Well, a spell is a spell... I'd say yes. Especially if you're using Greater Miracle all the time.

I'd personally remove the line in Reality revision that it can't emulate spells. That's just rubbish that should only apply in the "psionics is different" variant.

Your other, non-mechanics question... well I'm not the right guy to ask, but it would depend on what kind of feedback you want. Do you want to make it a thread just for that character, and if so, are others supposed to nag you for details, question your judgment, etc ? :P Or do you want for others to chime in and post theirs (although not everybody may have an "iconic" character, mind you)? Min/max is probably the wrong forum, though, even if it's where your intended target audience may be ;) I'd say either Kitchen Sink or D&D Deliberations. Others are welcome to contradict me.

Excellent, and I'd thought about doing the same thing with Reality Revision myself, but then I still have to pay for it.  Current method = good, working on method = unstoppable.  I'm working on combining the Kobold Sorc/Cleric with a Warlock, to get everything at will with less BS.  And really, I don't even think the retarded ass shit is required.  So here's my question :

Q176: What means are there to raise the level of an SLA or Su?  I can meet the prereq's easily enough to get into SCM, and then add all the levels to Warlock, but getting at will ubar high level spell slots seems like a pain with SLA's.  Now, at epic it's no biggie at all, since one of them grants at will Shades, but I'm trying to keep it to 20 levels.

You can sell your soul. One of the options is a new spell slot of 'any level'. It's in the Fiendish Codex 2 around page 24.

Oh hell...which means I could pick up the slot at level 1 and then take the Dragonborn transformation with no loss of anything?

I have to say, devils are the worst bargainers ever.

"Hey, I've got a soul for you, and I want a 999999999999th level spell in exchange."

"Awesome.  Now just sign your name here, Mr. Faust."
*scribblescribble*

"Bwahaha!  Now that I have your soul, I can sell it on the black market."

"What's the going rate?"

"100 gp."

Incidentally, I think that "Retrieve My Soul and Reinsert it and Also Give Me Forty-Two Divine Ranks that Double in Number Every Hour and Also Give Me 200gp" is a 999999999999th level spell.

  • It can only be attributable to human error.
I personally blame the low cost on the surplus. There are just too many people selling their souls for huge gains that the price has gone down.

I had a lovely in game discussion with one of my characters, he was CE and wanted to sell his soul for a spell book belonging to Boccob. The demon told him that the probability that he'd get the idiot's soul means that it wasn't worth a hill of halfings.
A player once asked me if there was any way to make a Tarrasque more evil... 3 sessions later he was stoned with D20s as the PC led an exidus out of the path of a Dire Tarrasque of Legendary Wonder.

Well his mistake was trying to sell it to a demon in the first place. Devils are the only one's willing to pay for it, demons just take.

Q177:
Does the bonus damage from Knowledge Devotion stack with ability damage like that from Ray of Enfeeblement?

No. Ray of Enfeeblement doesn't cause damage at all. It invokes a Str penalty. Now if it caused Str damage? I don't know  :D

Ray of Stupidity, which does Intelligence Damage, does get a boost from Knowledge Devotion. It also can be increased with the Int-to-damage ability of the Factotum.

Q178: Can a spontaneous caster make use of the Abjurant Champions class ability Swift Abjuration by default?

"cast abjuration spells as a swift action, as if you had applied the Quicken Spell feat to them (but without any change in level)"

Normally spontaneous casters can't make use of Quicken. Is Rapid Metamagic necessary?

Only if your DM is a god-hating atheistic communist. With aids. Seriously. Skip Williams should be beaten to death with the corpse of a spontaneous caster for making up that rule.

Wouldn't it be negative energy damage, by precedent of sneak attack?

And regardless, there are VERY few games I have been in that didn't houserule that fucktard restriction away.  And the only one that didn't ended when my mailman burninated the entire world using Quintessential Elf high magic with MM reducers to generate enough chained Maws of Chaos (at several miles wide each, lasting for CENTURIES) to cover the entire VOLUME of his precious planet.  And when he heard why, lo and behold he saw the light and stopped being a fucktard :)  I should add DM-breaker to my sig...it's happened more than once (and also gotten me kicked out of like four games by Nazi DM's that didn't appreciate dissention in the ranks).

Q 179

When you use Alter Self/Polymorph/Draconic Polymorph/Shapechange/etc. to assume a form of a size category larger than you that can still use weapons, do your weapons and equipment grow with you?

you seem to have a long history of not liking Skip Williams (or at least his design skills).
so, I'm assuming that if WotC sent you a survey to fill-out on what could be done to best improve WotC products, you would simply send it back with "FIRE SKIP WILLIAMS" written all over it.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you -- just making an observation.

If you stop ignoring 289 pages telling what the intent is to stretch "more power" in your own god complexion of your interpretation trumps all to cover ability adjustments from aging then I will ignore a quarter page of rules that exist within a sidebar.
I think in this case the grammar is less important than whether the Str and Dex bonus provided to your created undead scales.

I had thought that was an exception to Polymorph and friends, going off the precedent set by Enlarge Person, but I might be wrong.
