One main reason to go Arcane Order is to use your specialist Wizard slots as 'generalist' slots via the Spellpool.  Leave your specialty slots open, use a full-round action to focus, and ta-da!  This goes well with an Abrupt Jaunt Conjurer.

As for a domain Wizard, you get free spells known, but you're missing out.  Really now, how many mind-affecting SR-checking Will saves do you need from Enchantment?  If you oppose Necromancy, how many Necromancy spells do you see yourself needing on a daily basis?  Is it enough to justify keeping the school and not relying on the spellpool?

Hood - My first answer to all your build questions; past, present, and future.

Speaking of which:
Don't even need TO for this.  Any decent Hood build, especially one with Celerity, one-rounds [Azathoth, the most powerful greater deity from d20 Cthulu].
Does it bug anyone else that we've reached the point where characters who can obliterate a greater deity in one round are considered "decent?"

Don't forget the Flesh to Salt trick for mass wealth gain, and quite frankly once you're a little higher in level, it's hard to go wrong with abusing the shit out of forms like the Choker or Chronotyryn for action economy.  Um...planar binding as noted is phenomenal cosmic power, and later Gate is just retarded good.  I would go so far as to advocate actually becoming one of them permanently, especially if you can make up the lost Int (if any).  Chrono's as I recall have 18 base Int (or more), meaning the Diplomancer trick is easier to pull off since you can pump Cha and Wis, as the rest of your stats will be decided by the form you choose to PAO into.  In fact, start as a Neraph.  LA 0 outsider, so it's valid (yay for the DM okaying all LA 0's), and you can probably afford a scroll of PAO already (and even if it's between that or a nice metamagic rod...the scroll wins hands down).  Once you're higher level/have more cash, which will be easy with any of a number of tricks (Mount sales, Flesh to Salt a cow, etc), ensure you and any form of dispel never ever interact in any way save YOU dispelling THEM.

Sandstorm, it's level 5.

Wall of Salt is a level lower, and nets you a fairly decent amount of salt, as well. Each 5 foot section of the wall yields 4.25 cubic feet of solid salt. 132 lbs of solid salt make up 1 cubic foot, or 72 lbs if its loosely packed. At 5gp/lb, and 7 sections of wall at level 7 when you can first cast it, you are still looking at somewhere around, what, 20k gp/cast? Not as efficient as flesh to salt on a cow, but it comes earlier as a spell, and cheaper as a scroll, with no save to contend with.

Edit; those weight numbers for salt, btw, came from the Salt Institute. Yes, it exists. Their web address is the same as their name, saltinstitute.com

A gygaxian dungeon is like the world's most messed up game show.

Behind door number one: INSTANT DEATH!
Behind door number 2: A magic crown!
Behind door number 3: 4d6 giant bees, and THREE HUNDRED POUNDS OF HONEY!
They don't/haven't, was the point. 3.5 is as dead as people not liking nice tits.

Sometimes, their tits (3.5) get enhancements (houserules), but that doesn't mean people don't like nice tits.

Though sometimes, the surgeon (DM) botches them pretty bad...
Best metaphor I have seen in a long time.  I give you much fu.
Three Errata for the Mage-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Barbarian-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Monks doomed to die,
One for the Wizard on his dark throne
In the Land of Charop where the Shadows lie.

What in gods name do you say to a nightmare to get it to stay with you after Lesser Planar Binding it... that would be lasting?
Can you use Libris Mortis? If so, you just say "Hey, how about you let me cast a spell on you?" Then you cast Necrotic Tumor from a scroll.  :smirk

You say "serve me faithfully for a week, and I'll grant you a wish so long as it isn't harmful to myself or my companions." In a week, summon a Djinn. Use the first wish for yourself, the second for the pony and pay the Djinn with the third.

I like how you think :P  Would work even better with infernal beings, just promise the next 5 souls of people you kill or something.  Demons and devils love souls (though devils are more reliable, provided you make sure the agreement is ironclad with no way for them to backstab you).
