I'm in a similar boat as Hallack. I've just gotten my...fifth or sixth character to level 3. This one's a human Ranger2/Fighter1 on Thelanis. I also have a Cleric (level 4 or 5) and a Bard (level 2 or 3) on Khyber. I can post names if people are interested in adventuring together.

Please do! I could use efficient partymates.

Which server?

EDIT: Looking at you earlier post it seems like you're on the same servers I am. My Ranger is Dually on Thelanis and I can't remember the name of my characters on Khyber atm. I'll be able to post them later...

Just started playing in the past week after seeing this thread - it's keeping me amused well enough as a break from other games.

Look me up on Khyber - Lyrrha, level 5 atm.
Had some decent PUGs (surprisingly enough - not really used to that anymore), but it's always good to meet some decent CO folk in there :)

Ghallanda
Thaamel Ashton, male human paladin 3
Thelys Whisperhand, female elf rogue 1/fighter 1

Don't ask why they both start with "th"... ??? There seem to be a lot of GitP folk on Ghallanda, which is why I went there.

I just started a character too now that it is free. Currently have a lvl 2 cleric Araiel. Will likely make a rogue soon too.
Clerics and Druids are like the 4 and 2 in 42. Together they are the answer to the ultimate question in D&D.
Retire the character before the DM smacks you with the Table as the book will feel totally inadequate now.-Hazren

The general consensus on both of those is that by going with TWF you're automatically the DPS guy. I disagree, personally - but you try telling that to the guys in the DDO forums. They'll eat you alive and spit you out.

There's a reason they had to fix Glancing blows to thf'ers were dealing comparably to the twf'ers.

They don't/haven't, was the point. 3.5 is as dead as people not liking nice tits.

Sometimes, their tits (3.5) get enhancements (houserules), but that doesn't mean people don't like nice tits.

Though sometimes, the surgeon (DM) botches them pretty bad...

The TWF'ers were feeling small in the pants?

Honestly, they diss Wizards and Clerics for not being spontaneous casters, and THF'ers as not being decent tanks (despite the fact you don't NEED to be a tank class to wield a greatsword or axe).

Well, lasting power IS important in DDO, and spontaneous casters DO get that...

But yeah, having the right spell at the right time is important :)

Possible spell choices aren't large enough to make wizards the powerhouses they are in tabletop. Granted, sorcerers can't toss out a preparation for that rarely used spell, but with the higher number of spellpoints they get, they definitely have a one-up against the wizard.

Clerics just smash face in general. Except for favored souls. They beat back the cleric some pretty good.

I've seen lots of people play Favored Souls without a single healing spell. I've also seen players whine endlessly about how the Cleric either didn't heal them or ran out of juice too early (oftentimes for constantly healing them).

So forgive me if I have no appreciation for the love spontaneous casters get.

That's their inability to properly pick spells. I cover all rolls fairly effectively with both of mine.

What about the second situation (when the player is whined about because the other players acted like idiots)?
