Caught unawares, Veldor tries to piece together what just happened.  Shadows...?  I'll lay into them with the light of the Silver Flame if they leap again!

"I'll try to turn them when they come out," he says coolly to his companions.
Readied action to turn undead if the shadows attack.

As soon as Veldor spoke those words, the shadows came from the walls and floor again. But this time, he was ready.

Veldor's eyes flick back and forth across the walls and floor, looking for slight disturbances.  The shadows' black forms slither out from the surroundings speeding towards them.

"Hmph," he grunts as his hands open, bathing the surroundings in a silvery glow.
Turn undead: Charisma check to determine HD (1d20+4=20)
Can affect cleric level (5) + 3 = [8] CR (right, instead of HD?) creatures maximally.
Turn undead: Turning damage roll (2d6+9=15)
Then 15 worth of CR to distribute among shadows as they advance on us.
That can turn one shadow, as they're CR 8.
One of the forms rapidly retreats back into the floor away from Veldor. The rest continue their assault on the remaining party members, flailing at them with darkened limbs, before retreating back into the walls. Nobody seemed harmed by the attack, however.
Same as before, except no attack on Veldor.

Bertha: 1d20+6=9, 1d20+6=7, so epic fail is epic.
Meepo: 1d20+6=14, 1d20+6=8, so epic fail.
Nox: 1d20+6=16, 1d20+6=19, so nothing.

Great. Go Barry, start tootin' yer horn. For porn.
"Hmph. Great." Barry steps forward, eyeing the shadows grumpily. Not exactly what the group is best equipped to fight. Instead of starting to play on his horn as he does normally, Barry steps forward and places his hand lightly on Meepo's head (as he cannot exactly reach his shoulder without bending over more than his armor allows), chanting a short spell. "Given past experiences, I think you'll need this."
Barry casts Body Ward on Meepo, negating the next five points of Str damage he takes.
The presence of two shadows seems to depart from the place, and a loud hissing fills the room.

"Shhh. Calm down, girl," Bertha says gently as she simply sits down, content to wait for the last shadow to emerge again. As the goup waits out, a soft yellow glow escapes the woman-turned-bear's teeth, as if she were holding a glowing orb in her mouth. When the shadow at last shows its head, Bertha swiftly smites it with a beam of positive energy.
Bertha readies an action to turn the shadow's ass.

The blast sends the shadow running back into the walls, making a horrible hissing noise.

Noxatra seems to deflate somewhat at Bertha's comment, but you can still anger in her eyes as she turns back towards the group. She mutters something to herself, but you catch the words and . Meepo then catches her eye,

Meepo tosses a rag at Noxatra while he proceeds to his routine duty of checking the area for traps, confident that a party of divine servants can keep shadows at bay. The glass pillar seems devoid of traps, that is a good thing. The bad thing would be that shattering the pillar might send the cellar collapsing down. Retrieving the sword piece would require delicate work.

Having lived in tunnels almost all his life, and being around to design some of them, Meepo examines the glass pillar with only a slight worry whether this glass is as tough as normal rocks and wood are for structural integrity.

However, with only 12 seconds later, Meepo grins as he ignites his lightsaber and moves confidently to the pillar, stabbing his signature weapon straight into the pillar. The acidic nature of the blade melting through the glass almost immediately as the electricity causes the crystalline material to oscillate just so slightly in order to make the cutting work as smoothly as hot knife through butter.

Cutting a hexagonal tube diagonally downwards, Meepo disables his weapon and grips the tube containing the metal fragment in his claws, and pulls it diagonally downwards in a single smooth action.

"Get going, we must."

Veldor nods in agreement.  "Let's get out of here.  The shadows have too much of an advantage."

He follows behind Meepo, rushing up the steps.

Like was discussed in the OOC thread, if mama bear should feel necessary she can pick us up.  I think it's pretty funny if we're running along and Bertha catches up, then throws us on her shoulders to book out of there.

Noxatra casts a last glance around the room, until again she faced the wall which the shadows had come from. With a final angry glare, she started up the stairs, following after the others.

Returning to daylight, the eyes of the group need a little time to adjust from the dim light below. Meepo, upon breaking up the glass, finds that the blade is inscribed with bright red text, reading "The Night falls beneath my Light". From his examination, the blade does not appear to be trapped or cursed.

As Meepo is examining the object, Noxatra discreetly slips her spectacles on, and looks it over from a distance.

For Nox
When completed, this weapon emits a daylight effect for 60ft bright light, 120ft shadowy light, uses a []idispel magic every round as a free action against Darkness, Shadow and Illusion spells within 60ft, and also has the holy weapon property. Right now, it would just give people like Nox a headache.
Noxatra's face turns to disgust with the knowledge about the shard, but she keeps it to herself, stashing her spectacles back in her bag, and then addressing the reptile, "And where might it be?"
