Yes, you're right. Anyway battleaxe and warhammer could become quite impressive in the right build. Watch out, as the Hida Defender has some RP pre-reqs (clan restrictions).

How about Swordsage1 (Blood in the Water)/Cloistered Cleric6/Swordsage+1/+cleric casting 12/

Take the deathless domain.  It's 9th level spell includes a Keen effect that stacks with Improved Critical.

Then go to town with TWF kukris.
