Steam Punk RPGs?

Do anyone know a GOOD steam-punk RPG system? I'm tired of using GURPS, I need something more...Dedicated. Any ideas?

I'd like to recomend Iron Kingdoms from Privateer Press.  There's more than a little camp and nod-wink involved, but it's a fun setting built on d20.  I can't say how it compares to Savage Worlds, as I've never played that one.

Mongoose publishing produced OGL steampunk.

It has some...flaws..but once you get ovber them, or houserule them away, it's good to go.

The take on magic is interesting, as well as potentially abusive.  Rules (some questionable) regarding building devices abound and an interesting take on psionics.

I was amused by a playable vampire race (which turns human in the daylight).

Overall it's a nice read, and I have a campaign going right now of it, but There is probably better out there.

But please..stay away from GURPS

OGL Steampunk isn't perfect but it is *very* good. The ability to play a ghost is reason enough to pick up the book.

No love for Castle Falkenstein?

Iron kingdoms is an excellent setting, Savage worlds is an excellent set of rules (as long as you're happy with an elegantly light rules set) & has a bunch of really interesting steam punkish settings.

I have been playing in a 3.5 DnD game for 6 yrs now and the GM is slightly crispy and wants to play. 3 of us volunteered to step up and GM the new campaign. We voted on what we want to play and the group chose IK 3.5. I've never played IK and having read this post I was happy to give it a try and so my wife and I decided to pick up the players guide so we can make characters and read up on the world we are playing in. Do you know that the cheapest version of this book I found on Amazon is $90 and my favorite small business owner couldn't even get a copy.  :o Screw that, I'll play blind before spending $90 on a frigging game book unless it comes with head.  :fu

For $90 it had better come with a fifty fifty.

This is currently my favorite game system. But I think its mostly due to the life paths. I know that there are some other games out there that do this too, so I hope to check them out also. I also like the fact that everything you do can increase a stat or a skill, and your characters can get trait as they go along.

Edit: miss post I though i was in the burning wheel thread. MY BAD.

Weird Science.

But you find it in Deadlands and Rippers as well as the basic book.

Great! I was just coming by to ask about this, and here it's been pre-clarified. I've had an idea for a Victorian steampunk X-Files type campaign for a few years now that needs to get hitched to a system - I will definitely check it out.

Spirit of the Century can be used for Steampunk very, very easily and very very well.  The system supports the creation of custom gadgets that can have any sort of flavor you wish.  The default setting is 1920's, but dialing it back 30 years would be cake.

A quick example - one of the characters I run for is an ex-boxer who has had his arms replaced with mechanical arms.  They give him bonuses to Might rolls and do something else, can't recall off the top of my head.  Make them steam powered, and you're good.
Still came that eldritch, mocking cry - "Tekeli-li! Tekeli-li!" and at last we remembered that the demoniac Shoggoths...had no voice save the imitated accents of their bygone masters.
