Who has a Shadowcraft Mage CO Diary handy?
« on: April 06, 2010, 01:01:49 AM »
I'm considering playing a Shadowcraft Mage for a Pathfinder game.  This is a backup backup backup character, but being an uberfied midget calling himself "Snuggle" sounds appealing.

What spells do ScMs typically mimic via Heigthened silent image?
Hood - My first answer to all your build questions; past, present, and future.

Speaking of which:
Don't even need TO for this.  Any decent Hood build, especially one with Celerity, one-rounds [Azathoth, the most powerful greater deity from d20 Cthulu].
Does it bug anyone else that we've reached the point where characters who can obliterate a greater deity in one round are considered "decent?"

use your imagination. that's half 90% of the fun about using illusionists.

I am currently running one, so far I have used it as a source of electricity damage to use against iron golems to slow them, a resilient sphere to protect a downed party member, cloudkill when confronted with winter wolves and also mass flame shield against same. Generally any good if situational spell is a good thing to keep in mind when using your shadow illusions. Also a good thing to try is to use it to imitate things with costly material components, like that magic tattoo spell or force cage.

The correct answer is whatever they want. Pretend you are a spontaneous caster.

I always wanted to play a gestalt Shadowcraft Mage//Tefflamar Shadowlord.  Mastery of shadows much? =D

edit: when I played my shadowcraft mage, some spells I emulated: Phantom Steeds for the whole party for a quick escape!! (yay bypassing casting time!), Orbs of [Element], ManyJaws, Summon Monster

:lmao WIN WIN WIN

And now... for something on topic:

Here is the character sheet for one I was playing, and inside there you can find a big list of things I planned to or did emulate: http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=4524.msg186556#msg186556
[spoiler]
A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

I did make a Hood based off being a Whisper Gnome.  Turn it into a gish with Shadowcraft Mage and call yourself "I May Be Small."

Also, what do I lose if my DM says I must pay XP/gold costs for mimicked spells?

Some of the more abusive options like the dragon magazine war spells. Also some less abusive things like forcecage.

What do you mean by this. All conjuration Creation and summoning as well as evocation spells on the sorc/wizard list.

I was hoping there was a guide which listed these spells by level specifically instead of needing to use IMarvinTPA.com or d20srd.org to sort through them.

I might write this out myself actually.... I feel the need for one if nobody else has done it.
