Thanks Phaedrus. Why couldn't WotC have used the same numbered list they use for other powers?

Because then it would've been clearer, and we can't have that.
It's all about vision and making reality conform to your vision. By dropping a fucking house on it.

Regardless, clause 3 would apply no matter what augmentation you used, for example, given that it doesn't specify you must spend those extra PP solely to affect additional targets.
Yeah... the whole thing is kind of fuzzy. I wish they'd expressed all this stuff in a more clear fashion. I don't think I agree with you, though. I think you'd have to spend two additional PPs per extra creature you wanted to affect, above and beyond any other augmentation you do. I think the "For every..." just means you can spend more PPs to add additional targets beyond the second one. If it didn't state that, you could say that you could only ever add one additional target (by spending two power points).

Then why not state "If you spend additional PP, you can affect multiple targets, at a cost of 2 extra PP per additional target"?

Because the authors make lots of mistakes, and don't always write things in the most clear fashion? A lot of this stuff should be rewritten for clarity, but of course that's never going to happen.

I bet this stuff might have been covered in a FAQ, or Complete Psi, or something, at some point.

There are wasy to mitigate flatfootedness, such as the Divine Oracle's 10th level ability and uncanny dodge, but actually preventing flatfootedness requires a Legacy Item.

I basically just need the means to use immediate actions when I would otherwise be flatfooted.

Q264: I just imagined a (humanoid) character who piggybacks a halfling who has various riding feats and spurs the "mount" and so on. Does an implementation of the idea exist already? If yes, link it. I also imagine they'd fight on their own and then "combine" making fun of transformers.

Q265: Am I missing something or does Darkness cast in a completely dark room actually provide illumination (though with 20% miss chance)?

Q266: What other spells besides BlacklightSPC produce total darkness, completely blocking vision?
I own your soul now.
I can see what you see not, vision milky then eyes rot.
When you turn they will be gone, whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be, shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind - cast down into the halls of the blind.

A265: Yes it does.  This is why 3.5 darkness is stupid.

I really should put together some lighting house rules at some points.  Along with something to fix the "humans have the worst vision of any known race" thing.  Seriously, they give out darkvision like it's candy.

Given humanity's incredibly active repoductive rates, other races ability to gib us in the dark is the only thing keeping our population in control.  That's my theory anyway.

I mean seriously, when you say "half-<insert race here>" everyone assumes the otehr half is human.  when's the last time you saw a half-dwarf/half-orc?

Well, IMC gnomes are a race of bastard half elf/ half dwarf offspring that nobody particularly likes...

A246 A warforged with either the Adamantine Body or Mithral Body feats should be able to attach a least augment crystal, as their bodies would be considered masterwork armor.

Foresight, or Shapechange into a Minotaur. Those are both core. You have to go to crazier stuff that is outside the books you listed, otherwise, like Weapons of Legacy, a feat that requires you to do a personal favor for Dispater out of FC2, and maybe something out of Eberron that I forget.

I guess a MoMF could Polymorph into a Minotaur, also.

Q267 Bardic Knack and Knowledge Devotion.

Does this work? Letting you not take any ranks in knowledge skills and still get a nifty +x/+x to attack and dmg?

Q270
In some monster discriptions it says when ever they win a grapple check they do the damage so is this on there turn when they beat you and on your turn when you try to escape?

examples
Once the creature has hold of an opponent, each successful grapple check it makes during subsequent rounds permanently drains 2d4 points of Constitution. At the same time, the creature regains 10 lost hit points.

So am I talking 2d4 Con twice a turn

A267:  No, that doesn't work.  Bardic Knack specifies that to use it on a skill that doesn't allow untrained checks, you must have one actual rank in that skill.
Quote from: PHB
Knowledge (Int; Trained Only)

Now, you could go ahead and put one rank in every skill, and then just rely upon your bardic knack from then on.  But, it does actually require you to invest a rank in each knowledge skill you wish to use.  That's only 6 skill points to cover all the skills that apply to different creature types.

Q 268: A vampire has the Spell Drain feat from Libris Mortis and drains a caster, gaining the ability to cast Stone Skin.  Must the Vampire provide the expensive material component?  The feat says nothing about needing to provide the components, and says its effect is treated as though the spell were cast by the drained caster.  It also specifically mentions not needing the requisite ability score to cast the spell.  The feat does, however, note that "you gain the ability to cast that spell once (as if you had prepared it)."

I'm not positive, but the "as if you had prepared it" part makes me think that you must provide any components.
