A 213: You could take levels of Spellthief to transfer it to yourself.

I was thinking more along the lines of transferring a spell that I had active to someone else. Specifcally, Transcend Mortality.
:facepalm I hope this isn't for your PbP game I'm in...

A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.

Why, no, of course not! *hides his copy of Complete Mage* :P

No, it's for another game.

Q215:  When Bull Rushing an opponent you automatically move them 5' and you can move them further if you move with them.  The Knockback feat states you cannot move with your opponent, though it is silent on the issue about moving your opponent more than 5'.  So can Knockback be used to move your opponent further than 5'?  (Also posted at 339.)

Q205: Can a Fiend of Possession (Fiend Folio) still benefit from magic items when possessing items or other creatures?

Q206: Can a Fiend of Possession benefit from Soulmelds when possessing items or other creatures?

Bump...

Double bump...

Kinda need these answered for a Cohort I'm working on.

A215: Not unless Knockback references bull rushing along the lines of "this works like bull rush, except".
Quote from: Races of Stone, pg 142
Unlike standard bull rush attempts, knockback attempts don't provoke attacks of opportunity, and you don't move with the enemy you knock backward.
Do you think that is sufficient?

The raw does not say either way. Ask your DM.

Okay, I actually went and checked. And now my answer is...
Quote from: Bull Rush
If you wish to move with the defender, you can push him back an additional 5 feet [..]
Quote from: Races of Stone, pg 142
[..] and you don't move with the enemy you knock backward.
...yes. You don't move with the victim and you don't have to - you only have to wish you'd move with him. :)

As much as I enjoyed that answer (though I couldn't give fu for some reason), I'm not sure 'wishing' will fly.  This is for an arena game I'm DM'ing and is a tactic being used by my gladiator, so I was looking for a neutral 3rd party.  I've used the feat in the past and have always pushed people around to my heart's content.  But now I've got a fellow gladiator questioning the feat's usage.

Q216: Not exactly min/max related but... Is there a guide or thread of any type concerning large games and how to handle them? Secondly, does anyone have any advice on how to accommodate pre-gens to fit more players?

I haven't been DM in awhile, and now I am starting a 4 person pre-gen with 8 people, and I'm not exactly sure how to adapt it and keep the game under reasonable control. Half of the players are new too, so that doesn't help. But I'm trying to get more people in my area interested (or at least understand) in D&D, so I'm doing my best to make this work.

A216: Six players is the maximum for an experienced DM. Drop some players or get a co-DM.

If you have the time - run the adventure with two different groups or like Cannibal said, "get a Co-DM." (though this can sometimes be annoying). 6 players is still a LOT to handle for somone who doesn't DM regularly or hasn't for a bit.

Do keep in mind that 8 players doesn't mean 8 people show up.  I regularly see D&D groups with as many as 9 active players... just usually not more than 5 at once.  My own game theoretically had 7 players, but one dropped, and almost every session had 5 party members, though usually not the same 5.

Q217

What are all the 3.5 Lizardfolk breeds, and what books are they in?  I know of the base one (MM1), Poison Dusk (MM3), Blackscale (MM3), Quanak (...web enhancement?), and Khaasta (FF).  I've also heard reference to "Cold Sun Lizardfolk" but I'm not sure if that's a breed or an organization.  Any others?

Can Illusions such as Silent Image, by RAW, be immediately identified with a DC 20+Spell level check when seen?

A 217: There's the Viletooth variant race in Dragon Magic. Do you need creatures that are specifically lizardfolk, or just ones that look similar and/or have the reptilian subtype? because that would open up a lot more options.

"Humanoid (Reptilian)" should cover what I'm looking for, yes.  Is there a good index site anywhere?

(edit) And what page is Viletooth on?  I'm not seeing it...

A 218

Actually I belive you have to see the (action of) casting, not the spell effects.  Otherwise, false theurgy from CS wouldn't work.

So you need to have LOS to the caster to get the check.  If he's invisible, no go unless you have see invis.

Certain feats/spells involving counterspelling may imply or explicitly state otherwise, however.

Viletooth is p.9
No index that I know of other than crystalkeep.

For reptilian, from core you still have kobolds and troglodytes. Underdark has the Phaerlock and the Chameleon template adds the reptilian subtype to humanoids. All the monster manuals also have a half-page index either near the beginning or end that lists all the monsters by type and subtype.

The various Faerun books have a bunch more, but I don't have the time to parse through them right now. I think the blackscale from MM3 is a monstrous humanoid, so if you're including monstrous humanoids in your search then your options open up a bit more. Just glancing at the index from Monsters of Faerun, there's Asabi and Stingtail (updated to monstrous humanoid in the errata). There are also Saurials, but I can't remember which FR book they're in.
