Ok here is what I have. Please make any suggestions and what not you feel appropriate. It should be noted that my group plays that intelligence boosts give retroactive skill points as they felt that it cheapened Int to not allow this and short of being a caster limited why anyone would ever want to boost Int. So, that is a nice little boost.

Strongheart Halfling
Wizard 1/Druid 6/Arcane Hierophant 3

 Str 12 (+4 Belt of Magnificence= 16)   
Dex 19 (+4 Belt of Magnificence= 23)
Con 16 (+4 Belt of Magnificence= 20)
 Int 18 (+4 Belt of Magnificence= 22)

So I am back with my pets!

Base Attack: +9/Grapple +14

Full Attack: 2 Claws + 14 1d6+5, Bite +14 1d6+2, Tail 1d6+2, Rend 1d6+2

Special Attacks: Poison on Claws and Tail attacks DC 18 1d6 Dex/1d6 Dex, Leaping Pounce: Full attack on a charge, plus Rake, if target is same size or smaller free trip with out provoking AoO, if successful, free grapple. If Success full, automatic claw and rake damage with a successful grapple check.

Low Light Vision 60', Darkvision 60', Scent

Saves: 9/12/5

Str 20, Dex 22, Con 17, Int 7, Wis 14, Cha 12

Feats: INA (claws), Track, Virulent Poison, Multiattack, Improved Multiattack.

Skills: There seems to be an issue here as I think they may have miscalculated his initial skills. By my math he gets 1 skill point per level, and has only 2 racial class skills, Jump and Hide. The original stats were Hide +12, Jump +24. If he has a +3 from his original Str, +4 ranks(1 per HD), + 6 Racial, +8 Speed that is +21, not sure where the other +3 comes from. So I recalculated his skills. In my finished tally I gave him 4 ranks of Hide, 6 Ranks of Jump. He recieves a +8 on Hide, +10 in Forests as a racial bonus. With his new Ability scores that is:

Hide: +18 (+20)

Jump: +25

Benefits he recieves:

Evasion, Improved Evasion, Share Spells, Empathic Link, Deliver Touch Spells, Enhanced Link, Devotion, Due to Arcane Hierophant he is a Magical Beast, rather than an Animal, but still can be treated as an animal for spells I cast on him. Also he recieved 6 HD, 6 Natural Armor, +3 Str/Dex.

My secondary Companion:

Mook Fleshraker Dinosaur Medium Animal

HD 4d8 (29)

Initiative: +4

Speed: 50ft

AC: 20 (4 Dex, 6 Nat. Armor)

Base Attack: 3 Grapple: 6

Attacks: 2 Claws +6, 1d6+3, Bite +1 1d6+1, Tail +1 1d6+1, Rend 1d6+2

Leaping Pounce: Full Attack on charge, free trip if same size or smaller, free grapple if successful, claws and rake damage each round on successful grapple check.

Poison 1d6 Dex/1d6 Dex DC 15.

Str 17, Dex 19, Con 15, Int 2, Wis 14, Cha 12

Skills: Hide +12, Jump +21(listed as 24, but I still don't see where the extra 3 is coming from.)

Feats: Imp Natural Attack (Claws), Track.

Now, I was thinking about taking a Hedgehog for +1 Nat Armor, but then was thinking about a rhamphorhynchus, which Crystalkeep has listed as giving +3 Initiative, and as a bonus it is a dinosaur, but I don't have the issue of Dragon it is from, so I don't have stats for it. So not sure about what I will end up with for a Familiar. Also considering dropping obtain Familiar and taking Dragonic Cohort instead, this would let me pick up a Very Young Brass Dragon. Thoughts?

I would definitely ban Evocation before Illusion. Between Conjuration and druid spells, you can do almost everything you want from that school. Illusion has some amazing spells that can't be easily reproduced. I'll look over the rest if I have time...

Well... a +4 item should certainly include a +4 weapon, which is 32,000 gp. I'm betting he didn't think of the Belt of Magnificence, though.  :lmao Still... not everyone needs every stat, so even discounted I think those things aren't actually worth the list price for most characters.

If that's the case, with these rules you should get a +4 Belt and two +2 belts and sell 'em for massive gold. 175k GP at level 10 is pretty nice.

Hmm, can the +2 items be a graft?  There are slither grafts (close enough spelling, I am without books) in the Lords of Madness book.  There are 3 seperate ones that each add +2 to one of the physical ability scores.  The bonus is an unlisted type and they cost twice the price of inherent bonus books.  Although they are not mental bonuses, they might be useful since they stack with everything and are usually too expensive.  The grafts are also mostly internal and unnoticeable if I remeber correctly.

With special exceptions my group tends to avoid Leadership since it's like the most powerful feat in the game. 

We do allow for people to take Leadership to fill a party role that nobody wants to take, or something like that.  For example, if nobody wants to play a Cleric/Healer/Condition Removal type.  We tend to use Planar Binding/Ally the same way. 

So, familiars make me feel less dirty, but that's just one man's (group's) opinion.

Why not just PAO your familiar into something crazy, then PAO it into itself for permanent duration, and then have a familiar that's also effectively your cohort?

Also, any suggestions for gear? I am thinking that I am going to basically play this as a mounted character and thinking that I will use my mount most of the time as my main offense, followed by spells.

Yes. You can share anything that you target yourself with, and it will affect all of you with one casting. You can also cast personal range spells on them instead of yourself, but I think that would only hit one of them per each casting.

I see, well being that I am going to do the Transmutation specialist, I think that Alter Self will feature prominently in my daily memorization. Damn. Wish I could have made this work with a Neraph now just to get Outsider. Oh well.

If it's of any interest, once you can cast 7th level spells you can use As the Frost to change your type to outsider for the duration.

I'm not sure how it would interact with Alter Self, though. Permanent PAO's a bit simpler.

Honestly, at this point, PAO is useless to me. CL 4 means I can not really get a useful form for my Familiar, unless of course I took the Rhamphorhynchus, then turned it into a swindlespitter (MM3), as they are the same size, same kingdom, same class, the change should be permanent. Hm. I need to check the price of the scrolls. If I have enough, I could by two, use one to turn it into random medium sized dino, then into the fleshraker, since they now have a +9 duration factor it would be a permanent change. Then I could have a small army of Fleshraker's!
