Well, as I'll update you all later to show, the World of Wonder was a great success. We've got several rival nations of relatively equal power, a dank corner of the world that is lawless and crazy, and I'm really proud of how the NPC generation went. People can still define more about the world at this point, but from the looks of it they're pretty much done and my work's about to begin.

The things I have set about this world are thus far:

No magic. Wizards are Psions and Clerics are Ardents. Incarnum, Tome of Battle, Tome of Magic (Well, Binders) are all allowed. Paladin casting and Ranger casting are allowed. I'm considering a Bard rewrite where the spells are replaced with the class features of 2 other Bard prestige classes. 28 points, one to one ratio for stat buy, all stats start at 8. Possibly a few skill rewrites. 6th character level. For the most part a player may request that a "cleric" or a "wizard" prestige class be adapted for their Psion or Ardent.

So, first up we have an order for a Scout (I think Swift Hunter will also interest this guy) who uses two whips. No problem, just outfit the guy with Whip Daggers or Mighty Whips, and we're gold. TWF with a secondary Lockdown focus. How should I get this guy movement? Pounce? Travel Devotion? Eventually he'll be capable of the DC 40 tumble check to take a 10 foot step. Improved Skirmish may be useful for this guy.

The second one is described as a guy who can "Use two katanas and heal." This is fine, I suppose. Ardent with the Healing mantle thrown in there somwhere, or a Crusader with Stormguard Warrior. Possible that "Shadowbane Stalker" class with Ardent, which will give healing progression and sneak attack. Problem with PrC'ing out of Ardent is that there's no reliable source of more mantles. This one needs a bit of help.

Bump. I kinda need some help with these, particularly that second one.

Wow, this guy is really determined to suck badly, isn't he? :P Would he settle for a katana and wakizashi? CW Samurai 2/Ardent5 might work for that. Dump Dex, wear heavy armor, and give him some Gloves of the Balanced Hands and a Tooth of Savnok. I'd suggest the Guardian Mantle, and suggest that you add Share Pain to it as the DM (it fits, and the mantles are woefully inadequate, anyway). Then he can stick a Share Pain on an ally to take half their damage, and stick another one on himself to send half his damage to his psicrystal.

Take Physical Power for another mantle for Vigor, and Linked Power to be able to manifest it as a swift action by linking it to some swift action power (bet you've never seen that trick before. :p ). And I guess Life for the third mantle. I think he is going to find himself spread way too thin, though. That's the way it felt when I was trying to build a similar character. I wound up ditching the healing aspect, but I guess if there are no clerics or druids... what are you going to do?

[spoiler]
A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

Oversized TWF would be useful if he absolutely has to have 2 katanas I guess...

EDIT: Pounce (either a Barbarian dip or that PrC from OA (forgot the name)) might be nice, and/or a (Cloistered) Cleric dip for Travel Devotion (and either Animal or Law Devotion).

Bonus damage of some sort would be nice as well for TWF, but to fit all of this stuff into that build might be tricky...

I should probably mention that the guy who wants to use 2 katanas and heal is a dumbass. Don't give him anything too complicated, like Linked Power. He's a warmage in one other game, so Warmage level of complexity is about right.

I can definitely adjust the mantles, as the DM.

Two katanas and heal?

LA+0 Drow + Toughness->Troll Blooded->Daylight Adaptation

There.  He has regeneration one, so he can heal, and as a drow dual-wielding comes naturally to him.

You didn't really need to point that out. It's kind of obvious. :P

Both are cooler than normal longswords, so katanas count.

For the whip guy, would spinning swords (Secrets of Sarlona) be close enough to whips for him?

Uhh I dunno about spinnin' swords, but don't Mighty Whips or Whip Daggers have threatened squares?

By the way serious help is needed on that twf katana guy. I'm thinking he could do it as a Psychic Warrior with Body Adjustment? I dunno if he heals just himself or other people... lemme check.

Body adjustment only cures yourself...

More seriously, possibly a druid of some sort?  I'm fairly certain there's a way to change natural attacks into weapon attacks, and the only thing with more raw cool than dual wielding katanas is a bear dual weilding katanas.

Oh, and he can heal, I guess, if he really wants to.

Wildshape Ranger into Master of Many Forms, then? With Gloves of Man (or whatever they're called), you could have a dual-katana-wielding velociraptor. Add Vow of Peace for Raptor Jesus. :lol

No, he won't go for it, trust me. Trying to convince of anything him is like :banghead x over 9000. I guess I could try for Raptor Jesus, but don't get your hopes up.

It can dual-wield katanas and heal (Rangers get some Cure spells). What else does he want? If 2nd level spells are not enough for him, have him try Mystic Ranger (from Dragon 336) instead, which gets 5th-level spells in 10 levels.

Hmm...

Dragon Shaman 1 would cover the healing bit without inconveniencing the rest of the build too much...

EDIT: You should probably pick
Vigor Aura (heal up to half health for free)
Resistance Aura (Resist Fire 5 means you can set yourself on fire while taking no damage - this seems like a player who would find that really awesome)
Senses: +1 bonus to spot, listen, initiative.  For between combats/healings.

I specifically allowed ranger and paladin casting because it is so terribly gimped and the classes need it to not suck worse than fighters (whether or not they suck worse than fighters is debateable). The point is: No mystic ranger.

Dragon shaman... hmmm. I'll check that shit.

Dude, who wouldn't find that awesome? Heck, if it's an aura, your entire party could set themselves on fire! That sounds pretty awesome to me.  :lol

I just discovered that rather than wield 2 katanas, he actually wants to be able to wield anywhere between 1 and 7 katanas.

Ironically enough, this is probably easier to work with than just 2. I'm thinking that I could toss something Iaijutsu up.
