Q 255 What would be a good familiar to take with a duskblade?
Well, ravens can talk, and thus UMD, and they can fly too.  If you don't want to invest feats, that's probably your best bet.

Not sure how that works, but okay.

Q 256 Is there a weapon in D&D that mimics a chainsaw, in any way, shape, or form? Something very jagged, or that can saw though bone or trees?

Q 257 Is there a template or something to make someone a demi-god? Or at least mimic one? Like if you wanted to create a campaign based around a young Hercules?

A 258

No, as illusions are not mind-affecting. If they were to interact with an illusion, they would get a Will save as normal.

Q258:  Are mindless undead immune to illusions like Silent Image?
No.  And since they're mindless, they don't have the logic to say things like "how did a wall get there", although they'll still get a save if they get bullrushed through it.

Q259: with devotion feats, if you swap a domain out for one, do you still retain access to the domains spells... or do you lose both the domain power and the spells?

A259: You lose the domain in it's entirety, no spells and no powers are gained from it.

In my humble opinion, CO is haberdashery. Some say we're mad, but we can all agree we're hatters. Yes, we have potential to make very sophisticated hats, very fancy hats, be they dark or light. But the truth is that the color of the hat does not come from the group of us - our community doesn't directly produce hats. We simply give average head circumferences, list current fashion trends, and point out some shiny, obscure baubles to add to the latest hat line.

Q258:  Are mindless undead immune to illusions like Silent Image?
A258: As others said, no. They also aren't smart enough to even try to save, most likely (if your DM is playing out monsters' INT scores). Silent Image is a great spell for BC on undead, and also is pretty nice against golems that shouldn't try to save (unless your DM rules they don't see the illusion due to magic immunity).

Q260: I remember a while back seeing a homebrew base class (scholar, a tactician or something like that) that cast primarily straight from books, and had a few nice class features. INT based spellcasting. There was a picture of an anime character looking like they were casting a spell out of a book. Does anybody have a link? I've searched for scholar but all I've found wasn't the one I'm looking for.

According to Deities and Demigods  there are 5 kinds of deities.....

Quasi_deity withi Divine rank 0(note that ordinary mortals don't have divine ranks)
Demigods with Divine rank 1-5
Lesser deities with divine ranks 6-10
Intermediate deities with divine ranks 11-15

Greater deities with divine ranks 16-20
and Overgods with divine ranks 21+
All of them are detailed in Deities and Demigods or you can use the srd

Bump.

Q251: I think I already know the answer, but say I use Ice Assassin to create a copy of some wizard who has his own demiplane. Can the ice assassin reach that demiplane? And on that note...

Q252: Where are the rules for accessing demiplanes spelled out? Or are they just implied in the Genesis description?

A251:Since it has all of the original memories and abilities I would say yes except for when the original cuts off all access to his demiplane(he is essentially stranded there)....
A252:Manual of the planes has information and rules about demiplanes....

But it's not the tool's fault if you use it for something else and you fail utterly, such as trying to eat cereal with a butterknife, pounding nails with a screwdriver, blogging to voice your political opinions, and brushing your teeth with a hammer.

Not super powerful. Well below lvl 20 if possible. Divine Rank 0 seems plentiful. Somehow I don't see young Hercules of 15 with 30 HD though.

You can have the divine rank 0 template....
He does not have to have 30 hd if he is divine rank 0.....
Here use this accesory that updates Deities and Demigods to 3.5,It has the  Divine rank 0 template.....

It is on page 6:Quasi-deity traits....

Immune to transmutation, energy drain, ability drain, ability
damage, mind-affecting effects; damage reduction 10/epic; fire
resistance 5; spell resistance 32; immortal

Weird. No increase to stats.

Rank 0

Creatures of this rank are sometimes called quasi-deities or hero deities. Creatures that have a mortal and a deity as parents also fall into this category. These entities cannot grant spells, but are immortal and usually have one or more ability scores that are far above the norm for their species. They may have some worshipers. Ordinary mortals do not have a divine rank of 0. They lack a divine rank altogether.

Glad to see an example of by how much that stat increases.  :banghead
