The Infinity Gauntlet! (yep, its the one your thinking of. . .)

So I was in a game where everyone started with lvl 0 devine template. I decided to burn a huge chunk of money on making the infinity gauntlet. I am looking for feedback on what you guys think (especially concerning flavor.)

So the gem whose flavor is to grant wishes doesn't get wish or limited wish? meh. 

Also the power gem's flavor of making other gems stronger is not really maintained.

LoP's Omni was the first true infinity build around here.
Any previous one was either A.H. arbitrarily high, or trending to infinity slowly.
Some of the ideas could be playable.

Technically a Psionic recharge set-up, is a form of infinity.
You just need a whole lot of time to do things with it.
If you put other limits on it, it can still work.

Unlimited Wishes creates a Wish Economy, well detailed over at gamingden.
Unlimited Miracles is slightly better, but you still miss out on all the fun 9s.
etc ...
Unlimited Fireballs is just annoying.

so let's say Infinite Psychoportation + (teleport) spells/powers is the Space Gem.

Maybe a knowledge skill check would be needed,
and some training time, to spool in the various powers.
Level 9 tele-type spells aren't exactly to write home about.

I understand what youre saying. The trouble is: What feels like bending reality more? Wish, or Shades/Major Creation? From a flavor standpoint, Wish just straddles the line between reality and power.

As far as increasing the other Gems powers. . . hmm, I seem to have over looked that. What do you suggest to get that flavor across?

Please keep in mind, no GM in their right mind is going to let into their game unlimited wishes per day. If my GM wants to run a lvl 20+ epic game again, I am hoping to find a way to make a char with the infinity gauntlet.

the power gem was the most important of them all.  without the power gem they were just moderately powerful relics, but the power gem opened them up to well.. power that was Infinite.

that was the power gems' only ablility... making you, and especially the gems, more powerful. augmentation.

maybe give it some metamagic abilities, like giving it a pool of free virtual levels (based on your wisdom modifier) that can be used to power metamagic feats.

also it made the wearer more physically imposing.  it made champion of the universe far more physically strong while he had it, but he didnt know it was boosting him.

so.... continuous bulls strength, bears endurance, and cats grace?

all the other powers should be taken away IMO.

maybe the gems by them selves only have the first few basic powers. and the addition on more gems unlocks more powers, but you need them all to unlock the best powers the gems have.
and when all of them are combined you get the wish?

[teleport] spells are basically most psycho(tele)portation powers ... its kinda boringly straightforward.
Space Gem

Power Gem could make the other Gem powers into (sp) or (ps)

Time Gem should be Divinations but not all of them.


The 7th gem with the other 6, made the super powered entity that had it,
able to remake a whole entire Multiverse.
That's like Overdeity level, toward Pun-pun-ish.

Soul Gem maybe should be Incarnum, but the color is wrong (wink).

Mind Gem is easily Enchantment + Telepathy.

An absolutly superb idea! I think you just shattered my current idea.

And to the rest of you, thanks for your input! I deffinately lacked some flavor on the power gem. And yeah, the space gem is kinda boring. . . and the time gem wasnt so great either. But now when I sit down to give it another go, i'll have a bit more direction.

I liked the idea of giving the power gem metamagic feats to use with the other gems. . .

I have to say, I am purposely ignoring the 7th gem. Yeah I know about it, but I try not to look at. Its just unnessasary, imo. I wanted to keep the flavor the gems had during the infinity gauntlet/war/crusade>Infinity Watch era.
