Besides the two above, I would suggest Heroes of Horror.

Tome of Battle.

I have printed the things I care about from it already, + I won't use it in my next two campaigns that much...

Spell Compendium

This was one of the four (along with the core rulebooks for the other three (I haven't got them yet, only rented from a library)) I was going to buy anyways...

I am going to buy them very soon, so please list as many as possible

Besides the two above, I would suggest Heroes of Horror.

Is that really that awesome?

If you are at all interested in the Horror aspect of the game, or even in writing, I found it to be extremely helpful. Plus it doesn't help that it has the Dread Necromancer AND the Archivist.

Horror isn't what I like best. And also, I have printed the Archivist and DN...

To all: Please don't suggest books only because of one base class or some feats, because I have probably already printed that :P

Thought of it...

The books I know I am going to buy:
PHB, DMG, MM1, SpC

The ones I think I'll buy:
CArc, CMage, UA (since I found all of them for less than 10$, 2.99$ in the case of CArc)

And the ones I only can take one of because of money limit:
PHB 2, CAdv, CScou, Dungeonscape, anything awesome suggested in this thread...

What of those 4 is best, BTW?

Dungeonscape has some interesting dungeon design stuff, alternative dungeon construction materials, etc. The rest...you could probably boil down to the 'couple of awesome stuff to print'

"Just what do you think the moon up in the sky is? Everyone sees that big, round shiny thing and thinks there must be something round up there, right? That's just silly. The truth is much more awesome than that. You can almost never see the real Moon, and its appearance is death to humans. You can only see the Moon when it's reflected in things. And the things it reflects in, like water or glass, can all be broken, right? Since the moon you see in the sky is just being reflected in the heavens, if you tear open the heavens it's easy to break it~"

I'd definitely recommend the MIC over most of the completes. Grab the PHB 2 if you can. I've found it incredibly useful.

I know, and I think it'll be either it or PHB2

I don't think I'll use it that much since my group hates preparations, so they don't buy much magic items that I don't suggest that one time we are in the city/magic shop/whatever

Yeah, I think it'll be either it or Dungeonscape... probably PHB2 since it is cheaper...

If you're okay with printing stuff, just download a compilation of D&D books in a torrent and find which ones you want, then buy those.

Printing the stuff out is breaking the law, so you might as well just break the law and download the torrents to decide what to buy.

Also, once you decide what you want, hit up some Half Price Books (or similar if you don't have those in your region), they should have an ample supply of books now that 4E is out.  I went to 3 of them about 6 months ago and got about 10 new books on the cheap.

I do already have all the books I need, but it is frustrating to only have them on my computer...

And I've also already printed about 2000+ pages, and my mum won't allow me to print very much more...

I'm not suggesting that you print them all, I am just saying the best way to know what books you will use for your campaigns is to read them.  Best way to read before buying is torrents.

It is definitely preferable to have the hardcopy of the books, but we can only tell you what works for our games not yours.

Two things that are cool to have, even if you never plan on running them, are Tomb of Horrors and White Plume Mountain. They're not books, but if you're printing things, these are good to have. Great adventures.

What is the point of them if I never plan running them? Will check them, though
