E-Mail: Yes, that is correct.

I should note that many of the NPC Wizards of High Sorcery in our books never specialized using Arcane Focus. Raistlin, Dalamar, et al were generalist wizards.

The other thing that ToHS clarifies is that once you pass the Test of High Sorcery, you don't suddenly gain a level of the PrC. You have to meet all the prerequisites and have sufficient XP to advance a level. You also don't even have to take the PrC; it's not a requirement for being a Wizard of High Sorcery.

Excellent.

I think my DM is running some sort of 3rd party system in regards to the test, but as he own a lot of books that I dont I wouldnt know. Whenever one of our wizards takes the test of high sorcery, we choose a difficulty level between one and four, and should we survive the test we will recieve some sort of bonus if we took it on a high difficulty level. So far I have never actually survived a test of high sorcery, but then again I have never asked for a difficulty lower than three. Hopefully, this guy will have what it takes to make it through a level four test... I do feel lucky.

Updated build:

Race:
Silvanesti Elf

Alternate class features:
- Elf Wizard substitution level, 1st (Races of the Wild)
- Elf Wizard substitution level, 3rd (Races of the Wild)
- Spontaneous Divination (Complete Champion)
- Prescience, at level 6 (Unearthed Arcana)

Familiar:
- Rat. I will replace 'Stealthy' with 'Track', and take max cross class ranks in Survival to make my pet an excellent little tracker. Its granted ability will help me cope with the Curse of the Magi, especially at level 3 when its granted bonus are doubled.

Stats:
-Str : 8
-Dex: 14
-Con: 14
-Int : 20
-Wis: 6
-Cha: 6

Build:
-1: Wizard 1 Feat (Spell Focus: Conjuration), bonus feat (Scribe Scroll)
-2: Wizard 2
-3: Wizard 3 Feat (Extend Spell)
-4: Wizard 4
-5: Wizard 5
-6: Wizard of High Sorcery 1 Feat (Skill Focus: Knowledge: Religion)), school specialization (divination), forbidden school (necromancy)
-7: Divine Oracle 1
-8: Divine Oracle 2
-9: Divine Oracle 3 Feat (Improved Initiative)
-10: Divine Oracle 4
-11: Divine Oracle 5
-12: Divine Oracle 6 Feat (Quicken Spell)
-13: Divine Oracle 7
-14: Divine Oracle 8
-15: Divine Oracle 9 Feat (Insightful Divination)
-16: Divine Oracle 10
-17: Fatespinner 1
-18: Fatespinner 2 Feat (Spell Focus: Divination)
-19: Fatespinner 3
-20: Fatespinner 4
-21: Master Specialist 1 Feat (Epic Spellcasting), Bonus Feat (Skill Focus: Spellcraft)
-22: Master Specialist 2
-23: Master Specialist 3 Bonus Feat (Greater Spell Focus: Divination)
-24: Archmage 1 Feat (Multispell), High Arcana (Mastery of Shaping)

I just checked with the DM, Uncanny Forethought is a no go :( Neat idea though.

Your Wisdom and Charisma are 6? Good grief. You'll be a hyper-intelligent, uncouth and ignorant mage. Sounds ideal!

Yeah, my idea was to make him insensitive and arrogant. He is not that way on purpose though, he just dosent understand other people very well. He has a very obsessive about his craft, single minded in his way of thinking, has always been a bit of a loner, and tends to forget everything else once he gets cought up in his studies (low wis), and because he dosent understand other peoples feelings very well, and tends to say the wrong things at the wrong times because of it, he is not good at making people like him (low cha). And it dosent help him that he thinks that he is a lot better than everyone who is not lucky enough to be a noble silvanesti elf.. I guess thats what the silvanesti racial cha penalty is there to indicate.

I am not 'just' an optimizer, I put great efforts into all aspects of my characters. When Im done writing this guys backstory, he will be super cool. Well.. cool in the sense that he will be an unlovable magic-nerd, but well written at least then.

Who said that heroes had to be glorious?

Yup typical Sylvanesti elf  :smirk
Clerics and Druids are like the 4 and 2 in 42. Together they are the answer to the ultimate question in D&D.

I know, it MAY sound like yet another Raistlin clone, but it is not intended to. I planned to make him a socially dysfunctional nerd hero, and I think that a low wis/cha represents that archetype perfectly well.

its described as essentially autism with a high intelligence.
