in there? I don't see that in the spell description... From the way it's worded, you could turn a rock into a vial of Black Lotus Extract...

actually, it IS in the spell: color change, taste change, temperature change, sewing without thread, etc.

Huh? Is the PHB version different from the SRD or something?

Prestidigitation
Universal
Level:    Brd 0, Sor/Wiz 0
Components:    V, S
Casting Time:    1 standard action
Range:    10 ft.
Target, Effect, or Area:    See text
Duration:    1 hour
Saving Throw:    See text
Spell Resistance:    No

Prestidigitations are minor tricks that novice spellcasters use for practice. Once cast, a prestidigitation spell enables you to perform simple magical effects for 1 hour. The effects are minor and have severe limitations. A prestidigitation can slowly lift 1 pound of material. It can color, clean, or soil items in a 1-foot cube each round. It can chill, warm, or flavor 1 pound of nonliving material. It cannot deal damage or affect the concentration of spellcasters. Prestidigitation can create small objects, but they look crude and artificial. The materials created by a prestidigitation spell are extremely fragile, and they cannot be used as tools, weapons, or spell components. Finally, a prestidigitation lacks the power to duplicate any other spell effects. Any actual change to an object (beyond just moving, cleaning, or soiling it) persists only 1 hour.

I don't see anything about sewing without thread in there, or turning one object into another one. I suspect that it's a 3.0 vs. 3.5 thing, but I'm too lazy to go look up the 3.0 version. :P
