Alternate foci for the Chameleon?
« on: July 28, 2009, 09:44:12 AM »
Has anyone come up with a Martial Focus for the Chameleon?

I have been pondering on how it would work as spellcasting is a bit more straightforward than maneuvers, as the recovery method is quite standard for most spellcasting and the level of your spells is not based of your caster level as it is with maneuvers.

On a lesser note has this been done for Psionics/Incarnum or any other alternate working classes?

Jaerom Darkwind on the Dicefreaks boards has a complete overhaul of the Chameleon that actually is worth a shit in epic, and is up to date with the new material.  Hell now I think it's even PF friendly.  It's called the Red Mage.

Not that I'm aware of, but something close to it has been made into a base class.

Thanks both of you, they are both good options and will look forward to playing around with them.

The Red Magi looks like pretty much what I was looking for though, though the skills seem a bit different. I could not find any clarification on that, is there somewhere that explains Mental Discipline and Mystic Arts?

Ah, part of the Pathfinderization of 3.5 .  Mental Discipline is what he rolled Autohypnosis into (along with the Concentration functions of...everything I think), and Mystic Arts replaces Spellcraft and Psicraft, just as Use Mystic Device replaces UMD and UPD.  Functionally the same thing, different names, an unneeded sink for skill points, so they were merged.

I don't know that much about pathfinder, mostly second hand stuff. I shall note those changes.
