Metamorphic Transfer and Psicrystals
« on: May 14, 2010, 10:19:27 PM »
Let's assume I use metamorphosis on myself and share this power with my psicrystal.  We turn into pixies.  I'm invisible, but is my crystal, and if so, for how long?
Hood - My first answer to all your build questions; past, present, and future.

Speaking of which:
Don't even need TO for this.  Any decent Hood build, especially one with Celerity, one-rounds [Azathoth, the most powerful greater deity from d20 Cthulu].
Does it bug anyone else that we've reached the point where characters who can obliterate a greater deity in one round are considered "decent?"

Are supernatural abilities psionic powers? The answer is the same.

I dare anyone to find a hole in that logic.

It'd take quite a bit of work to get Metamorphic Transfer onto a Psicrystal.
Like a Wis bump item that won't fall off ...  :D

It requires a manifester level that it can't get (even with Hidden Talent) until epic.

It's easier to get Assume Supernatural Ability.

The host feats give a psicrystal a manifester level.  You allow another psionic entity to possess your psicrystal

If you could somehow change your psycrystal into a humanoid for a while you could mind seed it so it can have powers... Provided you were level 13 or higher when you did it.

Mind seed is a level 8 power.  You could use it earlier from a dorje or power stone.

Noted.  The psicrystal only needs 12 HD for +3 CHA.  Maybe it can read a tome.

Mind Seed is mind-affecting.  The Psicrystal is immune because it's a construct.
I am constantly amazed by how many DM's ban Tomb of Battle.  The book doesn't even exist!

Why would you even do this? It hurts my eyes and looks like you ate your keyboard before suffering an attack of explosive diarrhea.

That's why Littha said you turn it into a humanoid first (via Metamorphosis or something). This also works if you want to use Psychic Reformation on it.

Oh yeah...

Sorry, I'm playing a psion in a game where shapechanging spells/powers don't change type.  I forgot that wasn't the norm.

So I plan on making full use of that fact.  I also plan on enjoying symbionts...

Lyca - Assume Supernatural works too and it doesn't need everything that Metamorphic needs.

Warforged do this better, or a Cohort or Thrall.
PAO obviously, but that's much later ... unless a magic mart is around.
Elemental Envoys can do this more easily.
