Of course, that requires a perfectly elastic ball and no loss of energy due to heat, right?

No, the point is that in the process of calculating the distance a ball has traveled vertically by taking the sum of the height of the bounces, as long as it bounces by a fraction of its previous height, it will never stop bouncing. I presume bouncy balls stop bouncing because of extra factors, but in the case of theoretical mathematics for the sake of diminishing geometric sequence sums, the bouncy balls keep on bouncing as if the ""Aura of Chaos" stance + a shuriken (1d2-damage weapon) + the "Imbued Healing" feat" infinite damage trick forced you to keep rolling damage dice.

And the idea behind the problem is much older though, it's one of Zeno of Elea's paradoxons.

Right. And it wasn't "solved" until the invention of calculus.

Find a bunch of mundane cats. Use Mindrape on your cat to learn everything your cat knows (might need an Autohypnosis check to accurately memorize it all). Use Mindrape on the normal cats to replace their minds with your cat's.

Alternately: Body Outside Body is persistable, right?

Be a Wu Jen who takes the Complete Arcane feat Acquire Familiar, then BOB Cat.
Hood - My first answer to all your build questions; past, present, and future.

Speaking of which:
Don't even need TO for this.  Any decent Hood build, especially one with Celerity, one-rounds [Azathoth, the most powerful greater deity from d20 Cthulu].
Does it bug anyone else that we've reached the point where characters who can obliterate a greater deity in one round are considered "decent?"

Right. And it wasn't "solved" until the invention of calculus.

I remember this coming up on the old TO-board.
I think the context was: LoP found Aleph Zero, but Aleph One has not been done.
I've no idea how a real Aleph One would be described effectively enough to this/these boards, or to prove it somehow isn't just an Aleph Zero.
It;s all over my pay-grade.

Also, to have the cat in two places at once, create two teleporting traps that port to each other, and since said teleporting happens instantaneously, cat is in two places at once. Or 17 places at once if you build 17 teleportation traps.

Thing is he doesn't want a Quantummechanical effect, but a straight up multiplication of his cat into several "real" entities

Should have named the trick better then. The quantum effect is the famous one, except to people who have watched a certain(abeit popular) anime.

I hate to bring him up, but Pun-pun is all types and subtypes simultaneously, so there must be some paradoxes in there, like whether he both does and does not have a constitution score.

There's that epic spell that shoots you forward in time a round or something, maybe something wacky can be done with your familiar using that.

Now, now, I'm trying to look for something practical here...

Though I admit the thread can't really be considered "derailed", and changing the name at this point would be confusing.  :P

well, there are plenty of ways to do the multiplying thing if you are the cat, but I highly doubt that would help you. Maybe you could give us some context?

Magic Jar the cat. Cast Shapechange. Turn into a Protean Scourge. Hit yourself a few times. End Shapechange. End Magic Jar.

I'm just looking for a way to multiply a cat familiar (could be done with anything, really).

Magic Jar the cat. Cast Shapechange. Turn into a Protean Scourge. Hit yourself a few times. End Shapechange. End Magic Jar.

Why Magic Jar the cat? Wouldn't sharing the spell work?

Yeah, if it's your familiar.
