Q34: Is there anyway to avoid/counter a MDJ? I used a Spellblade for this purpose (not sure if that is even legal, but my DM isnt very into the rules so he let me do it. We are still teen levels so MDJ are not flying everywhere...) but i would like to do it legally.

Q35: Mostly directed at Kell i believe, how is it that you use the Dragonblood Pool to treat Ur-Priest as arcane for prestige class spellcasting purposes? Having read it, it would seem that you only gain a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd level arcane spell slot.

A32: Force is an energy type, but it is not an element. In D&D, there are 5 types of elemental damage (or maybe 6 if you're in Rokugan). They are fire, acid, electricity, cold, and sonic. I don't know why sonic is considered an element... but it is. I don't remember how the favored soul ability is worded, so I can't say if it is legal or not.
PHB in the back under the heading of "Energy Type", iirc, spells out what qualifies as a valid energy type in the definitions section, and only lists those 5.

Yes that is exactly what it does, but now your urpriest casts can cast arcane spells from that slot so it is considered an arcane spellcasting class. It is a bit cheesy but it technically works given how the game defines arcane and define spellcasting.

Q36Is there any way to boost the Deflect Arrows feat to apply to rays as well, pre-epic? I know about the Ray Deflection spell, but I was hoping for some way to improve the existing feat. Dragon magazine, perhaps?

I believe you're incorrect on this - IIRC, force is a damage type, but not an energy type...

That said, it isn't going to overpower the favored soul to house-rule that it's allowable.

See my response above concerning definitions in the PHB for support of that.

Ah ok then. I guess that settles it pretty authoritatively. I think those definitions are available on the WotC website... or at least they used to be...

Found it using google. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/glossary

Energy is in there, and the source it gives is the PHB.

Quote
energy damage

Damage caused by one of five types of energy (not counting positive and negative energy): acid, cold, electricity, fire, and sonic.

Q37: Is there any way to get immunity to dessication damage other than being a Dry Lich? If so, an Ashstar (spell, Sandstorm) sitting next to you seems like a very easy way to get immunity to damage.

If partial actions are move actions now, can I substitute my standard for a move to get 2 partial actions per round?

A 38: You may substitute your standard action to make a second move action in a round.

Q32: Where can I find a specific definition of "Energy Type". In context, a fellow player has a favored soul and chose Force as their first resistance type, under the logic that it's roughly in the same boat as Fire, Cold, Acid, Sonic, Electricity, and that, unlike the majority of the "choose an energy type" effects/features/spells, the energy resistance entry does not specifically have clause which denotes what the types to choose from are.

Q 30 Besides the three items in MiC, are there any Pelor related items?
