Thanks. Hopefully the DM and player will be able to work something out. At current, this player's the only one in the party without a way to fast heal, and it's starting to take its toll.

If you are falling, are you considered flat-footed against a flying opponent?

No. Although you can provoke attacks of opportunities.

Q136: How viable is a Ghost Savage Progression Pixie Hood?

several +3 LA templates enable Pixies to become Ghosts.

Got a couple of tricky ones for you, that got asked of me and couldn't answer.

Q 142 A vampire summoner notices he's being followed so he casts multiple summoning spells, and children of the night, to keep the PCs at bay while he escapes fully. It says that summons do not get added to the CR of the caster while fighting because they count as being part of the caster themself (which can royally suck). So question is, what kind of XP do the PCs get, if any, from this fight if the caster is literally casting and leaving?

Q 143 A character is rolled, and gets 17 CON. The other stats aren't that great, and looks to retrain his CON points to the other stats. The PC missed a few sessions, and has fallen behind on levels. The DM has it in his head that he'll help the player with getting better stat points and "catch up", and has them face a vampire. The vampire turns the PC into one as well (through a variant of the WotC Savage Species vampire LA template because he doesn't agree with the +8). He's got the additional stat points that you get from being a vampire, but now has -- CON. Is there any way for him to gain access to that 17 CON and retrain any of it, or is it gone for good?

Q144: D&D 3.5e

Would a Abjurant Champ's ability to increase the Armor/Shield AC bonus apply to the Shadowcaster's Steel Shadows mystery? When it's an Arcane Spell? Spell Like? (Su) ability?

The description gives it the equivelency to a 1st level spell, and puts it in the Abjuration school.

(The "spell" gives a +3 Armor & Shield bonus to AC, +8 to each if Abjurant Champ. works with it  :D)

A129: Can't use 'em in a grapple.

A142: I would just call it a win against the big enemy as he is rendered no longer a threat for that encounter by the PCs actions.
A143: No way that I know of and I hate that DM by proxy now.

So if the vampire is a CR 12 sorcerer, and he uses constant summons from Summon Monster V and down, not to mention his children of the night, the EL is 12 as well? Am I understanding that right? ??? Just wanting some confirmation that I'm not reading that wrong.

lol Somehow I figured someone would say that, yeah. I don't hate the DM. Maybe because I know what's he's trying to do (much like my DM does), but in another conversation I'm having, I do agree that the DM shouldn't be just applying stuff. At least talk to the player first and get get feedback on the ideas.
All I could say was get a couple of lesser wishes and remove the racial levels with regular levels.

A129: Can't use 'em in a grapple.

Care to point me to the right direction? I'm specifically trying to figure out why by RAW this doesn't work (as it obviously shouldn't); rather, if ranged attacks are forbidden anywhere.

Ah, but the question was what's stopping you from using them as a ranged attack in grapple?

Because if you're grappling you are both in the same square, and it wouldn't be a ranged attack.

Why wouldn't it be? You can also make ranged attacks against adjacent opponents, no problem.

Do ranged attacks have a minimum range? I haven't been able to find anything to that effect hence why the issue in the first place. I recall Touch spells do, but I don't think that applies to attacks anywhere.

Q145: What is the duration on the Entropic Warding warlock invocation?  The two spells it refrences in the description have durations of 1 minute/level and 1 hour/level and the eratta doesn't touch the invocations.
I am constantly amazed by how many DM's ban Tomb of Battle.  The book doesn't even exist!
