According to this, a creature with SR that enters an ongoing area effect isn't allowed a SR check, assuming my interpretation is correct.

Does this mean I can time stop then drop a maw of chaos (Spell Compendium 140) on them, automatically bypassing their SR?

By default, is SR checked every round for ongoing area effects?  For example, if a creature is unaffected by maw of chaos (Spell Compendium 140) the first round because SR blocked, then does it check SR again the next round?

I would think cloudkill would be awesome, but I think there's already one with cloudkill combined with something else in the ECS.  Someone once made a joke about a mass Cure Light Wounds spell that chases undead around the Mournland, trying to kill them with curing.
