EDIT: Never mind
I am constantly amazed by how many DM's ban Tomb of Battle.  The book doesn't even exist!

Why would you even do this? It hurts my eyes and looks like you ate your keyboard before suffering an attack of explosive diarrhea.

sorry, this stuck out to me:( why would ToB be banned OF COURSE?
Because it's horribly broken. Just like Truenamers.

Please tell me you're joking.  Truenamers are well known to be broken (because they don't work right).

The Dark template increases your base land speed by 50%.
+10 feet, not +50%.  You're thinking Shadow Creature, which I mentioned up above (mentioned Dark too, for that matter).

Swordsage 5 with Martial Study (White Raven Tactics) can move an infinite distance without provoking AoO's in a round.  How you meet the prereqs for White Raven Tactics is up to you, but you initiate WRT as a Swift action, targetting yourself, spend a full-round action to recover it, and take a 5-foot step.  Repeat ad infinitum.

Keep in mind, this is over the course of X turns, but it all happens in one round.  Who needs Teleport?  A fly speed and a Swim speed would be welcome, though.

*Facepalm*  You'd think I'd remember the speed increase of a template that I love.

So how would you convert the distance you moved into damage?

your humor detector is malfunctioning. why would he be joking? I always ban truenamers and ToB because they are way too overpowered.

that was obviously assumed. far to broken to ever be allowed in any game. I didn't mentioning because everyone HAS to ban it to preserve balance, like banning warlocks. it's automatic.

Yes, but one of the hardest things to detect on the internet is sarcasm, and their is nothing you can say that is so stupid that someone will not thing you are serious. Also the thread is getting derailed.

what about the sonic boom from breaking the sound barrier?  if you take a 5 ft step at your full speed (or use spring attack) your gunna make a sonic boom and that sounds like a sonic attack to me.  anyone have any ideas on how to convert that to attack damage?

I wouldn't.  Otherwise a) you're applying physics to D&D b) Your DM can rule that YOU take a lot of damage from air friction.

So how would you convert the distance you moved into damage?

So the point of this is simply to move fast. Can you convert this into damage?

I saw Cometary Collision in Sky's link but that doesn't actually give you damage according to how far you've moved.

You're not falling so falling damage doesn't count.

And as for your other discussion, I have a RL DM who has banned TOB and Psionics.. Much to my protests and the entire groups lack of understanding both. I believe this is generally the reason why DMs ban them. They haven't taken the time to learn the rules behind either.

Unfortunately ToB has one of the few ways to actually make combat use of an insane land speed with circle of fire and tornado throw.

Nice find there. The doubling boost is what is really important in this situation.
