Ask a Simple Question; Get a Simple Answer. Version 5.0
« on: October 06, 2009, 09:06:11 PM »
Part IV reached 50 pages. Here's the last question we can start off with. :P

Q1: Can someone point me to the FAQ/Custserv quote/ruling/whatever that says that early entry methods like Eldritch Corruption, Versatile Spellcaster + Heighten and Precocious Apprentice are, if not kosher, at least legal?
The cake is a lie.

Q2: I'm playing a dead cleric of Pelor.  When I die my soul goes to His plane, can't I just plane shift back to the material plane?

I don't know that its spelled out anywhere, but I think its generally accepted that dead souls cannot leave their respective afterlife expect by way of ressurection magic.

Perhaps the part of the plane souls go to is protected from plane shifting (so that demons/devils can't come in and steal souls in gorilla raids)? Maybe someone else can answer this better, but that would make sense to me.

No. You become a petitioner, and forget your previous life.

Don't quote me on this, but I think that you lose your memories (and your class levels) so long as you're a petitioner.

Hmmm... doesn't help me much. (Specifically because it doesn't happen to help my side.  :p)

It's been accepted in this community for a while now that Earth Spell/Eldritch Corruption shenanigans do qualify you for those PrCs. I only need to find a specific reason why...

logic is as follows

Heighten spell is unique among metamagics in that it actually increases the spell's level - not only the slot.

Thus, a heighten(x1) magic missile is a second level spell.

Versatile spellcaster can give you a slot a level higher than that listed on your progression, but normally you don't have any spells to put in that shot, and any other metamagic leaves it as a first level spell in a second level slot, et cetera.  heighten actually increases the level, so since you're able to cast heightened cause fear, or heightened ILW, or heightened detect undead, you can cast second level spells.  They're crappy second level spells, but they're still second level.

Q3: Is there a way for a Monk to wear actual (light) armor (say, a Chain Shirt) while still benefiting from all of his Monk abilities. Yes, it has to be a Monk, and the lower the level, the better :)

Q4: Aside from Martial Monk, is there any other way to pick Fighter bonus feats without having to meet the prerequisites? Again, the lower the level, the better :)

Thanks in advance,
~Bowen

A4: A fighter still has to meet the prerequisites for his bonus feats. There is no way to do this for a monk, except for those granted as monk bonus feats.

Ardent of the Silver Flame from Faiths of Ebberon works. It's a paladin/monk class, and works up to heavy armor.

Anything doable at level 3? I don't really care about the cheese, just about the level :P

A3 Shou requires only 3 BAB but 8 ranks in jump, AFB on Silver Flame right now, but I wanna say Divine Grace and Still Mind... then a BAB req. I'll try to find it...

Q5 How can I break immunity to Mind Affects with my psion? I know Shatter Mind Blank, and that's being out to good use, but what about things innately immune? Is there any way to break it?

Speaking of not qualifying for a feat... Q6: So what is the fighter feat with the highest prereq's? Does this allow epic fighter feats?
