Gestalt with odd houserules help~
« on: May 27, 2010, 03:30:35 PM »
So due to an inner party conflict(my GF and I killing the other two party members) my DM had to start a new campaign where he seems to be allowing everything. The general party set up seems to be evil, as we have two devils, with two CN characters. My current character is a Blood fire ooze(Yeah, he is allowing damn near anything) with some monk and fighter splashed around(I would have gone ToB but I had to work fast). However, due to the fact my DM is throwing custom items around like crazy, my VOP character is falling behind. So I beseech thee o' mighty BG, help me make an evil gestalt character

Starting level 12

Houserules:
Playable monsters drop their HD and keep their LA, but loose all spellcasting tied to their HD(I know, right?)
I can more or less play any monster, but the DM and I have to sit down and figure out an LA
All books are good(even 3.0 and 3rd party)
I'm up to playing anything other than sneaky types
Current group: Erinyes scout/fighter, Hamatula monk/fighter, and Whisper Gnome rogue/shadowcaster
The Dm threw a Balor at us last session to test our strengths, so him throwing cR+8 our level can be foreseen.

Multiheaded Lenerian (SS) Lumi (MM3) might be fun if you want to be almost completely unkillable but your DM might veto that. A build you might do well with could be Binder4/(anything with ride as a class skill )1/Urpriest2/Bone knight 5//Sorcerer4/Anima Mage 7/Spellsword 1 if you want to be an evil spell caster, if you pick up dynamic priest it is also SAD on charisma and you can serve as the party face, this only works if the DM waves the dual progression class restrictions.

Succubus (or Incubus) might be an interesting choice, since you'd just end up with 6 HD of [Outsider] and a boat load of CHA.  Go sorcerer, and then Paladin of Tyrrany, splash in some Abjurant Champion of course.  You will be a decent gish.

For extra cheese, go into Ordained Champion of Hextor so you can smite stuff at will and put that huge CHA to work for you.

That's just off the top of my head, I'm sure others here will pull out far more powerful stuff. ;)

6 HD of [Outsider]
Edit to OP

I got the LA-HD thing backwards, he said free HD, but we keep the LA

Black Ethergaunt (Fiend Folio) all the way, then. +4 LA, Wizard 17 Casting, +20 INT, Immunity to 6th and lower level Arcane spells and more!

You'll lose the spellcasting with your rules, but the rest it still worth it!

Heh, yeah no kidding if you lose HD so much the better.

Do you lose racial SLA's and Supernatural abilities, or just true spellcasting?

Seeing that you are already playing a monk, I suggest that you CHOKE A BITCH. Not monk-specific, but it could work. Especially with some ToB thrown in.

Sharn is also an option, even without spellcasting :D

I believe it is just true spellcasting

<.< The Erinyes will kill anything with a low CHA score

I was pondering doing the whole FACTOTUM OF WAR thing with a Black Ethergaunt

but I wasn't sure if there were better options with the B.Ethergaunt losing it's best ability an all

One of the demons (Vrock maybe?) gets Telekinesis at will.  Perhaps go with that into Master of the Unseen Hand.  You'll be a vrock, and so should fit in with the other fiends, will be good at combat because of your impressive physical stats, but can also kick ass with your TK.

Under those rules, I'd say tauric (MMII) brachyurus (ELH).  This gives you:
  • Natural armor +17
  • 2 claws (2d6+str) that can be used at the same time as weapon attacks
  • Deal 15d6+2.5*str damage as a free action every time a creature in your threatened area goes prone for any reason
  • Blindsight 240 feet
  • DR 10/epic
  • Faste healing 10
  • SR 32
  • Acid, cold, electricity, and sonic resistance 20
  • Str +20, dex +28, con +26
  • LA 3

LA only uses one side, right?

If you keep SLAs, Sharns really are amazing.

Off the top of my head

Sharn 5/Factotum 7 // Factotum 1/XX4/Ur Priest 7

Play a Mirror Mephit and make simulacrums of everyone else in the party and yourself?
Monks are pretty much the best designed class ever.

Erinyes would probably try and kill me, then the barbed would end up helping

Awesome suggestion though

Sharn 5/Factotum 7 // Factotum 1/XX4/Ur Priest 7
Sharn spellcasting would be dropped

Ha, maybe this is too sneaky.

Guecubu (hordes of the abyss) LA +X/Beguiler 1/Marshall 1/Telepath 1/ Fiend of Possession 6/ Master of the Unseen Hand 5

That would be a pretty humerous build.  You could always throw in a level of Thrallherd as well if you can use practiced manifester to let you qualify.

If you want a meat masher, the anthropomorphic baleen whale would be great.  3HD and +0 LA to get +20 to stats, large size, and 9 points of natural armor.
