Maneuvers and Heroics
« on: August 14, 2010, 07:38:51 PM »
I'm a Conjurer5/Swordsage1/Incantatrix4 soon to go Jade Phoenix Mage.  I can make heroics last 48 hours.  My DM allows multiple heroics active at once on a character.

I now have no Devoted Spirit maneuvers.  Can I use heroics for Martial Stance and Martial Study to gain Revitalizing Strike (requires 1 Devoted Spirit maneuver) and Martial Spirit (requires 1 Devoted Spirit maneuver) this way?

I'm pretty sure not, because of how prerequisites are worded.  I must have the requisite maneuvers to "select" a maneuver or stance, and Martial Stance/Study say I "select" and "choose" a maneuver respectively.
Hood - My first answer to all your build questions; past, present, and future.

Speaking of which:
Don't even need TO for this.  Any decent Hood build, especially one with Celerity, one-rounds [Azathoth, the most powerful greater deity from d20 Cthulu].
Does it bug anyone else that we've reached the point where characters who can obliterate a greater deity in one round are considered "decent?"

You 1 maneuver of any type before you can take Martial Stance. (feat repreq)

Since you have that 1 maneuver (and more) from swordsage, so you can take Martial Stance: Martial Spirit right off the bat

You need 1 Devoted Spirit maneuver to take Revitalizing Strike (maneuver prereq)

Stance count as maneuvers for the purposes for prereqs, so Martial Spirit meets that prereq.  You can take Martial Study: Revitalizing Strike as soon as you have Martial Spirit.
Eh, the wizard have more money than them combined, he could in theory just use all his money on a fleet of trained attack mules, but then we aren't playing 3.5 but zergling rushing in Starcraft instead.

Or just spend 7,500gp on a fused double Devoted Spirit Amulet(Martial Spirit, Revitalizing Strike) and use your two bonus feats to acquire Knowledge Devotion & Arcane Strike or maybe Ironheart Aura / Stormguard Warrior for some truly epic Vampire Touches, ooh right swordsage not warblade or crusader.

No item-granting maneuvers.  The DM is adamant about this.

I think you meant maneuver-granting items...

A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

Reminds me of some Diablo 2 times when you kill mefisto and items start pouring out.
