I just gagged, and then died a little inside. please don't do that to me.  :puke
;) Ahah kevin_v is right. I can't post the real build right now because it's for a challenge over at GitP and I don't want to give anyone an edge.  :smirk But for the purposes of the question, Psion 7 and 13 levels in a non-psionic class.

in that case:

the psicrystal entry for HD states (as master; has half master's hp), while the psicrystal affinity states that it's abilities are based off of your manifester  level.  RAW, I think you would have(with that hypothetical build) a 20HD psicrystal with the abilities of a 7th level psion's psicrystal.

valid arguments
well fuck, I hate to be wrong. there goes alot of entertaining builds I made.

and I got ninja'ed.

RAW you'd have a 7HD psicrystal with the abilities of a 7th lv psion's psicrystal.

Practiced Manifester wouldn't do anything.  It only increases manifester level.  Psicrystal's HD are equal to its master's Hit Dice (counting only levels in psion or wilder).  You don't suddenly get 4 levels of psion when you take practiced manifester.

by your reasoning, the improved psicrystal feat does nothing.

also, the psicrystal entry says "as master's", not "as master's levels in psionic classes".  sure, the feat says that the abilities are keyed off of psion levels, but the only mention of HD says "half master's".

Q217 (I think) If I use Polymorph Any Object to turn my Assimar into a Pit Fiend I would gain it's Str, Dex, Con, and Int. I believe it is a 9 on the Duration Factor table, so that would make it permanent. Could it be dispelled? and does my HP change due to my new Con since it's permanent? If I used a Supernatural Ability instead of a spell to do this would it be dispellable?

Bumping this question.

Q 211 Minor Alterable weapon property says "All the weapon types must be in the same size category in order for the change to occur." The example is gives that a longsword can turn into a warhammer which can turn into a spear. Does this mean a short sword can turn into a rapier?

That's a copy/paste holdover error from 3.0. It has jackall nothing to do with your psion/wilder level, now. It used to be a class feature, not a feat, in 3.0 (like a familiar). That's why it was linked to those two classes.

It's also corrected in the errata.

Q 219: What are the rules for encumbrance of flying creatures, or where can I find them?  I seem to recall that a flying creature has problems if he has more than a light load/light armor, but can't find the rule to confirm.

Q 219a: A half-fiend creature gains wings and a fly speed of 30 ft, but wears a breastplate - what is its fly speed?
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

1) Most (playable) creatures that use wings to fly can only do so in light armor or load(Dragonborn, kobold, raptoran), but there are feats in races of Dragon to fix this, above that limit, they can glide, decending 5 feet for every 20 traveled.

2) Fly speed is reduced in armor, just like land speed, so 20.

This was discussed in a RoTG article (and conforms with what Vinom said), but I don'[t remember wehre it is at in the actual rules.

Q220:
What are some inexpensive options for a non-humanoid character to increase his size?
(Like, for instance, something similar to boots of speed, except for 10 rounds a day you become one size category bigger instead of being hasted.)

A211: No. They are of different size categories. The short sword is a light weapon (two sizes smaller than wielder) and the longsword is a one-handed weapon (one size smaller than wielder) as per PHB p113.

The example they use contradicts the "same size category" clause. Longswords and Warhammers are one-handed weapons and a Spear is a two-handed weapon. So... eh.

I'm going to assume the 3.0 update is they all must be medium weapons or small weapons or whatever.

Q 222: If you intentionally lower you CL for Dispel Magic using the rules given at PHB 171, what CL do you use in the dispel check, your full one or the reduced one?

Reduced.  When you lower your caster level, you do so for all relevant effects.

Our party found that it was actually cheaper to make your own cloak that you put on and off as a standard action with the spell, Enlarge Person, permanently put on the cloak itself. Doing this is WAY cheaper than that damn belt.
