Our group is playing a power-game, dungeon crawl. We are stretching the game rules to the limit and breaking them. This is a very 1st edition type of dungeon crawl filled with traps, nasties above the normal CR for our level, and general abuse of game mechanics. We are limited to PHB spells (until found in dungeon). I am looking for a rogue type. We have no arcane spell casters, so UMD would be nice as well. Stats were rolled 5d6 drop lowest. Stats are 18, 17, 16, 16, 14, 13.
We have access to all WoTC settings and splat books except some of the latter ones, (No ToB or Dragon Magic). We also can use Dragonlance and Ravenloft from S&S. Good focused (Evil prohibited). Cleric worship is pantheon based, not individual deities.
We are starting from level 1, ignoring epic rules - progression is to be more like 1st edition. Setting is DM's War world - cities ripped from every published setting and dropped randomly. There is a lot of culture bleed from across settings. Action points have also been included.
I am looking for any suggestions that can be offered to achieve the best combination for a skill monkey with a high UMD (but not to the exclusion of her other skills). All the other characters have darkvision so it would help. Since the LA's are not going to hinder us in advancement I would like to take advantage of them.
